Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Angelfire. Everything you could possibly want from a cabin in the mountains was here! This is a well-kept property, private and spacious, with fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and plenty of room for my family to spread out in. I especially enjoyed the gas fireplaces--the house was so cozy and warm, without the hassle of lugging wood in from the cold. Julie went above and beyond, staying in contact for any questions or suggestions. She pointed us to great tacos in Taos, the little brewery in town, and so many great places to hike! I really appreciated her efforts to make sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything. I have already recommended this cabin to friends and hope to make another trip out there again really soon!

Barton's Retreat- fantastic vacation.

  • 5 of 5

Barton's Retreat!! What a wonderful and inviting home. We spent a week at the cabin- couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and beautiful place. The views from the deck are breath taking and we enjoyed just sitting on the deck watching the chipmunks and birds. There's never a lack of something to do- we enjoyed seeing the deer and elk at dusk, riding the chairlift to the top of the mountain for lunch, trying our hand at fly fishing, pedal boating at the lake, and eating out at some of the restaurants. We did take a couple of trips to area towns. The house is very comfortable and has everything you might need. We hope to go back for another vacation.

INCREDIBLE Ski Cabin - 5 minutes to slopes!

  • 5 of 5

This home is a beautiful log cabin with 3 levels. Great bunk room for kids and an awesome master with Kiva fireplaces throughout. Views were stunning and the close proximity to the slopes made it perfect for our family.

Anything that could go wrong (DID GO WRONG!!)

  • 2 of 5

I write this review in a sincere hope it will help someone make an educated decision when seeking a cabin retreat. Things got off to a bad start upon arriving at the end of November with temperature in the low 40s in mid afternoon we found the heating was not functioning whatsoever. It was 52 degrees inside the cabin I have small children and a lap child and it was absolutely miserable. Instead of being excited and checking out this beautiful place our children were bound to the faint heat of an old small space heater for 2 hrs while my husband and I unloaded our car in very cold temperatures until a handy man came by replaced batteries!!! Something so simple that should have not been overlooked prior to our arrival. Unfortunately the remainder of my stay was filled with continuous dissapointment.

The satellite TV was not functioning. This was a huge let down as we enjoy football on Thanksgiving day and we're not able to keep up our tradition. The cabin was filthy. I had to mop dusty and bug sprinkled floors and washed loads of dirty dishes that had been put away. So Gross!! Old food in the fridge. The lis goes on and on. Despite all the inconveniences my family and endured the woman Julie whom I communicated was less than apologetic and very defensive. MY understanding is her friends have entrusted her to oversee the property and guest. I hope they reconsider finding someone else.

Owner's Response: The owners and I are very sorry to hear this was your experience. I strive to have the homes well maintained and ready for my guests. The moment I was contacted about the heat, I immediately called the handyman. The handyman responded quickly and had the heat going again. The heat had been working perfectly, a week earlier, when it was checked. Thankfully, there are three different heat thermostats, one for each floor. I was glad that you had the lower level still functioning and the owner's had left 3 space heaters for you to use. Our new homecare service will be checking the heat, and opening up the home, prior to any guest arriving, to further prevent this happening again. When contacted about the Direct tv being out, I immediately called the provider. They said the satellite had lost connection and they would reset it remotely. The problem was resolved in about 15 min. I was apologetic when I spoke with the guest on the phone, by text, and by e-mail following their stay. This guest did not mention that I was very responsive to all her texts and calls, that I resolved the problems immediately, and that I did sincerely apologize, numerous times. In order to further accommodate this guest, I approved a late check out, by 2 hours at no cost, and offered to reimburse a portion of her stay.

Lovely Log Home with a Fantastic View.

  • 4 of 5

We booked this property in January 2014 for our Christmas/New Years trip. I considered many homes, but this home configuration suited our families needs over any others. It was my husband and I and our grown children, son and his wife and daughter and her boyfriend. We all had plenty of space with room to spare. This home would also be great for families with younger children as well as teenagers. The location was great as it was secluded but yet close enough to other homes and was 5 minutes from Angel Fire. The house is well stocked and very comfortable. The Kiva fireplaces (thermostatically controlled) do an awesome job of heating the home and provide a constant ambiance of a beautiful fire. The Property Manager, Julie, was great to work with and was always so prompt in answering any questions that I had. I would certainly recommend this property and would most definitely stay there again. We had a wonderful time!
