Sisters, Debbie Bridgman and Robin Masker grew up in this area. We both graduated from the Lehighton Area School District and moved out of the area living the lives of military wives. After living the military life we settled down in two separate parts of the country. Robin is now a teacher in the St Louis area, and Debbie is a deputy for Broward County in Ft. Lauderdale and owns Blue Herron Ranch in Southwest Ranches, FL.
Robin Masker & Debbie Bridgman purchased this house in 1964
We are sisters, Robin Masker and Debbie Bridgman. In the early 60's our father worked several jobs to provide his family with this house, he even helped build it. This is where we grew up and we have so many memories. When we inherited the house we decided to keep it and put a lot of hard work into renovating and adding our decorating touch to return it to its former glory. Even though our jobs took us to different states, we will always call Pennsylvania our home. We come back to stay in the house often to visit family we have in the area and during the times we aren't there we rent it out as a vacation rental. We hope that you have a pleasant stay and enjoy staying in our home...'the house that built us'.
I stayed at this house for my husband birthday wknd. Me and the family enjoyed every bit of it our favorite spot was the downstairs with the penny bar and pool table and the back patio. I would definitely recommend this house to other people. We also found and seen little baby bunnies behind the house. Which was nice and cool. But overall I would definitely rent the house again most likely a different season. Thank you again Robin and Debbie
We were in town as a group to run the Spartan Super at Blue Mointain. The house was a great space to relax and socialize before and after the race.
We had a lovely time in Debbie and Robin's home! We were three families with small children (9 mo. - 2.5 years) and they layout of the house worked perfectly for us. We were also pleasantly surprised with how kid-friendly Lehighton was, from the playground within walking distance to the kid-friendly public pool. We did have a hiccup with the AC while staying, which couldn't be remedied because it was a holiday weekend, so if you're staying in the summertime and have kids that need to nap in the heat of the day be sure to confirm that the system is in good working order before you go. Would definitely stay again for a family-oriented getaway.
I stayed at the Hinkle Haus with 7 of my friends. The place was ideal for hanging out, grilling, and chatting. It is way bigger than youd think. We were either in the basement or on the covered deck the whole time. Highly recommend.
The owners were easily reachable and accessible throughout the trip, which was a bonus.
We were a group of 8 looking for a peaceful getaway and we found it here! The home was very spacious, but yet very cozy at the same time. LOVED the basement with the bar and pool/ping pong table, the deck where we were able to grill and enjoy a very peaceful lunch, and the fire pit for smores! Great place and will be looking to stay here again in the future. Robin and Debbie were great with responding to questions I had as well!
The Hinkle House is the perfect place to stay for families or groups to hang out after site-seeing or rafting on the Lehigh river. It feels just like home. Beautifully decorated. Ample sitting/hanging out areas. Quiet. Ample parking. The owners are nice to work with...respond to questions/emails quickly. We loved the new screened in area downstairs. The L-shaped couch and swing were a favorite hangout spot. And we loved the pool table! Restaurants and a Wal-mart are just a few minutes away. (Sapores was fabulous!) No complaints here. You will not be disappointed.
There are many activities in every season of the year. Winter we have skiing, ice skating and snowboarding. Spring and Summer there is hiking, white water rafting and biking. Fall is peak fall foliage in the Pocono Mountains and hunting season begins. Throughout the year there are many types of festivals, winery tours and sightseeing.
