About Jody Place
We love Somerset Village! Both apartments with balconies, for sipping a glass of wine watching the sunset, are upstairs with its own entrances. We reside in downstairs apartment along with our Electric Bicycle shop. The community is very friendly. Lots to see and do if you enjoy the nature and friendly people :)

Why Jody Place chose Somerset Village
In a quaint and romantic small Downtown. We believe you will enjoy our place if you travel for the purpose of promoting health and wellness through physical activities and relaxation including cultural experience. Sandys is the western most Parish. It's named after Sir Edwin Sandys who made large investments to colonize the parish in early 1600s. The parish name is pronounced as 'Sands'. Sandys has five islands that are joined by bridges. The islands are Ireland Island North, Ireland Island South, Boaz Island, Watford Island and the biggest of all, Somerset Island. The Royal Naval Dockyard where most of the cruise ships anchor, is located at Ireland Island North. Being farthest from the congested Hamilton City, the parish provides refreshing piece and serenity that are quickly disappearing in tourist populated Bermuda.

wonderful place & people
Jody & Cathy are amazingly attentive & the apartment is spotless and well appointed. It has a full kitchen, a beautiful shower/bathroom and is a large space with a great little deck. We thoroughly enjoyed our time & Jody made check-in easy on us. thank you so much!
Don’t hesitate to stay at Jody’s place!
This property was everything advertised. It was clean, the location was amazing and it had all the amenities needed to make for a great vacation. Although not our first time in Bermuda, this was the first time we experienced Somerset Village. I can tell you it won’t be the last!
Great anniversary week!
Had a very relaxing week with fantastic weather. Property was as nice as we expected. Jody helped us with any information we needed. Bus stop is just down street to head to Hamilton or across street to Royal Dockyard. Beautiful view of bay and sunsets. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. People are all very nice and friendly. A real unexpected joy.
As wonderful as we had hoped!
Jody was the best host we have had from VRBO. The Honeymoon Cottage was charming and the view of Mangrove Bay was spectacular. His suggestion of bringing a rolling cooler of food worked out well since groceries there are expensive. The property was immaculate. He even picked up bus passes for us since the office was closed on Sunday’s. He thought of everything and we hope to return soon.
Excellent property, location and area
Firstly, Jody is the perfect host, very helpful, always available, but also leaves you alone if you prefer. He kept us up to date, with good communications beforehand too, which we appreciated - a great personal touch.
We loved Bermuda, but we are also so pleased we stayed in this area. It is just what we wanted, a small community with all amenities. Buses and taxis were easy. The trip to Dockyard for the ferry was simple.
The people were amazingly friendly, with good tips, Fort Scaur being a real find, thanks to a jogger.
The property is clean, tidy, with everything you want. The road can be a little noisy, but it did not detract from a perfect stay. Bed, and bathroom are good, as is the kitchen, should you want to use it. Plenty of literature about the area is inside.
The highlight is sitting on the balcony, taking in the views. Perfect.
We would return without any question, and would recommend this apartment. If you look at it, don't be concerned, it is great :)
A great place for a Bermuda visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed Jody’s place - it was very clean, newly renovated, authentically and historically Bermudian. It is located on the shore line as well as on the major rd. which makes catching bus or taxi an easy thing. Jodi was the most hospitable and welcoming host. An occasional motorcycle could wake up a light sleeper if the balcony door was left open but our baby slept through it, like a good baby should!
We strongly recommend Jody’s place!!!

Naval Royal/Dock Yard, Maritime Museum, Fort Scaur, Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Smallest Draw Bridge in the World, Hog Bay
We LOVE "Hog Bay": This is one of the best kept secrets of the island and very few know about the beach. It is located in Sandy's parish.
So why is Hog Bay Beach so unknown in Bermuda? Because you need to walk quite a bit through a rocky and wooded trail to get to it, and it is only a beach at low tide. During high tide, the beach disappears completely. So the beach is usually available for you to enjoy only for about four hours a day. But for us that's a privileged exclusivity for four long hours, and we thoroughly enjoy the walk through the trail as well. It's a tiny beach at low tide and a beautiful area for swimming and snorkeling. At low tide, the shallows extend some 300 meters into the sea, and is excellent for snorkeling. But you should get hold of a tide chart to time your visit correctly. You can get a tide chart in the website weather.bm for any day.
