Harbor Island is a private, gated barrier island 14 miles from Beaufort SC. Ideally located for day trips, Harbor is about an hour and a half drive south to Savannah GA, and about two hours north to historic Charleston, SC. Beaufort, about 30 minutes away, offers boutique shopping, great restaurants, horse and buggy and walking tours of the historic district, and a tremendous waterfront park stretching along the Intracoastal Waterway with boat tours (dolphin watch, sunset cruise, eco-tours, etc.) departing from the marina.
If golf is your thing, there are several moderately priced, easily accessible golf courses in the Beaufort area and many more an hour or so away on nearby Hilton Head Island. But we are betting you will never want to leave Harbor Island after you check into this great home!

Nice neighborhood but beach is a disappointment at low tide ( which is most of the day ) .
Nice quiet relaxing neighbor hood. Felt very safe. Shower in the master very small.
This is not a fair review of this property.
A two-star review of a house because there are high and low tides on the beach? Really, a two-star review and the only complaint with the house is one of the four showers (three inside and one outside) is smaller than you would like? We try very hard to accurately describe the properties we represent. But, it simply did not occur to me that we needed to inform this guest that the ocean actually has tides. As for the small shower – it is a standard stall shower in the same bath with a five-foot, oval jacuzzi tub. It was not represented as anything other than the standard stall shower that it is. I might also mention that we have never had anyone complain about the size of any of the showers in this house. We appreciate that this guest took the time to write a review and thank her for her reservation.

Perfect placement to enjoy beach and pools. Lovely set up with kitchen, living etc. Enjoyed upstairs deck as well as screened in area down on main. Thanks to the owners for sharing. Gail Sorrells
Harbor Island is the perfect spot for a quiet intimate getaway or a fun-filled family vacation! Stroll Harbor’s 2.5 miles of uncrowded beach, watching the dolphins playing offshore; try your hand at catching tasty blue crabs in the tidal creeks or tossing a net to bring home succulent shrimp. As our special guest, you will have access to the Beach and Racquet Club where you can enjoy a swim in the Olympic sized Club pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River (pool typically opens April 1, closes November 1), work off all those crab cakes in the convenient Fitness Center, or watch your children having fun in the playground and kiddie wading pool. Enjoy fine waterfront dining in nearby Beaufort or take a kayak tour of the area’s pristine waterways. Indulge yourself in a horse drawn carriage ride through the historic downtown area, or peruse Beaufort’s antique shops, unique boutiques and art galleries to find that perfect vacation memento. The area’s best golf is just minutes away & Savannah, Hilton Head and Charleston are easy day trips!
