3BR/2.5BA Fishbones (No Children permitted) is located on the Northeast of the island, just about 2 miles west of the Morritt's and Wyndham Reef Resorts. Fishbones is truly an Ultra-Luxury Villa inside and out; professionally designed and decorated with exquisite furniture, drapes and decor, the villa will make you feel like royalty. The screened lanai overlooks a stunning pool that leads down private stairs to excellent reef-protected snorkeling and swimming over a shallow, sandy bottom. This home does not have a sandy beach, however there is a sandy cove on the adjacent vacant lot that one can wade to…as well as the (2) resorts nearby that offer sandy barefoot beaches open to the public.
Our guests often report seeing eagle rays and turtles while snorkeling in the shallows.
Amazing elevated Caribbean views of multi-colored water are interrupted only by the occasional dive boat mooring on a popular dive site just outside the reef. Windowed 3rd floor cupola is a great place to watch sunsets and allows sunshine to stream into the villa and down the spiral stairs. Trade wind breezes can keep the house cool during winter evenings when you want to turn off the A/C and open the villa to hear the waves crash on the shore below.

The location was great. Very quiet. The only negative feedback would be the property advertises "American Satellite." In fact the satellite service is local Cayman with American channels in standard definition. I have been used to other properties who have full channel HD Dish or DIRECTV. Secondarily, there was no satellite service in the Master Bed. A minor inconvenience was the absence of any kitchen spices. I understand I'm to bring my own consumables but again other Villas have had a supply of basic dry spices. I understand this is the Caribbean and one doesn't want to spend too much time in front of a TV but at least advertise correctly.
But overall this is a beautiful property that is well maintained. I'd consider returning.
My husband and I stayed at Fish Bones for a week in April this year, and this is probably our most favorite Caribbean villa so far! The view is incredible and I don't think you'll find a better pool/view combination on the island. As someone who is susceptible to bug bites and sunburn, I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated the screened-in porch. I spent a lot of time reading and relaxing in the shade there, and mealtimes at the table were wonderfully bug-free.
We enjoyed walking down to the water via the stone steps, and my husband went snorkeling at the house several times. There are a few spiny sea urchins near the steps in the water, but I think you can avoid them if you're careful (he didn't have any problems). The water there is clear with a sandy bottom for several yards out, and then it's mostly turtle grass. You could swim out to the reef, but there was plenty of stuff to see right near the house along the rocks. He saw parrotfish, bar jacks, high hats, an angelfish, and we often saw stingrays glide by while we were sitting on the cliff's edge.
Fish Bones is in a fantastic location if you’re looking for peace and quiet, security, and a gorgeous view. The neighboring house isn’t too close, and the surrounding foliage makes it completely private. Fish Bones sits far enough back from the road that you don’t hear street noise. It’s wonderfully quiet. There are several restaurants and bars within a 5-10 minute drive and we enjoyed all of the ones we tried (Tukka was a favorite). This is also a great spot if you are into diving – there are two great dive shops just a few minutes down the road. We used Tortuga for a snorkeling trip to Sunset Reef.
It’s also worth noting that the house was so clean. We didn't see one bug anywhere inside. And we had everything we needed for comfort, convenience, and for meals. I see the photos have since been updated, but when we booked, the pictures hardly did the house justice. When we arrived, we were shocked at how beautiful the house and location were. The new photos represent the villa much better!
The only (and I mean ONLY) downside I can think of was the low water pressure in the master bath shower. I have long thick hair, so sometimes it was hard to rinse shampoo out, but I managed. That's it though - everything else about Fish Bones was so incredibly perfect that we didn't want to leave, and we dream about going back! I would stay here again in a heartbeat if we have the opportunity
