About Amy Painter
My husband and I both grew up in this area and reside within 10 minutes of the cabin. I am an elementary school principal and my husband is the county's Recreation Director. With 3 children, we never have a dull moment.
Amy Painter purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Amy Painter chose Luray
We purchased this property at auction in July 2012. It was a hunting cabin at the site of a hunt club and shooting range. We literally took the cabin down to its bare studs and built back a cabin that we can be proud of....a cabin that is cozy, comfortable, and has all the necessities of life.
What makes this Cabin unique
This cabin has recently been renovated and we take pride in its restructure. We hope that renters will respect our hard work and appreciate nature at its finest.

I greatly enjoyed my stay
Just like the previous comments stated, the cabin was very clean and I loved the fact that there were no nearby neighbors. This trip made for the perfect weekend get away and the cabin had all the necessities needed to cook and relax.
Beautiful and secluded
My husband and I have stayed in our fair share of cabins over the years but this one was the first with no road noise or neighbors. The property is large and serene, all you hear are birds chirping. Our 18 month old enjoyed the yard and the open layout of the cabin. If you are looking for a QUIET getaway, this is your place! We loved the front porch and all the amenities! Thank you for a great long weekend.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. My wife and I and two Granddaughters spent the weekend there. We wanted to get away with just the two of them (11 yr old twins). We visited Luray Caverns and went hiking on one of the trails on Skyland Drive. The cabin was perfect for our needs. We absolutely loved the secluded location, we played volleyball and threw the frisbee in the big yard. We saw deer, a bear (on the trail at Skyland Drive), rabbits, and a number of turtles. The girls had a blast and we did too. Your cabin was perfect for our quick getaway, it had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable. My favorite part is the big front porch and the rocking chairs.
Located 15 minutes from Shenandoah National Park entrance and 25 minutes from restaurants and 'in town ' conveniences makes this cabin an ideal rental. Very clean and comfortable. I saw a lot of wildlife on the property including a bobcat. I highly recommend this cabin.
Logistically effortless. Loved the location and the cabin was very clean. The only complaint I had was a bees nest in the awning over the entryway and there were beetles around the inside despite not having the door open for more than a few seconds at a time. Overall though, was a very pleasant stay.
Excellent place to decompress!
Very pleasant, well maintained and clean cabin. Close enough to both Luray and Skyline Drive but still far enough to provide seclusion. Great front porch that is perfect for rocking and enjoying the view. Definitely returning.
