About Leslie Taylor

This home is owned by my mother-in-law. She grew up in Southern Utah and loves the area dearly. However, opportunities in the early 80's led her and her husband and their children to Alaska. In 1993 she and her husband had the opportunity to join our children in opening a tour company near Bryce Canyon. This gave her the opportunity to split her time between two very beautiful and different areas. They operated a tour company, motel, and restaurants near Bryce Canyon for many years. She loves the area and is excited to share her home with you and hopefully help you enjoy it also.

Leslie Taylor purchased this house in 1993

Why Leslie Taylor chose Utah

This home was unique in its design and was not finished. Great joy was taken in refinishing it and making it a home away from home. Our ancestors settled in this area during the 1800's. It is awesome to be able to walk where they walked. It is even better to be able to share it with others.

What makes this house unique

The location of this home is fantastic. It is central to so many beautiful areas such as: Bryce Canyon, Zion Canyon, Capital Reef, Cedar Breaks, Mammoth Caves, Panguitch Lake, Red Canyon, Grand Staircase National Monument, and more. It is a great location for enjoying many outdoor activities such as: fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, photography and sight seeing. My home is on the outskirts of Panguitch and has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. It is only a few blocks from all the events hosted by Panguitch every year including: Balloon Festival, Harley Davidson Rally, Quilt Walk, Rodeos, Sporting Events, and more.

Very poor

  • 1 of 5

This place was a total dive with awful mattresses from 1920. The kitchen chairs were broken. There were spiders everywhere and mouse traps set. The bedroom door doesn't have a knob so there's no privacy. There was a DVD player but no cords to even use it. There is a room boarded up making it that much more creepy. That being said, the kitchen was fully stocked and the towels were clean and it was cheap. It's a 20 minute drive to Bryce. I knew it wouldn't be awesome but I was really disappointed. I don't recommend this place.

Owner's Response: We are grateful for any constructive criticism. We have taken this review seriously and are saddened by, what we feel, was a review that was grossly exaggerated. The mattresses are less than 2 years old. One of the bed frames is an antique, dating back to the late 1800's. It is a family heirloom which we are very proud to have in the house. We did not find any broken kitchen chairs. We searched for spiders and spiderwebs and found none in the house. That is not to say that a spider could be present. There are spiders and webs outside though. We are an rural community. The DVD player has only one cord that was hooked up. The issue may have been the correct channel on the TV was not selected. The bedrooms have door knobs and privacy is available. There is an upstairs that was undergoing renovations. We did board it up, in what we felt was acceptable way. It was painted to match the home and we did not feel it was "creepy" in any way. There was a mousetrap set in an location not visible to the general public. We are sorry this reviewer felt disappointed. The reviewer did contact us while staying in the house and mentioned a few of the issues. We offered to refund their money, but they elected to stay after we discussed the issues. As it turned out, we feel they were simply trying to stay for free. When we did not allow this, they wrote this review. The house is in a quiet location and great for visiting Bryce Canyon or Panguitch Lake. It is clean and quite. Yes, it is older. However, we have replaced all flooring, painted the entire home, inside and out, purchased new mattresses, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and stove. The kitchen is furnished. We feel this is truly a much better option than motels in the area.

Quiet setting - Better than a hotel.

  • 3 of 5

Quiet at night, not on "Main Street aka Highway 89 (where there is tremendous traffic noise.)" Better than a hotel. SAVED LOTS of money by bringing own food and cooking is fully-equipped kitchen. Location was convenient to Panquitch and other places in the area.
