William Clark purchased this cottage in 2006
Purchased at Bear Lake Reserve for it's natural beauty and outdoor activities. Owned property at the beach for years and decided we needed something quiet and relaxful.
Love spending time on the lake, sitting on the rear deck enjoying the mountain views and the cozy fire.
The property was great--excellently decorated and furnished. I can definitely see this property as a great location for wedding parties with upstairs and downstairs balconies, bar, media room, etc. We enjoyed playing foosball and just sitting out on the balcony at night by the fireplace and enjoying the peace and quiet then coming in and enjoying a nice steam shower. There's a massive VHS/DVD collection all over the house for your watching. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again.
Beautiful house! Has everything you need to settle in and relax. Nicely decorated and furnished, lots of space!
We stayed in this wonderful cabin during the weekend of our daughter's wedding at Castle Ladyhawke. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the picturesque setting and the amenities included in this beautiful cabin. The visit from the official greeter was very informative and helpful in getting us acquainted with the cabin and the surrounding area. We loved the decor, the layout and the proximity to the entrance of Bear Lake Reserve as it allowed us to have quicker access to Castle Ladyhawke. Our only regret with our stay was that we were so busy with wedding festivities during the weekend that we did not have a chance to just relax and sit on the deck with a roaring fire or enjoy all the amenities that the cabin and Bear Lake have to offer! We certainly plan to return in the future!
High Country Lodge is a lovely, well appointed home. The homeowner and caretaker were very attentive. All of our questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner, and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
We loved the house and views...the lake and resort were amazing! Prettiest lake I have ever seen! Will definitely be coming back!
We took our family vacation to Mr. Clark's beautiful home at Bear Lake Reserve for a week in August. He and his family didn't miss a detail. The house is stunning and so are it's views, all you need to pack is your clothing and food, kitchen to baths are fully stocked. Upon check-in you'll be greeted by the knowledgeable Brandon, Mr. Clark's personal concierge. Brandon knows all so pick his brain. Bear Lake Reserve has a lot to offer, the Lake House with pools, gym and restaurant along with the 9 hole golf course are all first class. We highly recommend taking advantage of the water rentals, the pontoon boat and jet skis were great entertainment and very cost effective. The house is very comfortable, it's great for families. We spent many nights playing games and making home cooked meals. Bear Lake Reserve is in a remote local so you want to bring food and drink with you. It's not a short drive to get either. The towns of Cashier and Waynesville are with in an hour's drive, both are charming and offer nice restaurants. Cheer to Mr. Clark - you're home is wonderful.
