About the property

Mid-Century Mountain Home with Breathtaking Views

A nature lover's dream....

The large windows of this rustic home look out on the San Francisco Bay and the trails of Mount Tam are literally right out your door. It's hard to believe that San Francisco is a mere 14 miles away when you wake up to deer in the garden and the smell of pine.

There's a large patio surrounding the property from which to enjoy the ever-changing vistas of San Francisco and Mt. Tam . And despite the mountain setting, it's only a mile drive down to the quaint Mill Valley town square.

This cozy artist's retreat is located at the head of a hiking trail which will take you as far as Stinson Beach (if you've got the energy) or as close as the little stream about half mile down the fire trail.

A large fireplace, terrazzo floors, eclectic antiques and interesting old books... It is very much a retreat whether you want to stay put & relax, sail or mountain bike, experience small town life in Mill valley or explore the many sights in San Francisco.

Sleeping: 2 bedrooms (1 king + 1 queen)

Fully Equipped kitchen

Washer / Dryer

Ample parking (rare in this neighborhood)

Great location! Beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

The sunrises over San Francisco Bay from the dining room table were magical along with nighttime views of The city. There were also outdoor spaces to enjoy the views. Hiked directly from the house to the top of Mt Tam one day.

The house is a fascinating ‘original 50s period piece even down to the original push button stove in the kitchen. We also enjoyed the radiant heat since it was cool while we were there. Susan was great to work with. Would definitely recommend this house for a unique Mill Valley stay.

Beautiful views and great area to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in Mill Valley and enjoyed the mid-century home. All the amenities we needed and very neat. The views were truly stunning and we loved the uniqueness of the area. Mill Valley was a great location to stay, to visit both San Francisco and wine country!

We would definitely recommend this mountain home and hope to return sometime.

Incredible views, peaceful location, and comfortable, charming home

  • 5 of 5

This property was incredible! The views are spectacular! Photos don't do them justice. We enjoyed sunrises and sunsets immensely! The house is like a time capsule of the sixties, but that is part of what makes it so special. The decor is unique and interesting. My husband and I traveled with another couple and each couple had their own comfortable bed and their own bathroom. It was perfect! We enjoyed all the sightseeing we did (Alcatraz, Yosemite tour, Lombard St., Painted Ladies, Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods), but wished we had one more day to just relax at the house. The owner was very accessible, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this properly. We loved our stay!!

Peaceful getaway

  • 4 of 5

This is an older home full of charm and antique novelties in a serene peaceful environment. It was spacious and accommodating enough for two couples to enjoy comfortably although unfortunately it was unseasonably hot and the home lacks air conditioning. It's situated above the quaint but very expensive town of Mill Valley and just a few miles to Sausalito where we attended the annual Art Festival which is a must for those of you who appreciate art and live music. I would be very happy to stay here again, thank you again Susan for allowing us to stay at your home.

Beautiful house and incredible location

  • 5 of 5

Loved the house. Way up windy summit road perched below mt tams peak with views of the bay.. The house is largely unchanged from its 1950s era build a la Frank Lloyd Wright. Special place
