Enjoy our newly renovated home for only $1518.32/week all-inclusive from May - November!
Location! Location! Location! Close to the spectacular Tigertail Beach (0.9 mi) and Esplanade Shoppes (0.5 mi)! This 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is situated on a lush tropical over-sized corner lot, totally updated to provide the perfect backdrop for 2013 lifestyles.
The open and bright kitchen area features granite counters, brand new appliances, and a convenient sliding pass through window to the screened-in lanai. Other features include: imported tile throughout the entire home, freshly painted with neutral colors, a wet bar, two full-sized refrigerators, two living rooms (each furnished with brand new 50-inch LED TVs), new furniture throughout the home, a spacious outdoor living area, four brand new bikes, and beach gear. Both the living and family rooms have a wall of pocketing sliding glass doors that open up completely to the lanai. The large outside lanai is a tropical retreat overlooking the pool, which is perfect for enjoying the warm and sunny Florida days, as well as a great setting to enjoy your tranquil evenings.
Since my family is now spread out in three states, we have decided to meet in a neutral site, this year in Marco Island. We rented this home because it had the room to fit three couples and one child comfortably. My son and his wife had to back out due to business needs. so it was just my wife and my daughter and her husband and my grandson. We had a fabulous week!
This was our second time in Marco Island, last time my wife and I stayed at the Marriott on the south side of the island. The north side, with Tigertail Beach, is much "wilder" in that the beach itself has that lagoon in front (with kayaks, and other non mobilized play toys) which was fun to discover, then the long walk around the lagoon to the actual gulf beach which is LOADED with shells of every kind. Hint: when parking in the lot, continue to the additional parking and drive all the way to the rest rooms at the end of the parking lot. This will save around 1/4 mile of walking each way, which is a big deal if hot and carrying beach chairs etc.
There are many nice restaurants nearby the house, Esplanade Center is just over the bridge and the Publix etc is just down the road as well, so the location is very convenient. The bikes make it convenient to ride either to the beach or restaurants, but we chose to drive most places.
I found the eagle sanctuary to be interesting (it is around 2 blocks from the house) where mommy eagle was sitting on some eggs most of the time. One day I saw daddy eagle flying above the pool as I floated on my back. Pretty awesome memory.
My favorite restaurant was Snook Inn, but if you drink alcohol be sure you get there between 4-6PM for half price happy hour. They are super friendly, and make a mean Mojito according to my wife. Not fancy, but it is on the water and the food was good.
The house was laid out perfectly for our family. We let my daughter and her husband have the master suite with the king size bed and bathroom. We took the queen and my grandson had a room to himself with the twins. The master bedroom is separated from the other bedrooms by a large living/family room with a nice large tv, a dining room and kitchen. The living room opens up to the lanai with the pool, and with nice weather it was open most of the time. Loved the fresh air and openness. We would serve my grandson breakfast and lunch through the kitchen window to the "bar" out in the lanai, and he loved it. Called it Nana and Papa's kitchen. Great time!
We went to Marco Island for a long-overdue family reunion. We chose this property based on it's price, the photos on the website and the reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The house was just as it looked in the photos. As stated in the listing, It was very well stocked with everything you could need, from bath towels to beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans and cooking utensils. The kitchen cabinets were so organized, and every light switch in the main living area was labeled, so there was no guesswork! There was a clean, working, gas grill that actually had gas in it! Many herbs, spices, vinegars, oils and other cooking basics already stocked in the revolving pantry (what a great idea!). The beds and couches were very comfortable. As far as the beaches go, Tigertail Beach is the closest one, but if you go to that one be prepared for an adventure. You have to walk around or THROUGH a lagoon to get to the actual beach. We found South Beach to be much more easily accessible (2.5 miles up the road by car) with easy parking and a short walk to the beach. It was also bigger and nicer and had a casual restaurant located there. All you needed was shoes and shirts. When we were all "beached out", the beautiful screened-in pool at the house was a great alternative! We found a decent pizza place that delivered (Sammi's?). There's not a ton of shopping, but Naples is only a short drive away. Prior to and during our trip, Dan responded to my emails very promptly and answered all of my questions. This was my first experience renting through Homeaway. The rental process was seamless, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I would most definitely rent this property again and highly recommend it if you're thinking of vacationing on Marco Island. We had a great time, and this well-appointed, worry-free property was perfect for what we needed!

We enjoyed the house!!! We had a great time in this house, the kids loved the pool!!! It is in a right place, everything is near, the supermarkets, Walgreens, cvs, bealls outlet, a Marco island store for souvenirs and restaurants. The house have very much space for a big family! And the city is beautiful!!!! We had a fun week!!! Thank you!!!
We truly loved this house, it made us feel like we were home. It was immaculately clean, and had all the modern conveniences of our own home. The kitchen was so well organized, the owners provided us with every dish, appliance and cookware we could possibly need. The pool area was such a lovely added feature with a wet bar, we would swim in the pool after we came home from the beach, grill our dinner and eat outside. Late at night we would relax in one of the two comfy living rooms and watch TV. I cannot stress how clean the bedrooms and bathrooms were and how comfortable they were as well. The owner's thought of everything, they provided beach chairs & bicycles, which made our beach trips more enjoyable. While we did love Tigertail Beach, it was a bit difficult for us with little ones to walk through the lagoon, so we would often drive up to Naples Beach where the water was much calmer for our little ones to swim in. Watching the sunset on Tigertail Beach is a must!! We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit Marco Island. What a great way to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary with our children and grands.
My family enjoyed the week we spent here. Plenty of great amenities including heated pool, clean rooms, plenty of beach towels and in a great location. Our power went out briefly for a couple hours (d/t weather), but was quickly restored. The beach is about a mile away. We hope to return again soon.
We stayed for seven nights for our honeymoon -- our best trip yet! Dan was very accommodating to our request to book Sunday through Sunday, despite the typical Saturday through Saturday policy, and he was very prompt in responding to any questions we had. The house was immaculately clean, the pantry stocked with cooking essentials, and the pool was perfectly warm and relaxing. Having bicycles was very helpful to get to the beach. We certainly were sad to leave such a lovely home! What a perfect way to begin our marriage!
Today Marco Island has a population of approximately 15,000 to 35,000 people depending on the time of year. It is a hot spot for conventions held in its beautiful hotels lining shimmering beaches, and as with neighboring Naples, it is a popular winter destination for those wanting to come out of the cold.
Its location in the Ten Thousand Islands also makes it popular with boaters and those who love to fish, either seriously or recreationally. Kayaking among the mangrove covered islands is a very popular activity. So is bird-watching. Shore birds are everywhere. And you would have to travel the island blindfolded to avoid seeing a pelican.
You will find shopping throughout the island. A recent entry is the 50,000 square foot Esplanade Shoppes located along 1100 feet of Smokehouse Bay waterfront.
The beaches are also very beautiful here. The public beach is Tigertail open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. Here you will find water sports rentals, chair and umbrella rentals and a concession-style restaurant. There are also two resident beaches.
You can launch a boat from Caxambas Park which also has a marina store on site with fuel, snacks, and docking. Keewaydin Island, a by-boat-only accessible island is just a few minutes away offering a near-oval of sandy beaches. Key Island, as it is sometimes referred to, is a popular place for boaters to park and party.
