AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

We took our family vacation to Mr. Clark's beautiful home at Bear Lake Reserve for a week in August. He and his family didn't miss a detail. The house is stunning and so are it's views, all you need to pack is your clothing and food, kitchen to baths are fully stocked. Upon check-in you'll be greeted by the knowledgeable Brandon, Mr. Clark's personal concierge. Brandon knows all so pick his brain. Bear Lake Reserve has a lot to offer, the Lake House with pools, gym and restaurant along with the 9 hole golf course are all first class. We highly recommend taking advantage of the water rentals, the pontoon boat and jet skis were great entertainment and very cost effective. The house is very comfortable, it's great for families. We spent many nights playing games and making home cooked meals. Bear Lake Reserve is in a remote local so you want to bring food and drink with you. It's not a short drive to get either. The towns of Cashier and Waynesville are with in an hour's drive, both are charming and offer nice restaurants. Cheer to Mr. Clark - you're home is wonderful.

A wonderful, relaxing stay in the mountains in a beautiful mountain-home

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a full week in this beautiful mountain home and could not be more satisfied. The home is exactly what you would imagine a mountain home looking like, inside and out. It has two levels and both are perfect for families or entertaining. There are televisions throughout the home and plenty of bedrooms both up and downstairs to include double bunk beds that will accommodate four children (or those who are simply young at heart). The separate, downstairs TV/play room for children was a real bonus also. The nights we spent in the great room with a roaring fire in the fireplace (watching the big-screen TV) viewing our favorite movies, was a treat. Overall, the whole house looks like it should be featured in the Architectural Digest magazine. It was impeccably appointed and spotless. If you have questions or need anything, just contact the Reserve's property manager Brandon.

The home is spacious and situated at the end of a picturesque street that provides a short walk to the Bear Lake Reserve's Greeter's Cottage that we would walk to each morning; and where I would throw frisbee with my two grandsons daily behind the Cottage in the large field and amphi-theater.

The home provides a back deck that looks out onto the mountains with its own open-air fireplace. The one evening we sat there and watched a rainstorm play out over the mountains and saw the rain, the fog, the clouds, etc was magical.

The Reserve's Clubhouse is a 5.1 mile drive through winding mountain roads that afford a beautiful ride with plenty of scenery to enjoy and provide a chance to anticipate and discuss your upcoming day at the two pools, hot tub, large lake (with pontoon boats, jet skis, and kayaks), Clubhouse, hiking trails and nearby golfing. Be sure to save an evening or two to eat outside on the Clubhouse terrace where the great food is matched by the lake view.

Needless to say (any further) ....we loved this home and Bear Lake Reserve and would definitely recommend it.

beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

High Country Lodge is a beautiful, well pointed home. I can't think of a single thing that was lacking. The quality of the home is outstanding. There were movies, books, lots of extra towels and blankets. We had a group 26 staying in 4 houses and this house was our gathering place because it was so spacious and even included 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers. My family loved the pool and lake combination at the lake club. We had been warned about the drive to the club, so that did not bother us...we just spent the entire day there whenever we went. I would definitely recommend this house and the owner's other properties for a large group event.

No Detail Left Unturned

  • 5 of 5

The High Country felt like a bespoke lodge for our family of (6). There was something for us all: (2) Adults, (2) 17 year old girls, and 12 year old and 13 year old boys. Every detail, in the lodge, was considered; from the layout, to the furnishings. If we ever started to feel too much togetherness, there were plenty of "spaces" to escape to. High Country Lodge is a great place to just "exist" and "escape" from the world, for a while. We had a great and relaxing time.

Our family had a great time. The house was perfect and Mr. Clark had everything well organized.

  • 5 of 5

The house was nicer and larger than in the pictures. Everything was beautiful. The grand children loved the trout pond that was walking distance from the lodge. The club with its two pools, two jacuzzis and a beautiful beach on the lake were amazing. We will be back.
