Enjoy the tropical lifestyle of one of San Juan’s most desirable areas in our beautiful 1 bedroom apartment located on Reina del Mar building, right in front of Isla Verde Beach! The unit has been recently refurbished with very tasteful and charming décor.

We are just 5 minutes away from the San Juan international airport, a 20-minute bus ride to Old San Juan, easy accessible to el Yunque rainforest and within walking distance of my favorite hotels, The Ritz Carlton or El San Juan Hotel, that feature casino, restaurants, and much more.

From the open-air balcony, sit and enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon drink, and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the beach.

Just a few steps from the building entry is a 2-mile strip of white sandy beach, perfect for swimming, tanning, or a fun day at the beach.

Our vacation apartment offers a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, china and glassware. The bedroom has an air-conditioning unit and offers a queen-size bed with an ultra-plush mattress and soft cotton linens.

The bathroom has a tub with rain showerhead and is decorated with soft cotton towels. The living room has a queen size sofa pullout bed, dining table with four chairs, cable TV, 36 ‘’ Plasma TV, high speed Internet and a second air conditioning unit. Additionally, there is a dining table with chairs on the balcony.

The building offers a swimming full, secure parking space with beeper entry, 24/7 access to the beach and in-house operated laundry room. The apartment is within walking distance from a commercial area for daily necessities or entertainment (pharmacy, 24 hour supermarkets, bakery, grocery store, restaurants, public transportation, post office). Isla Verde Avenue has something for everyone. Shop for gifts, visit a cafe, or check out the many hotels, casinos, bars, and nightclubs featuring exciting shows.

Rough start! Great Stay Anyway!

My husband and I were sneaking away for a 5 night stay in Puerto Rico. This place was at Isla Verde. We try to stay in a different section of the island and get to know the people and customs. I LOVE Puerto Rico and its people! We arrived around 5:00 pm hoping to meet someone with the keys. However, to no avail. We called all the numbers on our contract and got message after message about leaving a message! It is at this point that I thought my gullible nature had finally caught up to me. I made two payments and was paid in full and there was no such person or place. The building manager and security tried to help and even offered another place we could rent so we wouldn't be stranded. But I held onto hope and the goodness of human nature. I finally called one number a last futile attempt and a lovely person answered who could not be more apologetic or accommodating. She encouraged us to go to dinner and she would treat and straighten the entire mess out. We reluctantly left our luggage in the apartment which had not been prepared for the newest arrivals. We had a lovely dinner at Lupi's with delicious margaritas with sugar around the rim. When we returned to the apartment all was well! The first 3 hours were stressful, but the rest of our stay was perfect!

The apartment was clean and so comfortable. We had coffee each morning from the balcony on the 14th floor watching a sleepy beach wake up. The beach was a mix of local families and condo owners. The water was clear, refreshing and a relaxing place to spend the day. Pictures that I sent my family were beautiful, but not a true representation of the beauty. The people in our building were kind and caring, asking each day if we were alright or needed anything. The building manager was so,professional and helpful. I feel like we would have been great friends had we stayed longer. The condo was extremely secure and walking into town for dinner was never an issue. There were too many restaurants to try them all, but please go to Metropol for dinner! Great people and delicious food. I wished it wasn't Good Friday because we found great choices we couldn't try. But be sure to order the sangria. Thank you Roy! Also try Sandra's Point, a food station/truck right on the beach. We watched two very hard working women each day come at 9:00am and leave by 7:00pm with the best empanadillas! Yum! I also had a Pina colada in a cold pineapple, I saved and refilled multiple times during our stay as it was $13.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your nice review. The person who helped and make you feel better about the unfortunate situation was me. The owner. As you can read from my reviews, situations like this one you experience had never happened. As I explained, we had an issue with the housekeeper that day. She failed to informed that she had a personal problem and was late to meet with you and late to clean the place. We had a check-out that day and as you can imagine the housekeeper had to move fast. For the inconvenience, I treated you to a nice dinner and gave you a nice consideration so you felt better. I though you were happy. I was not happy because she was late, very irresponsible. She has been a good employer. And I could not be more sorry for her screw-up. I am glad in spite of the lazy start, you had a wonderful time and loved the apartment.

Pros and Cons

Lots of pros with this place, hence the four stars. Older condo, but fairly clean. Absolutely gorgeous views from a great balcony.....spent a fair bit of time there! Only feet away from an excellent beach with lots of shady spots. Close proximity to some great dining locations (i.e. El Alambique!) and easy access to the bus travelling direct (45 minutes) to Old San Juan. To be honest, location and beach were better than anticipated. A couple cons, however, I tried putting a deposit by money order and it was a disaster. Late arrival resulted in my couriering a second money order - only to have it received but misplaced by Mariangel. That bugged me a bit because it cost me extra money to send it! The other issue, and this was a main one for me as it was a priority (along with hearing the ocean from the condo, which of course you can - very well (yay!)). My concern was the lack of a BBQ - which I really enjoy when I am vacationing. I HAD asked, and it was confirmed that there was one. Written documentation states there is a BBQ area...and there is - there is just no BBQ!!! I brought this to the attention of Mariangel shortly after I arrived...and she said she would get back to me....I'm still waiting! My suggestion, of course, is to be a little clearer about what is on the property. I would also note that the beach chairs were greatly appreciated and well used! All in all, a good place - if one is not too desirous of a BBQ!!!

Great Condo

We really enjoyed our stay...condo was comfortable...the view and sound of the ocean was excellent.

The visit was well organized...instructions, directions, reservations etc all went well.

Location was good...right on the to walk to some good restaurants...quick drive to grocer and other amenities.

Parking worked great...also quick access to major roadways to visit other parts of the island...Old San Juan is a 5 minute drive.

Great times! Thank you...

Pleasant, clean apartment in a good location

My wife and I were there January 27 to February 3. When we vacation, we like to have most of our meals in and not be going to restaurants all the time. We also did not want to rent a car. We were looking for a somewhat lazy vacation at the beach. In this context, the apartment was a very good fit. We would not recommend it for a party of 4.

We did not encounter a single mosquito during our stay.

We found the apartment clean and well maintained. The living/dining room is comfortable and well lit, and provides a sweeping view of the ocean. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and a reasonable amount of closet and drawer space. The kitchen is very small and there is no dishwasher; it would be helpful if there were a small drain tray in the space to the right of the sink. There is something of a shortage of dinnerware (4 of each piece) and flatware, as other reviewers have noted, but there is a very good collection of cookware and cooking utensils. There is a good range with an induction stovetop, and the refrigerator space is generous.

The building has a well-maintained pool (about 35 feet long, I would judge), somewhat short of furniture. It also has direct access to the beach, composed of fine sand. The ocean has very gentle wave action, protected by a reef. There are opportunities to rent jet skis or go water-skiing (jet ski or parachute). Although jet skis might be regarded as a negative, the noise is mostly drowned out by the natural noise of the sea.

Although the airport is very close, there is almost no airport noise in the apartment or on the beach because of the alignment of the runways. Perhaps half a dozen times a day we would hear a plane that sounded close.

Shopping at the Pueblo Market is adequate. The market is about half a mile from the apartment. (Suggestion to the management: Get a collapsible grocery cart.)

In short, a very nice place for people like us.

Our Stay in Puerto Rico

We had a great time in this condo. The apartment was beautifully remodeled and clean as a whistle. There were plenty of bath and beach towels, well stocked kitchen utensils with pots/pans for cooking, and direct access to the beach with a key to the front gate! They even provided three beach chairs so I didn't have to rent a lounge chair if I didn't want to. I ate all my meals on the balcony overlooking Isla Verde Beach. The sound of the waves rocked me to sleep each night. If you walk down Calle Rosa there is an affordable car rental. You can't go wrong if you rent this place! I would HIGHLY recommend it. It was everything I was looking for!

This was a great place to stay, right on the beach. Stayed with my sister for her 30th birthday. Condo had everything we needed. Walking distance to cute restaurants. 10-15 min can ride to old San Juan. Had a massage at the intercontinental and walked home on the beach.
