Fabulous!!!

  • 5 of 5

A fabulous house and setting. So comfortable and open. We loved the view and sound of the river. The kitchen was an absolute pleasure. We brought groceries but a few times went to the local market for the few items we needed. The neighbors we met were so friendly and even our dog met another Airedale while on a walk. Thank you for sharing your home. I love this house!!!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We (myself and my two young adult sons) and two poodles had a fabulous time at the Smith River for Thanksgiving 2015 - thank you so much for making your lovely home available. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, comfortable living room, and the fire was great as it was pretty cold! I also really appreciated the well stocked herbs and spices etc. I also appreciated the excellent cooking equipment that was available and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Some great hikes nearby and the folks in the forest service information station were so helpful. We fished but had no success - I think the river was maybe too low. I do hope we can return sometime soon, maybe in the warmer months and enjoy the deck!

Smith River House

  • 5 of 5

Awesome experience on the Smith River! We loved this property, especially the kitchen and the deck! Compliments to the artistic value in some of the home's details and the overall aesthetic! The reference guide was also very much appreciated. My only wish would be a staircase to allow for river access from the home. On the other hand, hiking up to Stoney Creek was the highlight of our trip. We also really enjoyed tubing downriver. We're thankful for the use of the bicycles as they allowed for us to explore and gain some essence of the neighborhood. There are some private roads where dogs patrol their territory. I made sure to check the road signs after venturing down one of these. Finally, we were very fortunate to have our own furry friends with us during the trip. The home was the most accomidating home away I've yet to experience. Thanks for having us!

Riverfront Smith River Home

Beautiful home and location! You can hear the river in the house and it is great to sleep to. Wonderful back deck and outdoor fireplace. The house is clean, clean, clean. Everything you could need in the kitchen. Laundry room was spotless with new washer and dryer. The towels in the bathrooms were new and fluffy and the bedding was crisp and white. Would recommend to anyone that wants to relax, see beautiful redwoods, or just read on the deck!

The Smith River is one of the crown jewels of the National Wild and Scenic River System, which recognizes and protects rivers across the country. More than three hundred miles of the Smith River System are designated wild and scenic, more than any other river in the country. The emerald-green Smith River flows freely and naturally, without a single dam, for its entire length—the only major system in California to do so.

Hiking in this area is fabulous. If you enjoy communing with nature this area and retreat is the perfect match for your rejuvenation and inspiration.
