We loved staying here for our mother/daughter weekend. Plenty of space for the 5 of us and the location was fantastic!

Location and comfort

  • 5 of 5

Jason Kapoor is easy to work with, honest and gracious. The flat is centrally located n NYC in the gentrified Murray Hill neighborhood, with too many decent restaurants and museums nearby to sample in our 5 day stay. On two floors, the flat has one bedroom, a modest kitchen with basic utensils and appliances, a nice living room with comfortable furniture, and a large dining table at the back of the first floor. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one of which has a European style combo washer dryer--and like most Euro combos, requires small loads if you hope to get things dry. We loved our stay (4 adults, one 2 year old), the location, the flat, and if we returned to NYC, would happily try to stay there again.

Fabulous position & beautiful brownstone.

  • 5 of 5

There were 6 adults from Australia celebrating my 60th sharing this brownstone for 7 nights. Check in was easy & Jason very helpful. All the beds were extremely comfortable . And we needed a good nights sleep after walking around NY all day!! Plenty of good quality towels. 2 lovely bathrooms, one off the main bedroom is huge. Also a seaparate 3rd toilet.Lovely to have 2 balconies & sit & look at trees in the middle of Manhattan. Lounge room spacious with very comfortable sofas. A lovely long dining table but we had no time to sit at it as we tried to pack so much into each day! We were close to a subway that easily took us to all the main things uptown & downtown. Fab Indian restaurants around the corner. Union Square & 42nd St are achievable walks. Very quiet location. Great sized fridge & a dishwasher. Only used kettle & toaster as we always ate out but kitchen well equipped. It was a bonus having a washing machine/dryer.

A beautifully decorated place that I would happily return to with friends & family. Very comfortable for 6 adults. Highly recommend.

Total let down

  • 1 of 5

The only positive to this place is the great location. Easy walk to most midtown attractions and short Uber to others. Close to restaurants, bars, grocery store and pharmacy. Communication with owners was easy. On first entering the property it looked like it's photos. But after closer inspection it was dirty. A lot of DIY patch up jobs. We had a mouse issue that was resolved by the owner using a poly filler to fill the hole it went in. Heating didn't work properly. A cleaner was meant to come during our stay but never showed. There was no vacuum cleaner and when I questioned if they could get one they told me they couldn't but could tell me where I could buy one! Which I did not do! No compensation was given for the issues we had. The building has so much potential to be absolutely beautiful but it's been left to DIY ruins. Definitely not worth the money spent. And wouldn't stay again.

Owner's Response: These guests stayed with us for a week. Unfortunately we had a death in the family and had to travel to Virginia for funeral when they called looking for a vacuum cleaner. We have never had any rodents. When they informed us of a mouse siting, we immediately sent over an employee to seal a small hole where the rodent seemed to have come from. We have subsequently had the unit fully exterminated and cleaned. The guests never complained about cleaning, heat or dirt during their stay. They were accompanied by two infants and seemed to spend most of their stay in the unit. We would have gladly provided cleaning if requested. We have three different heating zones and several space heaters throughout the unit that could have been plugged in walls, which the guests surprising never took out of the closets and used.
