About Jeff and Beth Turner

We are a happily married Christian couple of 30+ years with two adult children. Jeff is retired from a career as an engineer. Beth spent her early years in banking but is most credited for being available for our children as they grew up. Jeff is an avid fisherman (especially fly fishing - and once fished 50 states in 50 consecutive days with our son); loves boating; woodworking; college basketball & football; and hiking. He even hiked the 500 mile Camino de Santiago across Spain in 2014 and 110 mile Tour du Mont Blanc in the Alps in 2017. Beth loves decorating, being a wonderful hostess, and staying connected with family and friends.

Why Jeff and Beth Turner chose Luzerne

Gorgeous log cabin with upscale furnishings and touches. A cozy stone fireplace. Incredible riverfront views. Towering pine trees. A legendary trout stream teeming with fish. Located in the heart of the Huron National Forest. Close to everything in the AuSable River region. This is an atmosphere most people never get to experience first hand. We love sharing our cabin with others and we love making your stay a vacation to remember!

What makes this cabin unique

Romantic Getaway Destination. Rare upscale vintage property on the banks of the AuSable River.

Guestbook comments from the owner

When arriving at the cabin you instantly feel relaxed! The sights and sounds make you feel like you're a million miles away from the stresses of the real world! The property is absolutely beautiful. It snowed everyday we were there and it was absolutely beautiful. We loved watching the birds, squirrels, and even deer come close to the cabin! Inside is so rustic and cozy! The cabin is incredibly clean and has everything you need! Full kitchen was great, the beds were great and super comfortable, and the fireplace just made you feel so nice and relaxed! My husband and I throughly enjoyed our 4 days at the cabin and look forward to going back again! Owners are wonderful and very quick to respond! Overall, as someone that relies heavily on online reviews I was very pleased with this experience and can't wait to go back again soon!

Heaven is Real!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we drive in we were captivated. Copper Fox Lodge is truly a magical setting. The AuSable River is gorgeous and flows right below the cabin. Our cares simply washed away as we sat and watched the river and nature float by. It gets even better when you walk inside. The cabin is a dream. We’ve never seen furnishings this fine in any cabin rental – EVER. These owners have set the bar high in every respect. Comfort, comfort, comfort. We just couldn’t get over every detail that the owners addressed – they truly wanted to make our experience special – and it was. The river view from the cabin is to die for. We never wanted to leave. Private, serene, and romantic are perfect words. Pictures can not do justice to this place. Simply OUTSTANDING!

Peaceful - Magical - Perfection

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is a true gem, the most welcoming place I've ever stayed in when heading north. I knew it was going to be a great place, and it still exceeded my expectations from the moment I entered! The lights were on, music playing, fireplace going, and a bottle of wine along with fresh-baked banana bread and welcome note awaited me. The cabin is decorated to perfection and by far the cleanest I have ever seen, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I went thru ten pounds of black sunflower seeds and peanuts, plus a wood pecker suet, all bought in town, and delighted in all of the bird species, Keeping track of what I saw, not to mention all of the different types of squirrels! I saw my first eagles, which was thrilling, along with great white egrets, flying by daily! I will definitely be back to stay at this little piece of heaven again, with my young-adult kids, hopefully late summer when we can try our hand at fishing! This is the perfect place to unplug. Thank you for being so generous and sharing it with visitors!

Copper Fox Lodge is extremely well appointed, very clean, and in a moderately remote area with lots of Wildlife. The cabin has all anyone could wish for for a restful stay. Ownership is very responsive, with great communications. Definitely wish to return.
