About Owner/Manager Tom Clarke

We learned to ski as young adults in our mid twenties. We loved the sport so much we knew we had to own property in ski country. When we had children we did not wait to teach them to ski. At three years old they were on the slopes in Sugarbush's Sugar Bear Program. We are both retired now and spend as much time as we can at our VT home when it is not rented. So happy to have purchased and own a beautiful corner of God's splendor known as Vermont.

Owner/Manager Tom Clarke purchased this house in 1982

Why Owner/Manager Tom Clarke chose Sugarbush Mountain

We skied and traveled all over Vermont but I have to say there is no other area more beautiful than the Mad River Valley. It is a Four Season Gem of Nature.

What makes this house unique

It has to be the view off the living room not to mention the proximity to Skiing and golfing.

Very cool!

We enjoyed staying in this ski house. The backyard view was wonderful. Location was great. House was easy. The only thing is that I didn't read the fine print and didn't realize I had to clean the house before I left so it made it a bit more work. I would have been happy to pay someone to do that. Overall the house was clean regardless. Tom Clarke has been a huge help, responding to my messages promptly and provided us with plenty of insight into the area. Our favorite spot was Warren Falls.

Great location, has everything you need.

  • 4 of 5

This is a cozy ski chalet that we rented during the summer. It is very well stocked with everything you need including good washer/dryer, fireplace, and Wifi. The high points are updated bathrooms and firm mattresses, and the place was spotless when we arrived. Negatives are shabby decor, wallpaper, and furniture. And no headboard on the master bed making reading in bed almost impossible, ugh. This area is perfect as a central location for summer activities. Incredible local swimming holes; Burlington, Stowe, and Montpelier within 45 minutes; good local restaurants; lots of water sports; great hiking trails.

Owner's Response: We agree a headboard in the master bedroom would be ideal. Unfortantely with the slopping ceiling of an A frame a headboard would take up too much of the room. Some of the outdated wallpaper is planned to be removed and painted.

Great Ski house

  • 4 of 5

Great place. Would have rated it 5 out 5 if it had a hot tub.

Really close to Sugarbush <10 minutes. 4 wheel drive recommended. Very hilly getting to the place and also Sugarbush.

Owner's Response: As the owner I guess I agree. I would love to have a hot tub at our house also. Unfortunately to maintain it so it is safe for all of our guests is just not practical. I have a hot tub at home in CT and it requires maintenance 3 to 4 times a week to keep the water at a safe level.

Wish we could have stayed longer

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this house, were able to comfortably sleep 8 and host more for dinner (a couple friends from the area), there was plenty of parking and the driveway was nicely plowed. The house is very close to the mountain which was perfect. Had a great time and would rent this house again.

We had a wonderful time in Vermont while we stayed at this nice house . The people are pleasant and the views were incredible . The weather is nice and comfortable . There are tons of activities to do and a swimming hole not even. Few miles up the road .

Great and wonderful weekend

  • 5 of 5

The property was in a beautiful setting, equiped with a lovely deck and a bbq grill (which I think we made use of every night!)

The rooms and house were older, but definitely outfitted with great amenities: fast internet, new shower downstairs, new furniture and appliances. It was really lovely and we've already talked about possibly trying to visit again next year.
