Christa and her husband Dan own and operate a residential construction company in the Temecula Valley. Dan designed and built this home himself and loves to build custom homes. They have two small children together and love living in Temecula.
Christa Pilkington purchased this house in 2005
This home is outside the city without being cut off from anything. The 5 acre property is private and peaceful, however anything you need is close by. The wineries are all just minutes away, and a short drive into the center of town brings you to everything else, restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, gas stations. We love the seclusion that this property offered without having to give up the convenience of living in the city.
The home has an amazing view of the sunset. It is peaceful sitting out on the patio in the mornings listening to the neighbor's horses and watching the hot air balloons floating in the sky while having your coffee or having a glass of wine while watching the sunset. It also offers guests the option of having 2 separate areas for larger groups who want to vacation together but still want the option of retreating to their private space.
We rented this property for my wedding at Lake Oak Meadows. It was very close and had a lot of parking for guests to hang out before and after the wedding. Christa was very nice and accommodating with our early check in and late check out. The place was extremely clean and had lots of room. I would definitely recommend this place. Great location for wine tasting!
I stayed with two girlfriends and we truly loved this place. The owner Christa kept us informed on an early check in and was available to us for any concerns. We had a lovely front patio that allowed us to enjoy our evening glass of wine and our morning coffee. As we had our coffee in the mornings we could see local rabbits on the property and beautiful hot air balloons going up and down. What a beautiful site. The rental was an excellent location and we arranged for wine transportation that came and picked us up and brought us back to our place. So easy and safe and highly recommended. The rental had everything we needed and was clean and cozy. I would stay there again and will recommend it highly. Thank you for a most wonderful stay.
The house was amazing. We rented both floors and had more than enough room for a bachelorette weekend. The house was right by all of the wineries and had tons of parking.
The odd thing of renting the whole house for 8 people, is that 4 people have to walk through someone else's bedroom to get to the upstairs rooms. It's great that it has air conditioning throughout. The outdoor lights didn't work, so it was very dark if coming in after dark. The rooms were comfortable and the beds were comfortable. All in all, it was a good place for a family of 8.
Overall the home is lovely, but we contacted the host or first night as the front door light was not functioning and there were no paper towels to be found in the entire house. We had anticipated one of the guests arriving after dark, so the light not working needn't she wouldn't be able to see the key pad on the door to let herself in. When I contacted Christa she said she would bring paper towels and check the light the following day. When we returned from the wedding at 11pm that night it did not appear as she had been there at all as there was still no paper towels and the lights outside still did not function.
The space itself is fantastic with only one minor problem... The only bathroom upstairs is located in the master bedroom, then in order to use the downstairs bathroom, you must walk around the entire house outside and enter again at the front door or go through the downstairs bedroom. We made it work, but if you have multiple couples looking for privacy that would be a big problem.
We had a wedding in a nearby winery. This rental was substantially less expensive than hotels in the area would have been for four couples. This is a beautiful house in excellent condition . We were 8 people and were very comfortable. The upstairs and downstairs are stand alone units each with bathroom, two bedrooms, kitchen and living room. There is also a nice patio area out front. We did not use it but it would be very nice in cooler weather. I would definitely stay here again.
The home is set in a rural area surrounded by wineries which have wine tasting, restaurants, hot air balloon rides, live music, and many other events going on all the time. It is also located close to numerous other attractions such as Pechanga Casino which offers gambling, concerts, and a comedy club, Old Town Temecula, many wedding venues, many restaurants and bars, and lots of shopping! Some events in the area include the Rod Run and Balloon and Wine Festival.
