This home is gorgeous! Fabulous combination of old house character & modern amenities. This lovely home is located in Brunswick on Harpswell Cove. Walk to fine dining, art galleries and shopping. Nearby Bowdoin College offers cultural activities and lectures. Only 25 miles from Portland, and approximately 120 miles from Boston, the Topsham/Brunswick area brings together elements of both city and country living, with seaside opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast.

I am an independent woman. One who enjoys the best life has to offer and an active lifestyle. I yoga, bike ride, and am an active gardener. I believe in spending a great deal of time in nature. My home offers me the peace and closeness to nature I have learned to love while being close to urban adventure!
Marcy purchased this chateau / country house in 2004
I 'camped' in Maine as a child and always wanted to live by the sea. I choose Brunswick Maine as my home due to it's location and proximity to amenities.
A BIRDSEYE VIEW OF PORTLAND
Portland is home to an eclectic mix of Old New England and new urban arts and entertainment. The Portland Museum of Art, and the heart of Portland’s Arts District offer diverse experiences. Coffee, fine dining, and light fare all can be found just a few blocks from your front door. Portland is Maine’s cultural center and much of this culture can be experienced in the Old Port, a historic district full of cobblestone streets, and antique stores. While there you can experience our eclectic and hip music scene ranging from Jazz to bluegrass. If you want... take in a dance club. Some of Maine's most exquisite beaches are just a 15 minute car ride away from the Old Port District.
A BIRD'S EYE VIEW OF BRUNSWICK
This wonderful coastal area offers fine dining, art galleries and shopping. Nearby Bowdoin College offers cultural activities and lectures. Only 25 miles from Portland, and approximately 120 miles from Boston, the Topsham/Brunswick area brings together elements of both city and country living, with seaside opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast.
A BIRD'S EYE VIEW OF BATH
Long known as the 'City of Ships,' Bath, Maine finds its soul and identity
in shipbuilding. Located just 20 minutes Down East from Brunswick Bath is Nestled along the sparkling Kennebec River. It is a small jewel of a city with the perfect mix of old seafaring history and vibrant daily life. From its architecture and cultural offerings to its urban downtown, Bath's shipbuilding roots define its character.
If you are looking for a relaxing and fun-filled vacation in Maine, I highly recommend a stay at Sea Grass Farm. The property is delightfully private and picturesque. It is located on a large wooded lot with waterfront access to a coastal inlet that is perfect for kayaking and other water sports. Just a stone’s throw away is the charming downtown Brunswick and not much further is the historic town of Bath. While you might never want to leave the calming serenity of the property, the close proximity to Portland and Freeport make for wonderful day trips to explore some of Maine’s best museums and shopping outlets. Our stay at Sea Grass Farm was the perfect getaway for my family (daughter, husband and two dachshunds) with something for everyone!
We stayed for seven months while we first looked for and then bought a house in Brunswick. This was the perfect location for us in that it was convenient to everything, literally everything. While not house-hunting we went to lectures and sporting events at Bowdoin and played tennis at Maine Pines, both within five minutes, and did many other Brunswick activities. (And there's a back road route to LL Bean's, fifteen minutes away!) We stayed at Marcy's rental from fall to spring and found the house great for the "off season", warm and easy. I loved the soapstone wood stove, including splitting wood! Marcy was very helpful to us with regard to running the house and the usual newcomers' questions, as well as helping us understand the local real estate possibilities. All of our questions were answered. Our Dauchshund, Henry and Marcy's Dauchsund, Rocket became good friends. The only downer was that Sea Grass Farm wasn't available for us to buy! If we weren't now Brunswick residents ourselves, we'd want to stay again.
We spent 7 fantastic weeks at Sea Grass Farm last summer and are plotting a return in 2016. It's a setting we hope to make a regular piece of our family fabric. Our search for summer rentals in Maine consistently surfaced lots of homes that were very nice but skewed cookie cutter in terms of nuance and charm. Over the years we've visited family and dear friends living in the Brunswick and Freeport areas and developed a good barometer for the local culture. Sea Grass Farm provides a true Maine experience, almost as if you really live there. The location is secluded and off the beaten path, surrounded by views of woods and the gorgeous tidal basin, but a short drive to so many hiking trails and breathtaking vistas down the jagged coastline in Harpswell and Orr's Island if you are inclined to get out and explore nature. Plenty of wonderful restaurants and shops in charming Brunswick are also very close. And if you prefer to lay low, the house and land are the perfect retreat. We logged many hours relaxing on the wrap around porch reading and watching our two boys roam the land. Every morning we would use the property's kayaks to explore the gem of Harpswell Cove. Marcy and Joel were lovely and generous hosts who respected our privacy and shared their wisdom of the area when asked. We simply can not wait to return!
For the past three summers we have spent three incredible weeks at Sea Grass Farm and we hope to be back in 2016! The house is in a great location between the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell and for those that love the outdoors, the acreage provides plenty of opportunities. The water views out back are to die for and the two on sight kayaks provide hours of fun. Our golden retriever is in dog heaven from the minute we arrive and spends most of her time outdoors in the woods, in the water, or lounging on the great wrap around porch. We humans also spend many hours on the wrap around porch (with a huge fireplace)...relaxing in the late afternoon out back (doing puzzles, playing cards, etc.) is a favorite of ours!
Brunswick is a wonderful small town and Bowdoin College is beautiful. There are great area restaurants and we have seen some wonderful shows at the Maine State Theater on Bowdoin's campus.
Marcy and Joel are wonderful people and we look forward to seeing them each summer.
Rented this beauty while finishing a new home, on the off-season/ summer cusp. April-June. It couldn't have been more gorgeous, very serene, and yet close to everything. You wouldn't even know your almost at the center of all Mid-Coast Maine has to offer. Once you drive back the road, to see the beautiful home, and surrounding water views (from every bedroom) you could be on a Maine island. Owners, Marcy and Joel, are lovely. Very accommodating, and extremely responsive to every need. The fireplace on the large dining patio is a wonderful bonus for family dinners. Stayed with 4 children part of the time, and it is family friendly, like the owners, times 10. I begged to stay there all year round! Lol! You can kayak, wade the water when the tide is out, hike the property (expansive forest in both sides) then go out to dinner close by. What a lovely spot! I'd reccomend it for any age, and anyone wanting to get away! Very reasonably priced, which makes everything all the easier! And you don't need anything but your suitcase, as everything you need is there. Great kitchen for cooking, amazing grill (I gotta have one like theirs) great linens, extraordinary clean and well appointed!! Truly awesome!!! Thanks for a great stay!!!
We had a great vacation in the chalet. The location near Brunswick is perfect and we enjoyed exploring the many hiking and biking routes in the area. Marcie was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and activities. She was always available via email or cell phone for questions and any need we had. The house was very clean and well cared for and the perfect size for our family of 6, towels and sheets were high quality and plentiful. I would recommend this property to friends looking for a lovely quiet getaway.
What a terrific home. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've had in a long. long time. The house was terrific and the location perfect. Our two dogs fell in love with the place. You are only 5 to 10 minutes from downtown Brunswick and Bowdoin College. 15 minutes from Bath, 20 minutes from Freeport and LL Bean's, and 30 minutes from Portland. So the location is ideal. If you want to find a comfortable way to spend quality time in Maine, this is it. If we can find the time, we intend to go back next year.
