Family reunion

  • 3 of 5

We loved the water view but the property needed updating. The sump pump was being worked on for two days and it was a very noisy repair that made it hard for the kids to nap. The kitchen was lacking most utensils and we had to borrow a can opener and grill tools from another unit. We were told the property was ours for the week but one day 3 adults and 9 children arrived and took over the beach. We told them it was a private beach but they didn't leave and then someone came to get them in a golf cart which they drove across the lawn! The beds were comfortable but one of the bathrooms was a dump. Over all everyone had a nice time and the property attendant David did his best to meet our needs!

Perfect vacation cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

This rental was great for my family of four. We had all of the comforts of home and reasonable driving distance to everything we wanted to see. All of the necessities were provided for us including a washer and dryer! It was very close to Cedar Beach and so peaceful and quiet.

Wonderful Family Holiday

Great place to stay. We were welcomed with beautiful freshly cut and arranged flowers in the rooms. Wood supplied free of charge for the evening fire pit . Fresh breezes from the sea and a wonderful place to relax.

Quiet Bailey Island Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is just as pictured and described. (There was even radish and kale in season to add to our evening salad!) We were two families with school age boys and a small dog. There was enough room for everyone to relax and spend the evenings. We used this location as a home base between Booth Bay and Portland. It was perfect!

End of Summer Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We rented this warm and lovely summer home for the last week in August and had a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay. The cottage was extremely clean and laid out with every possible amenity. We arrived to find a fridge stocked with the necessities, plenty of towels, kitchenware and extra blankets, and vases filled with freshly cut flowers. Such a nice welcome! The cottage was a just a short walk to a private beach that was the perfect spot to relax with a good book and watch the kids and dogs play in the sand and water. The end of the day we walked down to the Morris' lobster house for freshly caught lobster and homemade blueberry martinis. Eeryone we dealt with was very helpful and friendly as well. Highly recommended!

Owner's Response: We are very happy you enjoyed staying at Juniper Lodge. A couple of things we want to mention for a future visit: 1. There is private access to a beautiful sandy private beach where you can walk out to an island at low tide and collect muscles and lobsters that is three doors away. NOTE UPDATE: that beach is no longer accessible as of summer 2013. There is beach access at Mackeral Cove on Bailey Island. 2. There has been extensive beautiful new landscaping added to the property since you left. 3. If you have time on a future visit there is wonderful entertainment nearby at Bowdoin’s International Music Festival and their Maine State Musical theater touring Broadway shows as well as great restaurants such as Clementine’s in downtown Brunswick. 4. There are wonderful outdoor adventures such as kayaking, hiking, swimming, fishing, to enjoy. Hope to see you next summer!
