Cozy cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

This was a very cozy and decently appointed cabin. The bedrooms were comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen were both decent, the porch was gorgeous and there was a nice selection of board games.

The temperature control in the house was very difficult with the third bedroom being open and the two downstairs bedrooms being very small -- they got too hot and the loft got too cold overnight.

The other complaint that we had was that there was an abundance of passive aggressive/aggressive signage about the property. I've stayed in many VRBO/AirBnBs and never seen anything quite like it -- 2-3 laminated signs per room. None with "please" or "thank you" on them. A house book rather than individual signage and some politeness would have made the cabin feel more welcoming.

cabin is rustic and clean but misreprented

  • 1 of 5

The cabin is misrepresented on the website. it is not surrounded be beautiful pines and cleared areas. It is surrounded by felled trees and debris and completely exposed to the sun making it unbearable in the afternoons through the evening. While an outdoor lovely seating area is shown in pictures, it does not exist and the furniture is covered with debris and trees that have been felled and surrounded by weeds. Not accessible. The walkway to the cabin has exposed rebar supports for log steps gone long ago, the dishwasher does not work and the screen door is in disrepair. We left after two nights because we could not enjoy a cabin experience in the afternoons or evenings. It appears to have been lovely once upon a time, but not today

Good cabin feel.

  • 4 of 5

Kids had fun playing outside, however they found a bunch of empty beer bottles and broken glass in a bucket while playing. Kitchen well stocked with everything we needed. Bathtub should have non slip attachments as one of us did slip in the tub.

We enjoyed our stay here.

Very comfy!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is super cozy. Everything you could ask for in a ski cabin. There were just four of us but could have fit twice that easily. Loft area for the kids is great.

Comfortable, cozy with beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time that we have stayed here. We love it here!! The downstairs beds are very comfortable. My son loved the upstairs loft. The kitchen is well stocked and the dining room table is a wonderful size. It was very nice to be able to bring our dog too. We loved the wrap around porch. It was absolutely beautiful with all of the snow surrounding the cabin. It is also very close to Calaveras Big Trees and the adorable town of Murphys. We will definitely stay here again!!

Nice and cozy

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for three days and it was cozy and size was perfect and we loved they accept dogs and it was a plus, the location is a plus we would go back for sure during summer to enjoy it more, the only thing is that they need to improve their cleaning a bit housekeeping should be more detail specially inside the showers and restrooms and dusting and the dish washer needs to be fixed the door seems like it's about to come off when you open it. But besides it's a nice cabin and really likes it. Also the owner was nice called and made sure we got everything we needed and made him self available by cellphone if we needed anything and good thing there's a house phone since there's no cellphone but luckily there's wifi.
