Fishbones is located on the Northeast of the island, just about 2 miles west of the Morritt's and Wyndham Reef Resorts. Fishbones is truly an ultra-luxe villa inside and out. Professionally designed and expertly decorated with exquisite furniture, drapes and decor this home will make you feel like royalty.
Step through the foyer and into an expansive living, dining and kitchen area that leads onto a large screen porch for gorgeous water views. The screened lanai overlooks a stunning pool that leads down to a private path for excellent reef-protected snorkeling and swimming over a shallow, sandy bottom. This home does not have a sandy beach, however, there is a sandy cove on the nearby adjacent vacant lot, plus two resorts open to the public that offer sandy barefoot beaches.
Fishbones enjoys amazing elevated Caribbean views of multi-colored waters with rare spottings of eagle rays and turtles in the shallow reefs. Views are interrupted only by the occasional dive boat mooring on a popular dive site just outside the reef. The villa's windowed 3rd floor cupola is a great place to watch sunsets and allows sunshine to pour into the villa and down the spiral stairs. Trade wind breezes can keep the house cool during winter evenings when you want to turn off the A/C and open the villa to the sound of waves crash on the shore below.

Magical! Perfect family gathering and getaway!
One of our best family gatherings, to date. Everything, truly, was perfect - from our arrival to our departure. The home could not be more beautiful and extremely well provisioned. The owners have thought of everything!! The setting - truly spectacular. It will go down as one of the prettiest, most serene places we have been, to date. Our week together as a family will long be remembered as one of the best! Grand Cayman Villas is top notch - easy to work with and extremely accommodating. Feel blessed to have been given such an incredible week in paradise. Thank you, all!
Great Two Weeks
My wife and I stayed at Fishbones for 2 weeks in early May 2017. We were very pleased with the villa. Spacious and perfect layout; nice furniture and appliances; and unique art and accent pieces. Very clean. The view was beautiful from all ares- from inside, from the pool, and from our favorite area, the screened-in porch. Constant sound of waves breaking on barrier was great. Nice outside furniture and well landscaped grounds. Private. Since we prepared all of our meals, we appreciated the great kitchen and the new Weber GAS grill outside. Dive shops 4 and 8 minutes away (we recommend Ocean Frontiers). Thanks to Roland for his responsiveness to our needs. Two large TV's, but limited channels in Living room and no channels in Master Bedroom. (we watched Netflix a lot). In summary, this is a great villa which we highly recommend. It was even more attractive to us since the owner offers lower rates for a two person stay.
Enjoyed the property.
The location was great. Very quiet. The only negative feedback would be the property advertises "American Satellite." In fact the satellite service is local Cayman with American channels in standard definition. I have been used to other properties who have full channel HD Dish or DIRECTV. Secondarily, there was no satellite service in the Master Bed. A minor inconvenience was the absence of any kitchen spices. I understand I'm to bring my own consumables but again other Villas have had a supply of basic dry spices. I understand this is the Caribbean and one doesn't want to spend too much time in front of a TV but at least advertise correctly.
But overall this is a beautiful property that is well maintained. I'd consider returning.
We do not advertise "American Satellite" on HomeAway, VRBO or our own website. Grand Cayman is a foreign country, how could it be "American"?
HD service is not offered island-wide and where available requires 2 satellite dishes. The home does have DIRECTV service.
Spices are generally left by prior guests.
We do advertise correctly stating "The living area features a large, comfortable sectional and flatscreen with satellite television so everyone can gather to unwind after a day of sun and surf."
Three star rating is pretty harsh given the condition of the home, location, privacy, your mention of a" beautiful property that is well maintained." And most importantly that you would consider returning!!!
Perfect vacation home! We dream about going back!
My husband and I stayed at Fish Bones for a week in April this year, and this is probably our most favorite Caribbean villa so far! The view is incredible and I don't think you'll find a better pool/view combination on the island. As someone who is susceptible to bug bites and sunburn, I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated the screened-in porch. I spent a lot of time reading and relaxing in the shade there, and mealtimes at the table were wonderfully bug-free.
We enjoyed walking down to the water via the stone steps, and my husband went snorkeling at the house several times. There are a few spiny sea urchins near the steps in the water, but I think you can avoid them if you're careful (he didn't have any problems). The water there is clear with a sandy bottom for several yards out, and then it's mostly turtle grass. You could swim out to the reef, but there was plenty of stuff to see right near the house along the rocks. He saw parrotfish, bar jacks, high hats, an angelfish, and we often saw stingrays glide by while we were sitting on the cliff's edge.
Fish Bones is in a fantastic location if you’re looking for peace and quiet, security, and a gorgeous view. The neighboring house isn’t too close, and the surrounding foliage makes it completely private. Fish Bones sits far enough back from the road that you don’t hear street noise. It’s wonderfully quiet. There are several restaurants and bars within a 5-10 minute drive and we enjoyed all of the ones we tried (Tukka was a favorite). This is also a great spot if you are into diving – there are two great dive shops just a few minutes down the road. We used Tortuga for a snorkeling trip to Sunset Reef.
It’s also worth noting that the house was so clean. We didn't see one bug anywhere inside. And we had everything we needed for comfort, convenience, and for meals. I see the photos have since been updated, but when we booked, the pictures hardly did the house justice. When we arrived, we were shocked at how beautiful the house and location were. The new photos represent the villa much better!
The only (and I mean ONLY) downside I can think of was the low water pressure in the master bath shower. I have long thick hair, so sometimes it was hard to rinse shampoo out, but I managed. That's it though - everything else about Fish Bones was so incredibly perfect that we didn't want to leave, and we dream about going back! I would stay here again in a heartbeat if we have the opportunity
