My husband and I have three kids, ( 9, 7, and a 1 year old). We live in CT, I am originally from Boston Area. I would move here tomorrow if it was an option. Bad news for us, our kids are in sports and we are using this amazing condo and area less and less. Good news if for you, it is available a lot more, now that the kids are getting older and involved in sports. We love it and we know you will as well.
Paul Murphy purchased this condo in 2010
Four Season 2nd Home. There is so much to do in Vermont, and we are on the NH border. 2 hours from Boston, and also 2 hours from our home in CT. Winter skiing, sledding..Summer is pool, lake, rivers, (hidden swimming holes) golf, tennis and....
Foliage.... Come visit the Condo, their is a folder with all the fun things to do while visiting.
Private club. By renting our property, you can use the facilities for a fee. (Golf, pool, gym, tennis, lake......)
Everything was great. Just enough snow up there to have some great downhill and cross country skiing. We are home now, just wanted to let you know:
Thank you so much, it was wonderful and we had a blast. Most of the deck is shoveled off so you can get out there.
Fully equipped kitchen and large kitchen table made it a breeze for preparing and serving meals at the condo.
4 levels; basement with a sofa and a double sized blow up for sleeping, a bedroom level with 3 bedrooms, two bedrooms with double sized beds(one with an attached full bath) and a room with two twin beds. The bedroom level also included a second full bath. Main floor has 1/2 bath and a comfy sofa for sleeping. 4th floor is loft with 2 beds bunked and an additional 2 twin beds.
Stairs could be problem if there are mobility issues as both showers require use of stairs. Loft users have to come down to main level to use half bath. Basement users have to come up to bedroom level to use bathroom. All bathrooms in good shape with good water pressure.
Deck off main living area is nice for mornings, lots of trees and bird songs.
There are parking lots on both sides of the condo and there are reserved spaces for each unit and additional parking in unreserved spaces. There are stairs to climb from parking lot to access the unit.
We would rent this place again as a jumping off spot for this part of VT.
Condo is very nice, we had rainy weekend so it was nice to have the room to spread out rather then hotel rooms where we would have been stuck in one room. Condo is 3 floors and loft so worked great for our party of 10. Only downside was location on top of mountain was hard to find in dark and was winding up the hillside (15 passenger van) doesn't make sharp uphill corners.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo is a very spacious four stories, clean and nicely decorated retreat. When we first walked in we were greeted by white candles flickering on the fireplace hearth. The candles were battery lighted but it gave a nice cozy personal touch in welcoming us. We knew right off that this was a great place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed ! Location, location and location. This was an ideal spot to go hiking, shopping and visiting a farm. We hiked down Quechee Gorge, went to Quechee village and watched glass china being made, went to Woodstock and ended up going to the Sugar Bush Farm to taste cheese and maple syrup (of course we purchased those tasty treats after getting samples). The best part of the condo was it was relaxing, quiet and warm. It had everything we needed and all we had to bring was our food. Paul made arranging for our stay very easy and he contacted us by both phone and email. We plan on making a return trip next year !
Some friends and I were doing the mud run in Killington and wanted to stay somewhere not to far away. I found this condo. Paul and Cheri were so pleasant and very helpful! I asked alot of questions and got a response quickly. The condo was amazing. Beautiful location, lots of room for all of us. Everyone had a good time and loved the condo. All of us would love to come back again sometime. Thank you for the wonderful weekend.
This was a great home for our needs, located at the top of the ski hills in Quechee with easy access to the VT and NH locations we were looking to visit. The layout was as described with comfortable living space and amenities. This *should* have been a 5 star stay. I am giving this 4 stars because of some annoying items that prevented our enjoying this home to its fullest and added stress where we didn't need it. I pondered 3 stars because all of these items should have been easily assessed and remedied prior to our arrival by the property manager who's number was listed on the fridge.
Apparently there had been a long term tenant over the winter and problems remaining from their departure were never taken care of, including central stairs between the three main floors and inside the front door, that were pretty filthy, a mattress on its way to the dump that had been left completely blocking the sliding glass door and curtain in the master bedroom, and wifi that was inoperable for the first 24 hours. My husband needed to work during our visit and to have to find a connected location that night we arrived was more than inconvenient.
That all being said, the owner Paul was a pleasure to interact with and I assume he has by now solved all of these problems. He was responsive even though he was out of the country and he definitely cares about keeping his property well cared for.
Assuming these items were remedied, our family would look forward to staying in this home again if we were in the area.
We visited New Hampshire and Vermont for our son's graduation from Dartmouth and found this to be a great place to stay. The condo easily accomodated our group of 8 and additional guests who joined us for dinner one evening. The kitchen was well equipped, and the layout of the condo was very spacious. In the summer it is nice to enjoy the decks and the area is nestled in the woods.
We also enjoyed visiting the town of Quechee and Quechee gorge which are very close. There is a glass factory in downtown Quechee where you can watch artisans create handblown glass items, and a covered bridge. The location is also close enough to Hanover for events such as graduations. We looked at many options and this was both affordable and convenient.
The owner was very friendly and tried to make our experience as pleasant as possible. I would definitely stay here again if we needed a place for a group in the Hanover/Quechee area.
Quechee is the site of the famous Quechee Gorge, 'Vermont's Grand Canyon' on the Ottauquechee River, one of the country's natural wonders. It is also the home of the Quechee Lakes planned community, with two eighteen hole golf courses.
Quechee is host to a popular hot air balloon festival, Scottish Games, Quechee Polo Grounds, and the Simon Pearce glass blowing and pottery facility.
Quechee's facilities include two championship golf courses. Geoffrey Cornish, a world famous golf course architect, started with a valley full of ample trees, spring fed ponds, pastures, rocky ledges and dramatic ravines - then sculpted 36 challenging holes of championship golf. Old pros or young duffers, the golfers who have played it rave about it. Both 18s, from the first tee to the thirty-sixth green, are truly unbelievable.
The Quechee members, guests, renters - and now the public - all may enjoy many winter days downhill or cross country skiing. The ski hill's new quad chair lift is 2,700 feet in length and leads to downhill trails up to 5,000 feet in length. A rope tow and T-Bar complete the lifts at Quechee and provide access to the beginners' slopes for the novice skiers.
Also, there are many miles of maintained hilly and flat cross country ski trails in the development.
Besides golf courses and ski facilities, there is a modern Tennis Center featuring eleven tennis (8 Har Tru) courts, and a professional staff offering an outstanding program of lessons and clinics. There are recreational facilities for children, Lake Pinneo with beach, bathhouse, watersports, and playground facilities, outdoor skating facilities and supervised programs.
Throughout the valley QLLA maintains many other recreational sites, from the Polo Field and Birchwood Meadows overlooking Dewey's Pond, to the Village Green - the site of the now famous Quechee Balloon Festival. Additionally, there are playing fields, extensive woodlands, deer yards, and some great fresh water fishing holes, all encompassing approximately 1,500 acres of Vermont's most beautiful and natural land.
Quechee Lakes Landowners have, through their Association, developed Vermont's finest four season community. Everything you want for your vacation or lifestyle - be it spring, summer, fall or winter - can be found at Quechee Lakes.
