Year round lakefront home with all the bells and whistles of a luxuary getaway. This lakefront home offers 2 bedrooms (king in master & a queen on the first floor) plus a loft style bedroom with a full size bed and a queen sleep sofa in the daylight basement. A full bathroom with shower/tub combo on the first floor with a stackable washer/dryer and a luxury second bathroom with an oversized shower. The home is ideal for two families as each bedroom is located on its own floor for ample privacy.
Another fantastic amenity about this home is the lakeview deck equipped with a gas grill with outside dining perfect for hot summer nights. A cozy campfire circle awaits just out side the home overlooking the lake.
Lake Arrowhead Community Center just down the street offers outdoor & indoor pools, tennis & basketball courts, a playground and more!
We purchased the land in 1998, built a shell in 2002 and finished the interior of the home in 2006. We lived in the home for four years and found the location to far to travel to and from work. We hope to keep the home and someday retire there. Our dream of owning a lakefront home was accomplished, but having two homes makes it difficult to maintain financially. Renting our dream home for the first time last year was difficult but found most renters are honest and respectable. We look forward to sharing our home with others in the coming years so that we keep our dream of retiring on the lake a reality.
Lillian & David Normand purchased this house in 2006
My husband and I have fond memories of spending quality time on Maine lakes when growing up. Relaxing with family and friends on the water and around a campfire are one of our favorite things to do.
When building this home we used every inch of space available.
The loft style living room/bedroom gave our son plenty of space for his computer, bed & for entertaining. The master bedroom & bathroom in the basement gives us privacy and the bedroom on the first floor with the adjacent bathroom allowed guests a space of their own.
We had a wonderful time...we missed tv as a group and the guys missed their ipads but a great time was had by all...
Patti & John,
We're glad you enjoyed your week at the Lake House. We will consider adding some furniture to the loft next year as there's lots of room to watch TV together. Maybe a love seat and a bean bag chair will do the trick.
We haven't had a lot requests for the internet as most people have Iphones to retrieve important information. A few years ago we didn't even have cable TV and it forced us to get outside and enjoy one another for entertainment. Swimming, kayaking, lounging in the hammock and a nightly campfire are great family activities we treasure.

This was a great place to go!!!!!we loved our week there. No one wanted to leave. Clean, comfortable beds. The house is well maintained, and very nicely decorated.. also very clean. I would DEFINATELY stay there again if i get the chance.
My husband and I shared the Normand home with my parents (both in their 80s) and brother and sister-in-law. This waterfront property met all of our expectations, especially down at the water. Wooden stairs lead down the backyard to the dock, and a recent addition to the dock made it easy to get down to the water level (even my parents had no problem). Two kayaks were provided for our use, as well as some floating devices, which were enjoyable for all. My sister-in-law had also brought her canoe, which was easy to put in the water there. Because the house is on a cove the boat traffic was not quite as extensive as what we could see out in the main body of water, so it was nice for those of us who were beginning boaters. The Normands had everything needed, including life jackets, which are required on the water.
The house has three levels, with the master suite downstairs with a king sized bed and an additional room with a pull out couch and doors to the backyard. On the main floor, besides the kitchen, dining room and living room, there is a bedroom with a full sized bed, and in the loft, which had very manageable stairs, is the third bedroom, with a queen sized bed and sitting area. Each bedroom had a television, but our only criticism was the lack of a television on the main floor that we could all watch together.
Other amenities included a community room that is within a 5 minute walk, where we found both indoor and outdoor pools, along with a pool table, ping pong table and foosball table. The area also had several restaurants, markets, and on Friday night one restaurant, A Blast From the Past, hosted an antique car show, which was a great attraction. We were also close enough to Portland that we were able to spend a day there, taking a Duck Boat Tour and having dinner at the DiMillo's Floating Restaurant.
Overall our experience at the Normand Home was fun-filled, and we hope to make it back another year. Thank you for the opportunity to rent your beautiful home.
We loved staying at this house and chose it for it's lake location. The lake was very accessible especially since we brought a boat. We were disappointed in the fishing (it was a hot week and the lake was low on water) but that wasn't something the owners could do anything about. We had chosen it for the fishing, however. To make lemonade out of lemons, we were easily able to head out to local beaches and try our fishing luck there (no luck there either!). At any rate, the beds were super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and it felt much more like home away from home than someone's second home. Our teenagers were with us and they all had their privacy which is always nice with teenagers. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this vacation home to anyone wanting to enjoy some lake (and ocean) time.
Lillian and David really know how to do things right. Every inch of their lake front home is beautiful. It was clean and inviting. There were only 4 adults staying at the home, but could easily fit more. That master shower was just awesome. We had everything we needed, from a well stocked and beautiful kitchen to comfortable rooms, to wifi, to the grill and deck, and a beautiful lake. Our youngest son and his wife absolutely enjoyed the fishing as did my husband. They fished right from the dock and caught some good size bass and red perch, as well as some smaller sun fish. Oh and we can't forget the BIG ONES, that they all claim got away!. It was just so peaceful and quiet in the cove the home is located in. I enjoyed the use of the kayaks and we all enjoyed swimming in the lake. Thank you both for sharing your home. Definitely on the list for a return!
Beautiful waterfront home. Gorgeous views and amazing amenities. Amazing for a weekend away or an entire week.
We enjoyed the lake home very much! Clean and organized for making a relaxing get-away. Loved the campfire at night. Lots of sleeping options too.
Will certainly return to this restful spot in Maine.
The home is a family friendly vacation spot with many activities to fill your day whether it be swimming, fishing & kayaking on the lake or by taking a 30 minute drive to the beach or to go shopping in Freeport or Kittery. Funtown Splashtown Amusement Park and Aquaboggan Waterpark are only 30 minutes away.
