Privacy and Luxury tucked away in the mountains
We stayed here for the 1st week of our honeymoon at the end of July 14 and loved the place! The condo is really spacious, very well maintained and has all the comforts of home. The master bedroom is huge and the bed is massive! The hot tub was cleaned and drained on the day we arrived and we loved using it after a nice long walk in the mountains. The property has a good barbeque and tables outside so that you can enjoy the views across the town.
The location is good for the resort of Big Sky is you are there in the Ski season. We were there in summer so went for many excellent walks in the area. If you like to hike we would recommend Ouzel falls (close to the condo and a nice scenic walk which is quite easy) Beehive Basin (stunning scenery with a small lake at the end of the walk), & Lava Lake (more challenging in terms of vertical walking but a big lake is the reward & the scenery is fantastic) the first you can walk straight form the condo and the other two are about 10-20mins drive away, take bear spray.
The main reason we picked the condo was for the proximity of Yellowstone National Park. We ventured to the park on 2 days during the week at the condo. It’s about 45 mins drive to the park entrance which is really convenient. It’s closer to stay in west Yellowstone if you need to be closer to the park but we preferred the condo and location of Big Sky for nicer scenery and it’s less touristy than West Yellowstone.
There are lots of things to do in Big Sky aside from the walking. We went white water rafting with the Geyser WWR company which is ten mins from the condo, I would highly recommend this and we also went horse riding which was great fun. I would highly recommend these trips & they are good for all ages.
From start to finish the service and help provided by the owner was excellent. We had the most amazing week in the property and the town of Big Sky was great. There are a few nice places to eat and drink in the town, the local convenience store has anything you could possibly want & they had a few events on whilst we were in town such as the PBR rodeo which was great fun. We dined at the Gallatin River Restaurant & Bucks T4 just outside of town, both were really nice informal meals and Buck’s has a complimentary shuttle bus that will pick you up and drop you off when you book dinner. In Big Sky there is a pub/restaurant called Choppers that serves good beer and tasty pub food like burgers and steaks.
I was hostess to 6 other mothers for Mothers Day getaway weekend to Big Sky. This property was perfect for all of us to relax and feel pampered with the hot tub on the deck, comfortable beds and quiet surroundings. Although we were there off season, we enjoyed shopping at the Consignment Cabin, spad day at Ozssage and a very fun night out at Big Sky Choppers Bar and Grill (I highly recommend the wings and Moscow Mules). The view off the back deck was both private and spectacular, we had moose and bluebirds in the morning with our coffee. Wish we could have stayed a whole month! Next stay will be in the winter for a ski weekend at this Mountain Log Cabin in Big Sky, thanks again!
Great week away at a great mountain cabin!! Booked our trip to Big Sky at the recommendation of a friend was wonderfully surprised after two flights to arrive at the Meadow Village. Our cabin was beautifully decorated, spacious, and full of decadent charm. The living room is a cozy retreat complete with fireplace that is great for lounging in after a day exploring. We very much appreciated the welcome basket upon arriving that included a number of options for dining and activities in the area. We enjoyed hiking Ousel Falls, back country horseback riding, touring Yellowstone Park, floating in the Gallatin river, and fly fishing during the day and venturing out in Meadow Village to check out the restaurants, wine bar, pubs, and movie theater at night.
We also especially enjoyed the outdoor balcony space with grill for making dinner and private hot tub to soak in while being surrounded by the crisp air and beautiful mountain.
We are already planning our return trip, this time in the winter for skiing and snowmobiling. Thank you for sharing your lovely home away from home!
