About Sally L

A native of Chicago and now resident of Central New Jersey, I enjoy spending time in Arrowhead Lake with my children, who love to ski & swim, as well as hike in some of the spectacular nearby state parks. It's also a great spot for a girls' or couple's weekend. I own two properties in Arrowhead Lake and manage four others as well as a lakefront townhome at Lake Harmony/Big Boulder – and I take great pride in keeping them as clean and comfortable as possible for my guests, as well as my family.

Sally L purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Sally L chose Poconos

The house is in a great location. Fell in love with the view, beautiful knotty pine paneling and the vaulted ceilings, not to mention the location 2 blocks from the beach.

What makes this cottage unique

Partial lake view, gas fireplace, walk to beach in minutes, full-size appliances and washer/dryer on site, storage shed for swim/ski equipment storage, close to community entrance (very convenient because there are many STOP signs in the community).

Great Location to the Lake! Everything you need!

  • 5 of 5

The home was very clean and complete with everything you need. For us, it was somewhat of a last minute vacation; however, I'm glad we chose to stay at the Serenity home-it was PERFECT. Sally, the Owner, was excellent with communication and always available to answer any questions (sorry for the questions Sally! 😔). While there, we used a which Sally provides you information on. The linen service is a 3rd party service for bed linens, kitchen and bath sets as well as beach towels). Everything was fresh and clean packed neatly in a tote when we arrived, and everything went back in the tote prior to our departure. It was a wonderful service and well worth the convenience and the money (@$60). While at Lake Arrowhead, we took part in some of weekly planned community activities with the kids (2 children, ages 11 and 9). They enjoyed the ceramics and the karaoke the most. Everyone we spoke to, and interacted with, were nice and cordial. As for activities in the area, in addition to kayaking and fishing on Lake Arrowhead, we also took the kayaks to Brady's Lake which is approximately 6 miles from the Serenity home and wayyyyyyy back in the woods. It was gorgeous! It's a very scenic, remote and desolate place to relax. On the weekend we took a trip to Scranton and attended the Drive-in movie theater. They have an excellent snack bar and the kids had a blast. What an experience for the children and they loved it. Very cheap too as adults were $8 and children under 12-$5 each...and that's for TWO movies! I would highly recommend the Serenity home for a fun family getaway. We'll be back!

Owner's Response: Scot, As I told you when you refilled my propane tank and didn't ask for reimbursement, you were a model guest! Thank you for not grumbling that two of the four grill burners were out. Thank you for persisting in trying to get the kayak lock open (and thanks to your son for working his magic to open it!). Thanks also for mentioning all the fun things you did during your stay — most of which I have yet to do after nearly 8 years owning the Tranquility and Serenity cottages at Arrowhead Lake! Overall, thanks for your relaxed, can-do attitude and for leaving the house in great shape. I am looking forward to your next visit! — Sally

Nice Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Rented this cozy place for an enjoyable Mother's Day weekend. We found the place very clean and nicely decorated. Nights got a little chilly so it was perfect to sit by the propane stove. Great place for a quiet and relaxing time. This place is near the beach if you want to take advantage of the lake. I would rent again.

All that we could have asked for!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I spent two nights up in this beautiful cottage by the lake. We were more than satisfied during our stay! The owner is extremely organized, and everything was as described. What I loved most about this cabin was its woody and cozy feel. The living room has sofas, a dining table, a smart TV, and a cozy gas fireplace – which warms the cottage up in no time. Outside, there’s a firepit with chairs around it and a grill with a nice deck. And the best part – an amazing view of the lake which we walked to during our stay.

There is also a big dining room and a kitchen that has everything – literally! (pots, pans, coffee maker, toaster oven, wine/beer opener, baking trays, and all the spices you can imagine). There’s also plenty of plates/mugs/glassware. The owner graciously provides you with paper plates too, for those lazy days :)

We did not use the washer/dryer – but both are present. The beds were comfortable – with memory foam as promised. The owner provides plenty of blankets and pillows – but definitely bring your own sheets. Everything was super clean!

The cottage is in a gated community that not only makes you feel safe (while feeling like you live in the wilderness), but also has 24hr access to a lounge where there are games and other amenities – my friends and I enjoyed playing air hockey and table tennis. Overall, this place was very affordable (and this is coming from someone who’s still paying her student loans). The only downside to this property is the $25 parking fee per car – but try your best to carpool. In the end, the fee was worth it for the beautiful property and nearby amenities. My friends and I also went snow tubing and skiing, which was only a 30 min drive away at Camelback. I have already recommended this place to all my friends and can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Owner's Response: Leena, many thanks for the very detailed and effusive review! Just want to note that I do provide a start-up supply of laundry detergent. Also, sheets and towels can be rented with free delivery & pickup from two local companies. The $25/vehicle fee (which is for registration of renters and issuance of gate entry cards, not parking) is a community charge, and anyone renting a home in Arrowhead Lake must pay it. So glad to hear you enjoyed everything else about the home and the area. Sounds like you packed a lot into a weekend, but there's so much more to do in the Poconos so do try to get back this summer. Just be sure to book ahead as it's the most popular time of the year for visitors. — Sally
