Comfortable and Family-Oriented

  • 3 of 5

Paul Arnold was really great to work with and very accommodating. He was flexible on dates and a few other issues and very responsive to any questions my husband and I had. The house is homey and really comfortable. The only reason I am giving this property a threer star instead of a five star is because the house was not as clean as my husband and I had expected. Several of the dishes in the cupboards were dirty so we washed all of the dishes in the dishwasher that we planned on using. Also, the bathrooms were not as clean as I am used to, so I spent the first day cleaning them and dusting the furniture in the living room. Cleaning the first day of my arrival after traveling on a red-eye flight was not our idea of relaxing. Also, the DVD player did not work. However, that being said, the house is large, cozy and charming.

Owner's Response: We are sorry our guests were disappointed. We pride ourselves on providing a clean home and in four years have never had a complaint. We will in future inspect the dishes as they come out of the dishwasher. We replaced the DVD the day we learned it was not working and would have offered to do so during their stay had they given us a call.

Convenient

  • 5 of 5

You were planning an 80th Birthday Party for my mother. There was no way of staying in her small home. Therefore, I have had great success for vacation rentals and this home was another winner. With 8 of us it had room to accommodate all of us. We even invited my mom and my son's family of 6 over for Sunday Easter dinner. We had enough space to feed all the 8 kids first and then we adults relaxed at the table to do our eating. Work out well. It was very nice to have the upstairs bedrooms and bath....nap time was a no brainer for the little ones. They had quiet, we had quiet. All in all this was a fantastic home for your needs. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Charming, delightful, Victorian Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This property helped us to thoroughly enjoy our visit in the Grand Haven area. We walked the boardwalk every day, enjoyed many of the shops and restaurants. Kirby's and Lucy's were great. The house was absolutely charming. Clean, neat and spacious. This allowed us to enjoy extended family for game night. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We would highly recommend anyone to enjoy this vacation home, and we will diffidently make use of this house again.
