One Bedroom luxury appartment right at the best beach: North Beach

One bedroom apartment with all the comforts one needs for a beach holiday. Is completely family friendly, ideal for small families or couples who are looking for a luxurious and confortable apartment with full kitchen and laundry room.

The location of the apartment is the top asset of the property. Located within the property of the Na Balam Beach hotel and SPA. Although not promoted through the hotel, this property is owned by the hotel owners and promoted only as a vacation rental apartment for weekly basis rentals or longer. It has full access to the hotel´s amenities with discounts on both hotel´s restaurants and bars: Zazil Ha Restaurant and beach club and Fenix Lounge and beach club. Both offer a 10% discount on all tabs for the apartment´s residents. Also free access to the hotel´s beach club and sun beds with no extra charge, to the hotel´s pool area and amazing new Jacuzzi, access to the hotel´s yoga center, which charges a flat rate to all visitors of USD$ 15 per class (Vastu Yoga).

The apartment includes daily maid service if required with extra cost. With normal payment includes only once a week full cleaning and sheets and towel change.

The apartment includes: master bedroom with king size bed, two bed side tables and reading lights, independent air conditioner unit, LED medium size TV and DVD player, cable TV, safe deposit box, closet and an amazing art and lighting features ideal for a romantic down light evening. Bedroom opens to a vestibule which then connects to the living area.

Living area includes a dining table and two sofa lounges, which can both be made into two individual beds. Full kitchen with: large size refrigerator, electric stove with 4 burners, microwave, coffee machine, and fully equipped for long term rentals: pans, glasses, plastic glasses, salad bowls, 6 sets of plates and silverware, can opener, whine opener, and basically all the amenities for cooking. It also includes a counter bar for having breakfast or dinner close to the cook.

The apartment has only one full bathroom with minimal and new fixtures: toilet, sink and shower and is accessible to the living area, only a door away from the master bedroom. The living area has a LED 42” TV with DVD player and cable TV.

The laundry room includes washing machine and drying is done in the exterior courtyard. Extreme sun is available 95% time of the year. In case of a sunless day, the laundry room has a stainless steel drying rack. Laundry room has also a huge closet area for guests staying in the living room, and enough storage space for diving equipment, fishing gear or so.

It has a courtyard and small garden with a built in fixed queen size sun bed, ideal for private sunbathing or reading in the evenings while experiencing the passing of birds and local reptiles, as iguanas. The courtyard has also an exterior table for dining or enjoying the tranquility of this peaceful apartment.

The architecture of the apartment is Mexican contemporary. The cladding of walls made with pre-Hispanic ancient Mayan techniques. Giving the spaces an interesting flare of ancient, yet contemporary finishes. The interiors are all in white and all the furniture is made of tropical wood.

The apartment includes Mexican antique art pieces and has different local artisan’s floor tiling and finishes.

This apartment´s proximity to the Island´s top beach and the access to the Island´s top boutique hotel make this affordable luxury apartment into ones of the island´s top vacation rental properties.

Only a five minute walk to the downtown of Isla Mujeres, and direct access to the amazing natural surroundings make this beautiful apartment a top place.

Young Mexican couple with 28 years old and 40, have three kids. Santiago is the owner of the Na Balam Beach Hotel and of this property.

He holds a Masters in Architecture degree for Parson´s Design School in NYC. Studied and lived in NYC for 6 years, and has also studies in BA and Economics.

She is a proud mother of 3 beautiful kids and is also a designer.

Santiago comes from Tepoztlán Morelos, near Cuernavaca and Monica is from Leon Guanajuato near San Miguel de Allende. Both from proud Mexican families and both speak fluent English.

It was OK. Hotel complex very nice.

Positives: the hotel complex is located on the nicest beach on the island; restaurant is nice, staff is wonderful; mattress was very comfortable, AC worked great. There are better options available for us but for a family with small children this could be a perfect option.

We arrived after the 3:00 pm check-in time and the place was still not ready. We had been traveling since 4:30 am so it was a bummer to be told we could not have the apartment right away. I must say the staff was really nice and welcoming though. Once we had the apartment, it was just as nice as the pictures except that you are located on the side of the road next to the reception area and not near the pool as the picture might suggest. The hotel itself is really nice with a beautiful beach and decent restaurant. The apartment it not a great location relative to the hotel and for the price. There is no view other than the wall in the tiny courtyard. There were a couple of issues with the apartment and the most annoying one was an unreliable wi-fi connection. The staff tried to fix the issue but to no avail. We had to reset the router all the time or ask the front desk to reset the master router. If you need wi-fi to stay connected to work while away, this is not the place for you. We also had issues with hot water. My daughter took a couple of cold showers which thankfully isn't so bad when it's 80 outside but still worth knowing if that's a problem for you. Overall it was as pricey as a junior suite with a view and knowing what I know now, I would have gone with the junior suite. Plus if you want to cook anything, you literally need to buy everything as there isn't even liquid dish soap to clean up and you are contractually required to clean up the dishes. We had no intention to cook but we used a couple of glasses and we cleaned them with water only (next renter beware!).

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback! I would like to apologize for any inconvenience with the poor wifi connection. Unfortunately service in Mexico, specially in Isla Mujeres is pretty bad. I am sure most American tourists are used to having the fastest internet available even in public spaces. I would say the client was a bit unlucky with the hot water. We had a huge problem with the heating system for the whole hotel. It's is now fixed and we won't have that issue again. As for the rest of the coments, I would ask a bit more tolerance when people travel. We offer a full kitchen. That doesn't mean we need have washing soap, detergent or any product ready. We offer maid service for a very reasonable price. Something in US would be unthinkable of. And there are shops very close by. I can argue that though the apartment doesn't face the ocean, nor the pool area. It's a cozy and very comfortable place to be 60 feet away from one of the top 10 beaches world wide. I can argue that people expect always Mexico to be cheap. Isla Mijeres is far from that. And even so I have stayed in road side motels in US that are more expensive that being in Paradise! You can probably find beautiful properties in Isla Mujeres. Though I presume none have 24 hour security, 24 hour maintenance staff, spa, yoga, paddle surf, beach club, and all the services of a great hotel. Hope our next clients can trust that there are just people that travel to other countries to relax and end up stressing about things that overall can't compare to the positive.

The best apartment on Playa Norte!

My wife and I rented this apartment for a week's stay for our 10 year wedding anniversary. First of all, the owners of the property were very easy to talk to as they responded quickly with every question I had through email. They helped arrange door to door taxi service and greeted us at the front desk. it's right off the hotel lobby so you're always steps away from WiFi (we used that everyday to talk to our children). The restaurant is one of the best on the island. We had the seafood sampler which has shrimp, octopus, scallops and crispy white fish along with a ginger sauce. I would recommend it! Truly one of the best beaches on the island. You'll notice that snorkeling excursions pay to come to this beach. As for the room, It's a perfect place to relax and unwind from a long day of sight seeing or a long night of mojitos. The kitchen was a perfect size. Large fridge, cook top stove, all the utensils you would need. The patio off the living room is great. Secluded with flowers and foliage everywhere. You'll see little anoles. The staff was wonderful. Clean, quite place to rest our heads. The air conditioning works great.

We'd recommend this place to anyone.

nabalam apartment

my family stayed in this apartment for 5 weeks. the apartment is wonderful. pleasing architecture/design. it's on the best beach on isla mujeres. the restaurant is wonderful. the staff was really eager to please and extra sweet to our children. our 2 year old was especially pampered by the bar staff. we have been coming to isla mujeres for our summer vacation for 6 years and we will be back next year again.

nabalam is a class act. very professional in every way. the entire staff made us feel like it was our home away from home. we'll be back!!!
