About JACK FRANKS

I grew up in west Tennessee went to college at UT Martin. My wife Barbara is from Chattanooga. We now live in Florida , retired from our own business. We also have and manage a beach condo near St Pete, Fl. We have done extensive travel through out the world. We honeymooned in the Smokey Mountains and it is still one of our favorite places.

JACK FRANKS purchased this chalet in 2005

Why JACK FRANKS chose Tennessee

It is so close to all the activities. Our favorite place is Dollywood and we can be there in 10 minutes. We just fell in love with the river and never get tired of watching it flow especially after a rain storm.

What makes this chalet unique

No steep crooked mountain roads. Once you get inside you never know you have neighbors. In fact the neighborhood is great for walking is very clean and well kept. Why would you want to stay any place else?

The home was beautiful, spacious, convenient, close to everything, yet it feels like ur miles away!

This was such a wonderful place to stay on vacation!! My family thoroughly enjoyed the river right out the back doors. So peaceful in the morning, sitting on the deck, drinking coffee, watching the ducks fly over the river and the sounds of tranquility. The hot tub was such a treat at the end of our long days of shopping, entertainment, and long drives into the Smokies. I can't say enough about this property, I have to admit that I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews. However my family had NO issues with our stay. We will definitely be back. I have already given out the property number to several friends who are wanting to stay here. Love it!!

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 boys for four days. It was absolutely beautiful, my favorite was sitting out on the deck listening to the river every morning while enjoying a cup of coffee. There is lots of wonderful wildlife to see, one morning I saw a beautiful blue bird, a red headed woodpecker and a heron!! The home had everything that we needed to cook with and tv and wifi for our children after a long day out in Gatlinburg. One thing I would have loved to have had was screen doors so we could listen to the river from inside the home! Overall I would highly recommend this home it's was very affordable and relaxing!

Thank you!

Comfortable and feels like home.

Well most of my experience here was very good minus a few small things. On arrival our key code didn't work but was quickly remedied by the owner who was very kind.

When we entered the property everything looked nice and clean and well kept. As we began to unpack we noticed that the last guest still had things in the drawers of a bathroom. It seems the previous guest had decided to hide underwear in a drawer in the bathroom. That wasn't a really big deal though with a quick dump and some Lysol it was easily remedied. Now our first major problem came in trying to use the jacuzzi tub for the first time. After filling the tub and getting in when the jets were turned on they began to shoot black slivers and things from them. After letting it run for a while I drained and tried again. Again it followed the same pattern. After about four times of rinse and repeat it finally produced clean water. I would place the blame for it on not proper cleaning but I understand things can happen. The last and worst problem we had faced was in the guest bathroom. In attempting to climb into the large jacuzzi/shower the handle to enter ripped loose from the wall. Upon further inspection I noticed that the safety handle had been fastened to sheet rock with no stud behind it. I don't know if this was a purposeful thing or and accident but regardless I almost slipped and fell.

For all the little problems we had we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Mr. Franks was very courteous and kind in helping us with any troubles we had. I will say though when we called the local contact who seems to be the house cleaner she was very short and mildly rude with her tone.

I would recommend this place for anyone with a smaller budget. For the amount you would spend at a shotty hotel this hidden gem is a perfect getaway for your family.

Very pleased

This chalet was beautiful. Very cozy! Housekeeper keeps it clean and provided enough linen for my crew. The sound of the river was very relaxing. Sounds like soft pouring rain all day. The only problem we had was someone opened our bottle of wine. 😱
