After a long day at the beach have the kids roam free in the basement to play, watch the flatscreens, play bumper pool, or play any number of the provided board games, while the adults enjoy the living room flatscreen, brand new kitchen, and glass porch. My home was renovated in 2016. It has 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a full garage with two driveways, a glassed in porch, horseshoe pits, basement bar, flat screen TVs, bumper pool table, and BBQ grill.
The main floor has three bedrooms with queen beds. The basement has another bedroom with 4 twin beds. The common basement room has a pull-out sofabed, flatscreen tv for lounging, a bar for entertaining, and 2 more twin beds. The basement also has a bumper pool table for fun times and refrigerator for additional beverages/lobster! Washer/Dryer are also provided. The main floor has a brand new kitchen with stainless appliances and a living room with brand new furniture. New real maple hardwood throughout. The back porch on the house has glassed in windows and provides for a wonderful outdoor/indoor feel. Fun for evening dining or lounging after a long day at the beach.
This house was taken down to the studs and renovated in 2016. It is a perfect place for whatever your summer needs are. It is located close to the beach for daytime fun, it is near the village for historical sight seeing and guided evening tours, it is also near several restaurants for dining. Or, if you want to stay in a day or two the house has amazing amenities including, 3 flat screen TVs, brand new kitchen, basement bar, bumper pool, indoor/outdoor porch, horseshoe pit, and BBQ grill.
The photos speak for themselves. This place is great, if you have any hesitations please feel free to contact me and I will assure you this is the house to rent to make the most of your summer vacation.
Note: I just finished renovating the house so I do not have an outside photo of the house. It has brand new siding and brand new landscaping. Once I have a good outside photo I will post it. The photo I have of the outside is from Google Earth. Sorry, it was the best I could do.
I am a military helicopter pilot in the United States Air Force, living in Alabama. I have family in York, ME who look after the house and I often visit York and stay in the house.
Joseph Szeniawski purchased this house in 2012
This property is close to the beach but not so close you have to deal with all the noise of traffic and people at night. It's close enough to the beach to walk if you want. It is near the village for historical sights. It is near restaurants for dining and enjoying great Maine lobster. I am an honest straight forward person and will do everything in my power to make your vacation awesome!
My family lives in town so any issues you have can be remedied on the spot, same day. No long-distance issues to resolve or management company headaches. Most houses that sleep this many people are outdated and rent for $4,000 to $5,000 a week in York. Enjoy a freshly renovated home during your vacation. My place is a great deal. The summer is going to be here shortly!
We had a great time! The accommodations worked well for our family. Thanks so much. The D----'s.
The listing description was accurate and the property was very clean and well-maintained.
My family and I had a wonderful time! The house was perfect for us - and had everything we needed.
We loved the horseshoe pits in the backyard - and enjoyed learning to play.
The fire pit was also a great time and we enjoyed sitting by the fire and roasting marshmallows.
The porch is awesome for playing games or having a family meal.
It was so great to have a washer/dryer available so that we could pack light!
The extra fridge came in handy, too.
The neighborhood was quiet and the location was a close drive to beaches and restaurants.
We spent a few days exploring Long Sands Beach (renting surf boards and stand up paddle boards, flying kites) and stumbled across some great restaurants (Stone's Throw and Guac-N-Roll). We also took a day trip to Ogunquit/Perkins Cove for shopping and sight seeing.
We spent evenings at the house: cooking, grilling, playing horseshoes, hanging at the fire pit, and playing games on the porch.
Joseph has great customer service - he sent along all important info/welcome letter promptly and provided a great binder at the house that was filled with important info for the stay.
My family, 7adults and 5 children, had a great time at the beach. This house was fantastic for the children. They had an amazing play area downstairs and their own bed. The back yard was a great play area also. The house was very clean and had plenty of space. It is located in a quiet neighborhood where everyone waved to you. The only thing that would have been an improvement is the beach being within walking distance. Bring lots of quarters for parking. It was also great that I could rent for less than 7 days.
It was a beautiful neighborhood, the home was neat and clean with plenty of room..we had no problem with 10 people staying there..lots of pillows and linens and towels to accommodate everyone..we enjoyed are stay very much..thank you Joe for the use of your home.
The house was very centrally located in York and was pristinely clean. We shared the house with our son and daughter in law and two small grandchildren to be at the Kennebunkport Prelude and York Parade. We were married in York 15 years ago. This house was walking distance from the parade on a very quiet block. We are likely to rent it again when traveling with family. It is definitely five stars in it's category of a local house in a destination town.
This was the perfect property for a multi-generaltional family vacation! We had 6 adults and 2 children 3 and under. It was great to be close enough to get to any place we wanted to be, but also be away from the hustle and bustle of the beach. The yard was beautiful, and a great place to hang out in and for the kids to play. The fire pit was perfect for evening fires and 'smores! The house was clean, spacious, and well maintained. The kitchen was large and well stocked with everything you could need. There were multiple eating areas-indoor, outdoor, and enclosed patio. The beds were comfortable and plentiful. Our granddaughter pretended she was Goldilocks in choosing her sleeping place! The weather was amazing, and the location just perfect for us. Thank you, Joe, for allowing us to use your lovely home!
The house was perfect for 7 adults; roomy, plenty of beds to sleep in, fully stocked kitchen, a lovely, peaceful back yard. Each room of the house was recently painted and renovated, the owner's attention is evident throughout.
We particularly found the directions to the "Basement Bar" amusing...I highly recommend this property if you want to be slightly out of the bustle of downtown, however within walking distance to the Village (and the beach if you enjoy walking some distances- approximately 1.9 miles). We love York, Maine!
York is an amazing summer getaway. The beaches offer great sights and sunbathing during the day. Short Sands has great shopping opportunities and fun bars at night. The Golden Rod is an old-time diner with a candy shop for the kids with in-house hand made taffy. Long Sands beach provides for the best enjoyment of the beach with plenty of space to spread out and relax. Harbor Beach is the smallest of the beaches but it is where you will find the locals and get the best tips on things to do in town. Mt. Agamenticus offers great hiking and beautiful scenery. York Village is home to historic buildings with guided tours day or night. 'Ghostly Tours' is an amazing evening adventure for the not-so faint of heart. The Bagel Basket is a great breakfast place open very early for the morning bird, with great coffee, bagel sandwiches, wraps, muffins, and drinks. Rt 103 Bridge is a fun place for those who like to do 'bridge jumping.' A popular spot for the local teens looking for a fun summer activity. Wiggly Bridge is a picturesque sight with hiking and biking. Nubble Light House is the most photographed lighthouse in the US. It has a restaurant nearby called Fox's and a souvenir shop. Browne's ice cream is next to the Nubble Lighthouse and has the best ice cream in town--A must visit in the evening after a day at the beach. Fun-O-Rama in short sands offers and arcade and bowling for the fun seekers. Inn on the Blues is a fun bar in short sands. For those looking to see the local bar, Ruby's Brick Oven Grill has a Bar out-back frequented by the locals. The Restaurant out-front of Ruby's is quite nice and separated from the bar. The Union Bluff is a hotel in the Short Sands area with a locally frequented bar on the 1st Floor level, a more low-key option to Inn-on-the-Blues. Excursions Kayaking is tremendous--owner Mike Sullivan runs a great business and provides a unique experience to his customers. The Lobster Pound on US Rt 1 provides true Maine seafood dining. It also has an outdoor bar out back with Bocce and Horseshoes. Always a great experience with colorful locals. Golf is available at 'The Ledges' and at the 'Cape Neddick Country Club.'
For those seeking additional night life opportunities and daytime shopping, Portsmouth NH, is a ten minute drive south on I-95 or US Rt 1. It has a tremendous amount of bars and shops, but it lacks the daytime tranquility and peacefulness York provides. Portsmouth has more of a city atmosphere. Fat Belly's Bar, Portsmouth Brewery, and The Page are good restaurant/bars. The Portsmouth Gaslight offers a night-club feel on the top floor of the 3 floor establishment, it also has an outdoor bar with bands.
