William Clark purchased this cottage in 2006
Purchased at Bear Lake Reserve for it's natural beauty and outdoor activities. Owned property at the beach for years and decided we needed something quiet and relaxful.
Love spending time on the lake, sitting on the rear deck enjoying the mountain views and the cozy fire.
The High Country felt like a bespoke lodge for our family of (6). There was something for us all: (2) Adults, (2) 17 year old girls, and 12 year old and 13 year old boys. Every detail, in the lodge, was considered; from the layout, to the furnishings. If we ever started to feel too much togetherness, there were plenty of "spaces" to escape to. High Country Lodge is a great place to just "exist" and "escape" from the world, for a while. We had a great and relaxing time.
The house was nicer and larger than in the pictures. Everything was beautiful. The grand children loved the trout pond that was walking distance from the lodge. The club with its two pools, two jacuzzis and a beautiful beach on the lake were amazing. We will be back.
We had a wonderful time staying at the High Country Lodge! We were visiting the area for a wedding at Castle Ladyhawke, and this was the perfect place to stay.
This home has so much personality and was so clean! Comfortable beds, great showers, and excellent kitchen appliances, pots, pans, dishes, knives, etc! Beautiful view and outdoor deck fireplace ( plenty of wood and fire starting materials provided!) Great deck for star gazing. Lots of games, great multi- media functions and everything works! Owners great to work with and Brandon the concierge was very helpful and friendly. Everything in this beautiful home is organized, comfortable and attractive! The Lake Club is extraordinary ! Beautiful pool, pristine grounds and lake, helpful, friendly staff
The High Country Lodge sits back in the Lap of Luxury tucked into the wilderness setting of Bear Lake. The lodge has all of the amenities of the city with the woodsy setting of the Appalachians. This lodge provides everything you need except food which you can bring or it can be prepared at the Bear Lake Reserve clubhouse along with the other country club amenities. Swim in the pool, paddle across the lake, motor along the coves or ski around the lake, or just decompress in this idyllic setting reading a book. Whatever your pleasure, I'm confident you will find it at this picturesque location.
This place is great. Many extra details you won't find elsewhere because the owner is a custom builder who has added spectacular upgrades. There is a steam shower that you will absolutely love. I had been out kayaking and hiking and came back chilled and that steam shower felt wonderful and warmed me up much faster than a conventional hot shower. Many more amenities and everything you could want. Great view on two balconies and outdoor fireplace. This house has a great location within the community as well. I had a great time and hope to stay there again. Thanks, Bill, for everything. Great time.
