About Craig Johnson

This gorgeous property is what I call home. Situated on two very private acres yet very close to all shopping and restaurants I could not ask for a nicer spot to have grown up in and now raise my own family here. My Grandfather bought this property in 1901 and it has remained in my family ever since. Family means everything to me and my fondest memories are with my family right here and I know yours will be too.

Craig Johnson purchased this cottage in 1901

Why Craig Johnson chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

It's like stepping back in time to a more quite and peaceful time.

There are very few properties that are left on Lake Winnipesaukee that are not spoiled by over development and million dollar homes stacked on top of each other. You can relax here and do your own thing and enjoy your privacy.

Perfect lake cottage stay

  • 5 of 5

We simply agree with the prior reviews. Listing description was candid, photos were accurate, no surprises. Property very clean, well-maintained, and kitchen well-provisioned in terms of dishes, pots and pans, kitchen tools, etc. Grill worked perfectly! Yes, I would recommend to a friend. We enjoyed Lago in Meredith and the "Naswa" beach bar. Quiet property, perfect for us.

Great spot on the water for an affordable price.

  • 4 of 5

Our party of three stayed in the Craig's smallest unit at the base of the hill on his property. We were able to bring our Maltese and German Shepard. There was plenty of grass for the dogs to sit on and enjoy the sun and breezes off Lake Winnipesaukee. Though small, the cottage was comfortable. The WiFi was a bonus feature. The sunsets on Paugus Bay were beautiful. Nearby restaurants and stores made it convenient for us.Craig was able to take care of a hornets nest outside and mentioned that he might provide Keurig coffee Brewers for next season when he saw me carrying mine from home. He was kind enough to help bring our bags out to my car on departure day. The only improvement would be installing good vinyl flooring to make clean up easier. We were thankful for the 2 window AC units to cool us off later in the day. All 3 of us would like to come back next season. Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed "our waterfront cottage."

Absolutely perfect lakeside getaway

  • 5 of 5

Rustic yet modern & extremely clean and comfortable, this fully-equipped cabin sits right on Paugus Bay -- literally! Four large windows offer a view of the water and tree-covered opposite shore (golden autumn foliage during our stay). The cabin is secluded, surrounded by trees, and has all the comforts of home, including a big-screen TV with hundreds of channels, Wi-Fi, and a kitchen well-stocked with pots, dishes, coffeepot, etc. The owner's terrific - he gives you your space but responds very quickly to questions, etc. Try O's Steak and Seafood in nearby Laconia for to-die-for lobster mac-and-cheese. Shoppers will enjoy nearby antique stores and Long View Country Store, but the location is also a centrally located for day trips to the North Country, south to Concord, or east or west to Maine and Vermont. We absolutely loved this cabin & owner Craig Johnson and felt like we hit the jackpot finding such a perfect place at an affordable price.

Another AWESOME vacation at a Johnson Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a another wonderful stay on the Johnson property. This is our second year staying at one of the cottages on the property. This year we stayed at the cottage right on the waterfront on Paugus Bay.

We arrived to an immaculate cottage that was stocked with everything we needed. It was perfectly suited for a couple and my husband and I both felt thoroughly at home.

Wi-Fi connectivity was great and did not drop at all the entire week we were there. I had to check in at work for few times and had no issues at all.

We loved this cottage so much, we have already booked again for next year.

I loved the fact that Craig Johnson, the owner, even came down to say goodbye and asked us if there was anything they could do to make the our stay more enjoyable. Love that customer service!!

Thanks so much to the Johnson family for sharing their beautiful property with us.

Best Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in July at this beautiful little beach house. We were blessed with a week of perfect weather which helped to make our vacation the best we've had. Craig was very pleasant and accommodating. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. It was quiet and secluded and we weren't bothered much by the guests in the condo behind us who had their own private beach. The bay water was clean and comfortable for swimming. Thanks Craig. We can't wait to return next summer!

Spectacular week on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the very cozy and private cottage on the lake. Don't be fooled by its size - the cottage had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing vacation. Wonderful views of the lake and sunset, comfy chairs and couch to watch the large TV, fully appointed kitchen and comfy bed!! It is such a surprise that you can have the privacy of this spot yet be minutes from abundant activities and restaurants. Our favorites included Kitchen Cravings in Gilford for breakfast, Lakeside Deli in Meredith for lunch and Tavern 27 in Laconia for an amazing Tapas dinner. Can't think of a single thing to make it better!!
