One of the biggest attractions in South Florida is the Everglades National Park, the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. The Everglades is home to many unique and endangered species such as the Florida panther, manatee, the American Alligator. There is a wide variety of things to do in the Everglades from bird watching to airboats. The Everglades also has a variety of different trails due to the Everglades being the third largest park in the contiguous United States, the trails vary from distance and difficulty level.

Also there are nearby zoo's to visit such as Monkey Jungle, The Metro Zoo, Alligator Farm, and the Miami Sea aquarium.

The Florida Keys is also a very popular attraction of South Florida, the closest key to the property is Key Largo, just 30 minutes away. Near Key Largo is John PenneKamp Coral Reef State Park, it encompasses 70 nautical square miles. It is a great place to go scuba diving, Snorkeling, Kayaking, and riding on the glass bottom boats. Travelers interested in dolphin encounters have many options throughout the keys, Theatre of the sea located in Islamorada its a great place to have dolphin, sea lion, turtle, shark, and sea ray encounters.

The Redland Trail is also very near the house, around 20 minutes away, it includes the Historical Coral Castle, Robert is Here, Schnebly Winery, and R.F. Orchids.

Nice House, Good Location for Everglades Day Trip

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our short stay in Homestead at this house. The owners were very quick to respond to our initial inquiry, as well as a couple of questions that came up during our stay. The house itself is fairly small, but plenty large enough for up to a family of 4. We’ve stayed at many home rentals, and this one had the best equipped kitchen of any we’ve ever seen; in some ways, better than our own house. There was also a nice fenced backyard with gardens and a separate living room.

The only downside were the mattresses. They all felt very cheap and hard. We had to pile up comforters and blankets under the sheets to be able to sleep on them. Some upgraded mattresses or at least some thick foam toppers were all that was lacking from making this a perfect stay.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with this home. The location worked well for seeing both the Everglades and Biscayne National Parks, the purpose of our visit. The rooms are spacious and everything is immaculate. The owners provided information about restaurants and businesses in the area which we found very helpful. The backyard is a well maintained retreat. Dogs barking next door when we pulled in worried us initially, but inside the house we couldn't hear them. The house is very sound. There were some thoughtful extras that we didn't use but others might -- a large stack of beach towels and bath towels, games for kids, and a number of small specialized kitchen appliances. The TV worked easily and a channel guide was provided.

Great place, clean and nice, convenient location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just stayed in this home for a week. We found it conveniently located between Biscayne National Park, Everglades, and the Keys. The home was very clean and had everything we needed/expected. It looked just like the photos. When we returned from our day trips, we really enjoyed relaxing in the privacy of the back yard. It is completely fenced in and very comfortable.

Perfect little home in clean and quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This house was a perfect place to stay for our mother/ daughter trip. The three of us were very comfortable in the very clean home. The backyard is beautiful and we enjoyed a glass of wine under the stars our first night there. Every little detail in the home is thought of from new appliances to a linen closet full of towels. If our travels ever bring us back to the area, we would definitely stay again.
