Farmhouse, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)
Swallow's Nest is located on a family farm with organic orchards, fields and animals. You'll be able to visit a working farm, but there'll be no chores to complete. You're on vacation!
Settled at end of quiet lane Swallow's Nest is a 5-minute walk from the main farmhouse. Two bathrooms, sauna, three bedrooms (king, queen, dorm with queens and a single). Swallows' Nest can privately accommodate 2 couples with the third communal bedroom for the 'kids'. This is an ideal location for a vacation with family and friends.
There's a lot to enjoy without leaving the property. You can walk to nearby attractions, or take short daytrips to dozens of destinations within a 30-kilometre radius.
We also welcome friendly, well mannered four-legged members of the family. Choosing Swallow's Nest for your vacation means there's no need for any separation anxiety for either kids or pets.
A farm stay is a special vacation for families with young children. We have three children of our own who can help your kids make a strong and lasting connection between food, farms and fun. If they like, visiting children will be able to collect eggs, visit the pigs or piglets, and take walks through the orchard and trails. We can also arrange a trip to harvest corn or another crop. Then your family can enjoy this 'just picked' food for lunch or supper. Now, that's fresh and knowing where food comes from.
Adults too may discover a farm activity to enjoy. There's nothing like the taste of an egg when you've brought it straight from the hen to the pot or a salad for supper when you've chosen your own greens!
There are two large ponds on the property. This and the organic nature of the surrounding environment makes a visit to Swallow's Nest an excellent bird and nature watching opportunity.

This guest house has many artisanal features. It is nestled at the end of a quiet lane. There are wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing with family and friends. There are many things to experience here without ever leaving the property and many other things to do within a short driving or biking distance.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
In today's fast-paced world many of us do not think too much about where our food comes from. At Swallow's Nest you will be able to re-connect with the practice and beauty of growing nutritious food. And, if you so choose, you'll be able to participate a little in the life of the farm.

Sports & Adventure Activities
I've just arrived back home after having the pleasure of staying with my family at Swallow's Nest for 5 days. This place is amazing. The cottage itself is sprawling, extremely well equipped, and very charming. The property with its views is gorgeous and private. Our family vacation consisted of 2 couples, a single adult and a 5 year old. Swallow's Nest suited our needs perfectly. Our vacation was a combination of visiting our extended family as well as sight seeing and I can't recommend this property enough as a home base. It's a very convenient location for a range of activities.
And the animal lovers in our family were thrilled to visit the pigs, chickens, goose and Jack (the farm's dog) everyday. I absolutely loved staying here and hope I will again. The pictures don't do it justice ;)
Swallow's Nest is a Peaceful Sanctuary
My family and I stayed at Swallow's Nest for three peaceful days. My children are 9,9 and 10 and spent most of the day exploring the property, visiting the animals and touring the gardens. It was an amazing experience for three video game lovers who found themselves outside more than in.
The second floor with three beds was ideal and provided a bunkhouse feel and the movable dividers gave everyone privacy when it was time to sleep. We enjoyed the king comfy bed on the first floor with our own washroom. The second floor also had a private bedroom with TV and double bed.
This spacious house provided enough privacy for the introverts in the family while the fireplace and outdoor fire put brought everyone together for some family time. The unique house design was interesting and kids enjoyed all the cubby holes, nooks and crannies.
The sauna and piano were nice amenities which also provided entertainment. All kitchen supplies were on hand and we enjoyed visiting the on site farm produce hut and walking next door to cheese and gelato factory.
The location was great and the back roads provided quick access to all neighbouring towns. The property owners were very accommodating and friendly. We can't wait to visit again.
new family tradition
Swallows nest has become a family retreat tradition! I moved home to Nova Scotia with my husband last year and we have a 6 month old daughter. Our first trip to Swallow's Nest was when our little girl was 4 days old. We were back again in February and just celebrated Easter there.
There are so many reasons why we plan to make trips to this house a part of our family tradition. The space is large enough for the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends (and our dog!). There is something to do for everyone. The grounds are beautiful for walking year-round and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming to their farm.
This is not a conventional space- three beds and two sofas are in one large shared room (with dividers for some privacy). There are also two private bedrooms in addition to the large shared sleeping space. The Sauna is beautiful and there are two common-areas that are great for sitting around to talk, enjoy a fire, or play games.
This is a true escape, a space where you can slow down and enjoy the people you are with. The house is also minutes away from main street Wolfville, which is a beautiful little university town with cafes, restaurants, shops, and entertainment.
I can't say enough good things about this space.
All the little details -- the house is very clean, the beds are made, there are plenty of towels and linens, all the cooking utensils you could need are there along with a huge fridge and fantastic and easy to use gas stove.
The activities listed are either on the property or within 30 minutes.
