While relaxing on the chaise lounges at the pool, listen for the exotic animals, like howler monkeys and exotic birds.
A short 10 min walk down the beach takes you to the town center, where you can enjoy various shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Many excellent local shops and restaurants await you. The beaches in Tamarindo are some of the most beautiful. Enjoy surfing, snorkeling, fishing, catamaran tours, or just laying in the sun on the beach. You can walk up or down the beach for miles in either direction and discover white and black sand beaches. This really is a beautiful vacation destination.
We just returned after staying a week at this house in Tamarindo Preserve. After reviewing at least 50 properties in the Guanacaste Province that fit the need of 3 adult couples we chose this property based on its description of, quiet location, private pool, close convenient access to the beach and the Langosta Beach Club, completely furnished kitchen as well as an entertainment system with tv and stereo with outdoor speakers. The three wives in our group made the final decision based on these factors and lets just say two of them started crying the minute we arrived due to disappointment. The house is in a "Secured" subdivision right on the main road from Tamarindo to Langosta. The security is a manned gate anybody and everybody can walk through. It also has night time security people walking the property which honestly became quite creepy when they'd walk through the back yard and pool area of the rental. The noise and dust was miserable from the road that was literally 10 yards from the property line backing to the pool area. Day 2 we discovered the dishwasher didn't work and after making repeated calls to JaunRo and Stephano the two assigned concierge we finally got a new dishwasher on day 6. We stayed 7. It would have been tolerable if we could hand wash dishes but the kitchen had no hot water (rest of the house did). "Convenient close beach access" is an absolute misrepresentation. After walking through the security gate it was still another 10-15 minute walk to the beach through other houses in the area or cut through paths from the main road. We actually discovered Playa Langosta was closer. The Langosta Beach Club was ok, but the staff generally are rude and the prices of food which is average at best and drink is as high as anywhere in Tamarindo. Unit was cleaned on day 3 and housekeeping took all the towels in the house and didn't replace any of the them at the time they left. After two calls to the concierge and 24 hours later we got a few clean towels that we had to wash ourselves. The stereo system set up is great with outdoor speakers, but surprise, it didn't work. We all VRBO to reduce travel expenses allowing for meals in. We ended up spending significantly more than the RIU we've stayed at 2 times in the past due to the problems with the kitchen. Beds are comfortable, outdoor furniture is comfortable, a few area businesses Walters and Watermans were the only highlights. My suggestion...stay elsewhere!
Tamarindo has some of the best surfing, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, sunset catamaran tours, and turtle excursions available.
