Home sweet away from home.
This is a cabin rental with a story. We hope that you can enjoy the personal touch that not many other vacation rentals can offer.
Mark and Renee met while working in McCall, Idaho. Mark was a smoke jumper and Renee was a fire lookout. Before moving away they purchased the land. After 25+years of saving, and 3 years building with finishing touches, this cabin is now Mark and Renee's home sweet away from home. And now it can be yours too.
We love McCall and to explore all the surrounding areas.
Our family enjoys the time at the cabin more than anything. Lots of memories are made at nearby hot springs, skiing at Brundage ski resort, relaxing on the beach at Payette Lake and of just hanging out at the cabin.
We hope you enjoy the home sweet away from home.
This cabin's covered wrap around deck is enjoyable because it sits right next to a very scenic state forest. We have been known to go huckleberry and morel mushroom hunting right out the door.
We had a wonderful time at Mark and Renee's cabin. It is a beautiful cabin -- they did a wonderful job and is very comfortable. The wrap around porch is a fantastic place to start the day with your cup of coffee and a good book. We also enjoyed the hammock. The cabin has lots of light and beautiful views out onto the woods. We were thrilled to find it.
We also really enjoyed the area around McCall. There in the summer time, we rafted the Salmon River, kayaked on the Upper Payette, rented a pontoon boat and did some fishing on the lake and enjoyed the hot springs close by. We ran out of time and hope to be back to explore some more of the area and enjoy this cabin again. You won't be disappointed. Mark was also very helpful about making sure we had what we needed and all of our questions where answered. You couldn't ask for better hosts -- and the blackberry jam was delicious. We ate it all while we were there!
We stayed at this beautiful home during the Winter Carnival and loved getting away from the crowds in our own peaceful forest setting. The house is so cozy and inviting, and everything was provided for our comfort and convenience.
Spent 3 nights and wondrous days at this beautifully equipped and cozy log home during the 1st week of January! Superb location just far enough out of the way. The setting is beautiful and the very tasteful and well-designed Cabin was extremely comfortable after full day of skiing and activities! The kitchen was so well stocked that we 4 adults mostly stayed in and cooked! Owners were so accommodating in every way that I look forward to coming back soon! Highly recommended!
This place was spotless and had everything we needed. The owners were fantastic and were very flexible to our needs. If we are ever in McCall again, we will definitely stay here!
Our family had such a fabulous vacation at this beautiful cabin last week! Every need was met and we especially enjoyed the wrap-around deck with the view of the woods. Our little granddaughters loved to explore the woods. My husband and I walked into town for breakfast on some of our morning walks. The owners were lovely to work with and the condition of the cabin was immaculate and the beds comfortable. We marveled at the amazing handcrafted furniture. We definitely will book here again on our next trip to McCall.
Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin. We loved how it was built to look back at the endless woods it sits up against. Our kids had a great time exploring the woods and see wildlife daily.
The cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The decore went so well with the rest of the cabin and set the mood for the "outdoors" experience we were looking for.
We'll most surely make an effort to return in the future.
Very nice lodge. Love the 3/4 quarter wrap around porch, watching wildlife from the windows, and rooms are very roomy. Kitchen looking into the living room was great to communicate with everyone. only draw back was parking.... of course it's winter and four large pickups it was small, but we manage! Thanks for allowing us to stay.
This cabin sits right on the edge of state land forest where you can go right out the door into nature, hike, morel mushroom hunting, huckleberry picking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. Even river boarding, kayaking, and hot springs nearby.
