Cousins weekend reunion of 14 adults had a wonderful relaxing time in this beautiful, clean, spacious home with great views. Managers extremely responsive though we had no issues at all. Even though it was summer, we found things to do like go into town, have a wine tasting and take the ski lift up and hike down. Would definitely recommend!
Our family of four spent a fun and relaxing week here during the month of August.
The house is big, yet cozy, wrapping around you like a large, warm blanket. Absolutely charming inside and out! Very interesting architecturally, interior decor is an eclectic blend of old and new creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Lots of places to curl up with a good book. The kitchen breakfast bar calls to you to enjoy local Vermont cheeses with a glass of wine, all with Mount Snow as your backdrop. Beautiful views abound!
The kitchen is very well-equipped. We had fun cooking to the sounds of jazz, while enjoying the beautiful views, then sharing a meal together as a family.
My son's favorite part of vacation was playing pingpong and foosball ... a huge hit with him!
The house affords the feeling of seclusion and privacy, but with the convenience of civilization being five minutes away. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning, sip my cup of coffee, breathe in crisp, cool mountain air surrounded by nature and enjoy the tranquility of the moment. While at night, my daughter and I counted shooting stars.
The location makes a great base camp for exploring southern Vermont. Our family made three day trips, one to Woodstock, Queechee and Hanover (NH); one to Manchester; and one to Grafton ... great scenic drives. Also, the lovely and friendly town of Wilmington is only 15 minutes away and has a quaint downtown which includes an independent bookstore (hard to find these days), pub and shops.
I would definitely recommend this property. Our family experienced many great memories here ... thank you for sharing!
We came early July and we had a wonderful time. The cottage is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Its location is also very nice. Isolated yet not too far away from stores. It had wonderful views. It has all amenities. It was reasonable clean ... although the rooms in the basement were a little dusty. We had some problems with the broiler which were immediately solved within half an hour! The only drawback was that most windows (although very large and with great views) did not have blinds. This was especially a problem since we had a couple of infants with us. Despite that I would highly recommend this property. In fact, we plan to come back and enjoy the house in winter :) !
We stayed in this gem of a house with extended family and friends for Tough Mudder weekend in early May. The property is well-situated to the mountain. We were able to walk to the race and take the Moover back home, getting dropped off just down the block.
The house itself is incredible... very spacious. 6 bedrooms with plenty of room for all. The kids enjoyed sharing the bunk room and having their own play space downstairs. The kitchen is well-equipped and the weather was nice enough that we were able to BBQ and eat out on the deck. Management responded very quickly to the few questions we had about the heat and trash disposal.
The only note I'd make is there are no window coverings in most of the bedrooms - to take advantage of the great views of the mountain - so we, and the kids, were up with the early sun each day. A great stay overall though - it made our weekend very relaxed and special. Thank you!
I stayed at this beautiful home with 4 other couples in February 2011. We could tell from the pictures that it would be a nice place, but it was actually even more attractive than they portray. One entire wall of the house is essentially windows and directly overlooks Mount Snow -- we could watch people skiing down while eating breakfast! It is a multi-level building, with a huge kitchen, large living room, game room downstairs -- all of it very tastefully decorated. The owner, Sue, had told us that the kitchen would be well-stocked and that we did not need to bring any supplies, but we were surprised at *how* well-stocked it was. I think there were 3 electric pancake griddles! And plenty of bowls, pots, knives, etc. We did some elaborate cooking, but everything we needed to use was there. There were also lots of board games and books already there. At one point, there was a minor maintenance problem, but the owners dealt with it immediately (driving up themselves from Connecticut to handle it). The house is literally a 5 minute drive to Mount Snow -- could not be more convenient. I would highly recommend this property!
My family and our guests (16 in total) had a great time. We were only 1/2 mile from the base of the mountain and the house was perfect for us.
The management company made everything simple and seamless. The house was lit and heated by the time we arrived.
Great house and a great trip!! Thanks for sharing!!
