About the property

3 bedrooms, loft, bunk room, 2 baths, Sleeps 12.

This luxury peg, post and beam timber-frame cabin sits on top of a ridge on 50 unspoiled acres. Quiet, secluded with spectacular mountain views all around. Explore the walking trails on the property that lead to the Top-O-The-Ridge where you can see the North Carolina side of the Blue Ridge off in the distance. Follow the less strenuous get-away trail which will lead you to an intimate view of the peaceful valley below while relaxing in an Adirondack chair or on the A-frame swing. Maybe just head down the ridge to Helton Creek, which borders the property, and enjoy the sounds of the bold stream or try your hand at fly fishing for some of the native or stocked trout. Or...just sit on the porch and enjoy the vistas or the horses that roam the property. You may never want to leave!

This beautiful home has 3 porches, each with spectacular views. Enjoy dinner or a warm fire outside on the back deck. Build a roaring bon-fire in the camp fire pit overlooking Grayson Highlands State Park. At night the stars are magnificent! Inside, sit on the large hearth of the nearly 30 foot stone fireplace and soak in the warmth and sounds of another crackling fire.

Indulge in the many activities close by. Lily Ridge is just 10 min. from the Virginia Creeper Trail and only 3 miles from Grayson Highlands State Park. Local attractions/activities include hiking, fishing, biking, horseback riding, music, and festivals throughout the year.

West Jefferson, NC is 25 min away where there are a variety of restaurants from BBQ to fine dining. Enjoy local art work, shops and antiquing. Nearby, enjoy the ambiance, a glass of wine and fine dining offered by the River House located on the North Fork of the New River. For family style with an atmosphere and history all it's own, check out Shatley Springs and don't forget to grab a bottle of fresh spring water, said to cure many an ailment. There are several golf courses located in West Jefferson and the New River is a beautiful place to canoe, tube or kayak.

In the other direction over the peak of Whitetop Mountain, is Abingdon, Virginia, a vibrant and quaint destination and home to the historic Barter Theater. Abingdon is a short 45 minute drive along the famed Crooked Road Music Trail. Explore the town, try the original Tavern which has been in continuous operation since the 1700's and visit the Abingdon Winery on the way there or on the way back to Lily Ridge.

Boone, NC is an hour from Whitetop as well as the quaint community of Blowing Rock. Shop, ski, rock climb or zip line. The choices in and around Lily Ridge Cabin are limitless.

We manage the property personally to make sure your stay is an enjoyable and memorable experience! We hope you will consider staying with us soon!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I want you to know we had a wonderful time and found the cabin and surroundings to be beyond our expectations! Everyone agreed that we couldn't have chosen a more perfect spot to celebrate our big birthdays! We really enjoyed the shops in W. Jefferson and had great lunches at Sweet and Savory and the Tavern Hotel. On Friday it rained all day, and we had lunch in Abingdon at (appropriately) Rain - it was wonderful! We had decided to have dinners in to avoid driving after dark and were so pleased with the kitchen and cooking accommodations. The trails at Grayson Highlands Park were perfect for those of us who like to hike, and being a horse lover, I couldn't have been more thrilled to enjoy my morning coffee while watching them from the deck! Thank you so much for thinking of everything to make your guests feel so welcome. We give Lily Ridge Cabin a 5+ star review!

beautiful house and perfect setting

  • 5 of 5

The owners were so accomodating, checking in after we got there to make sure we got there okay and that the cleaning was sufficient. Very helpful in suggesting things to do. The driveway was a bit intimidating:) But a fun hike up and down once we decided to park and stay at the bottom. Soooo close to Grayson Highlands Park which was great, and lots to explore on the property as well. The house was perfect in the way it was set up and so nicely decorated. Thank you for sharing your home!!

Special Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Six adults and two young children in our family stayed here for a wonderful long weekend in September. We loved exploring the grounds, meeting the horses, and witnessing the fantastic views. The landscape was the perfect backdrop for family photos. The home was very clean and beautifully decorated, and I enjoyed that my two dogs could be with me though the home felt pet-free. For attractions in the area, we visited Grayson Highlands State Park (perfect timing with the fall festival) and enjoyed lunch another day at the Damascus Old Mill Inn and dinner to-go from Pie on the Mountain in Lansing as mentioned in one of the other reviews. No matter the weather conditions, we do recommend 4-wheel drive/AWD vehicles as the driveway is gravel and quite steep around the upper turn. The trip was extremely relaxing, and we would definitely stay at the cabin again in the future.

Gorgeous cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time here! It’s was clean and equipped with all basics we would need. It was very close to the drop off for the VA Creeper which we enjoyed for one of the days. The wrap around porch and fire pits gave the cool weather a nice feel. We built a fire in the fire place, enjoyed the theater in the basement, poured a couple baths, had a couple walk-by’s from the horses, and took a vigorous hike up the hill for a beautiful view. There was a horse show out and swing just down from the cabin where we enjoyed more views. Wow! It couldn’t have been a more perfect location for what we needed away from our busy life. We hope to return again soon. Thank you so much!!

VA Creeper Trail Trip

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house and property! The house is extremely clean, comfortable, with lots of amenities and contained everything we needed for an enjoyable stay! The scenic mountain views from the house are beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the horses on the property and we also saw deer on the property during our stay. The owners were prompt with our communications, helped us to have a great stay and were wonderful to work with. The house is very convenient to the VA Creeper Trail and Highlands Grayson State Park.
