The gazebo and fire ring are great gathering places – and the cottage a perfect respite of warmth and comfort. Fine fishing, mountain biking and forays for all. Looking forward to our return.”

About Jeff and Beth Turner

We are a happily married Christian couple of 30 years with two adult children. Jeff is retired from a career as an engineer in the field of mapping and 3D visualization. Beth spent her early years in banking but is most credited for being available for our children as they grew up. Jeff is an avid fisherman (especially fly fishing - and once fished 50 states in 50 consecutive days with our son); loves boating; woodworking; college basketball & football; and hiking. He even walked the 500 mile Camino de Santiago across Spain in 2014. Beth loves decorating, being a wonderful hostess, and staying connected with family and friends.

Why Jeff and Beth Turner chose Luzerne

In 2009, my son and I fished 50 States in 50 Days. Upon researching the legendary waters of Michigan we found the AuSable to stand apart in so many unique ways. When we fished/floated the AuSable for the first time we were hooked. After several years of searching we finally discovered what is now known as the Copper Fox Lodge. Its uniqueness, setting, and beauty can only be appreciated in person.

Beautifull private cabin right on the river!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was absolutely perfect with all kinds of special touches, they did not miss a thing! The outside property was just as nice from the nice wood furniture around the fire pit, very well stocked firewood, very nice wood furniture by the water and at the top of the small hill overlooking the river, the gazebo, and my wife loved taking pictures of all the blue jays, chipmunks, red squirrels etc. that were around the feeder and the yard every day. I looked up the little hill to where my wife was reading a book while I was trout fishing and I said to her this must be what heaven is like!

Absolutely amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

The website and pictures do not do this cabin and property justice. Perfectly maintained with every amenity you can imagine. The cabin is kept in pristine clean!! The beautiful Au Sable River is steps away, 2 fire pits, outdoor screened gazebo, fully equipped kitchen, grill. The owners made awesome recommendations for dining and canoe rental as well. I would stay here again in a minute!

Like Living in a Fairytale Log Cabin Painting

  • 5 of 5

From the moment of pulling in we were in awe. I immediately said to my family, this looks better than the pictures. Everything from the landscaping to the color and tones of Copper Fox Lodge just melded and exceeded anything I could have even imagined what it was going to be. I already knew this was not going to just be a place sitting on the amazing AuSable River. This was going to be an experience to never be forgotten. And we had not even gotten to the door to step inside! Instantly upon opening the door the combination of wonderfully pleasant scents, light music, refreshing air, and turning to the rear of the cabin, the view of the AuSable River, put us into a euphoric state with huge smiles. Words could not be thought of at the moment. Upon further examination, Copper Fox Lodge is kept immaculately clean. The attention to detail cannot be rivaled. Everything we thought we needed was there. I want to thank Jeff and Beth for accommodating us and working with me to deliver the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience that will not be my last at Copper Fox Lodge. I also want to thank Laurie and Rob for all of the hard work they put in on this property. It absolutely shows from the moment you get out of your vehicle, walk inside, and even once back home when we start asking each other if we noticed the different aspects we found absolutely amazing. Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention, the view and surrounding wilderness of the AuSable River at Copper Fox Lodge are second to none. It was my 1st trip to the AuSable River, and parts of the family I was able to experience this with have been coming up here since 1980, and they were blown away with the scenic beauty of Copper Fox. The pictures that are posted honestly don't do it justice. From ownership to housekeeping, this is a group of people that you can tell truly care about the quality of your AuSable River experience, take pride in the property they own/take care of, and are just amazing people to interact with. Any questions were answered and Laurie was the best. Thanks again, Jeff and the Copper Fox family for allowing us to experience this little beautiful cabin on the AuSable River.
