About Craig Johnson

This gorgeous property is what I call home. Situated on two very private acres yet very close to all shopping and restaurants I could not ask for a nicer spot to have grown up in and now raise my own family here. My Grandfather bought this property in 1901 and it has remained in my family ever since. Family means everything to me and my fondest memories are with my family right here and I know yours will be too.

Craig Johnson purchased this cottage in 1901

Why Craig Johnson chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

It's like stepping back in time to a more quite and peaceful time.

There are very few properties that are left on Lake Winnipesaukee that are not spoiled by over development and million dollar homes stacked on top of each other. You can relax here and do your own thing and enjoy your privacy.

What makes this cottage unique

Absolutely perfect lakeside getaway

  • 5 of 5

Rustic yet modern & extremely clean and comfortable, this fully-equipped cabin sits right on Paugus Bay -- literally! Four large windows offer a view of the water and tree-covered opposite shore (golden autumn foliage during our stay). The cabin is secluded, surrounded by trees, and has all the comforts of home, including a big-screen TV with hundreds of channels, Wi-Fi, and a kitchen well-stocked with pots, dishes, coffeepot, etc. The owner's terrific - he gives you your space but responds very quickly to questions, etc. Try O's Steak and Seafood in nearby Laconia for to-die-for lobster mac-and-cheese. Shoppers will enjoy nearby antique stores and Long View Country Store, but the location is also a centrally located for day trips to the North Country, south to Concord, or east or west to Maine and Vermont. We absolutely loved this cabin & owner Craig Johnson and felt like we hit the jackpot finding such a perfect place at an affordable price.

Another AWESOME vacation at a Johnson Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a another wonderful stay on the Johnson property. This is our second year staying at one of the cottages on the property. This year we stayed at the cottage right on the waterfront on Paugus Bay.

We arrived to an immaculate cottage that was stocked with everything we needed. It was perfectly suited for a couple and my husband and I both felt thoroughly at home.

Wi-Fi connectivity was great and did not drop at all the entire week we were there. I had to check in at work for few times and had no issues at all.

We loved this cottage so much, we have already booked again for next year.

I loved the fact that Craig Johnson, the owner, even came down to say goodbye and asked us if there was anything they could do to make the our stay more enjoyable. Love that customer service!!

Thanks so much to the Johnson family for sharing their beautiful property with us.

Best Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in July at this beautiful little beach house. We were blessed with a week of perfect weather which helped to make our vacation the best we've had. Craig was very pleasant and accommodating. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. It was quiet and secluded and we weren't bothered much by the guests in the condo behind us who had their own private beach. The bay water was clean and comfortable for swimming. Thanks Craig. We can't wait to return next summer!

Spectacular week on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the very cozy and private cottage on the lake. Don't be fooled by its size - the cottage had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing vacation. Wonderful views of the lake and sunset, comfy chairs and couch to watch the large TV, fully appointed kitchen and comfy bed!! It is such a surprise that you can have the privacy of this spot yet be minutes from abundant activities and restaurants. Our favorites included Kitchen Cravings in Gilford for breakfast, Lakeside Deli in Meredith for lunch and Tavern 27 in Laconia for an amazing Tapas dinner. Can't think of a single thing to make it better!!

Incredibly relaxing, the perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had an incredible time at this little piece of paradise in NH. The cabin itself it absolutely perfect for a couple. You could use the pull out couch for two children but it might be a little tight. There is only one bedroom.

For the two of us and our dog it was exactly the right size!

The cabin has everything you will need- all appliances, tv, wifi, comfortable furniture and best of all a sunroom that overlooks the water. Sitting in the chairs, listening to the waves lap up against the cottage with a cup of coffee in the morning- it doesn't get much better than that!

The swimming area is clean and clear, we enjoyed many hours sitting by the water. It is relatively private, there is another property near by, but we were never bothered by noise. It was the perfect tranquil spot.

If you are looking for day trips, it is a short drive to the Weir's beach and there are numerous restaurants and shops nearby. We went on a wonderful hike on Belknap Mountain, which was about a 15 minute drive away.

Craig is fantastic, the app that he provides upon check in has all the information you will need for your stay and if there is absolutely anything else you need he is very accessible and will respond quickly.

I really cannot say enough great things about this property. We had a fantastic time and cannot wait to come back next summer!!

Thank you Craig and family for sharing such a special place with us!

Amazing Spot

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a wonderful place. The cabin is the perfect size and has great amenities (large TV, wireless internet, air-conditioning). Plus, it has its own private beach. There is a beach next door for some condos but there were never more than 2 to 6 people on it while we were there.

The cabin was spotless when we arrived and it's clear that the owners take great pride in their property.

The owner (Craig) was extremely helpful and if he needed to let us know about something, he texted right away or came down to the cabin. When we had left, I realized that I forgotten something at the cabin and he put it in the mail the next day. Thanks again for that.

I would highly recommend this cabin. It's a great spot for some rest and relaxation and it was perfect for our dog who we could barely keep out of the water. Also, it's close to a variety of restaurants, two grocery stores, a cinema, drive-in theater, bookstore, pet store and veterinary hospital. I'm already looking forward to next year.
