This oceanfront home offers privacy and a unique view of one of California's most beautiful bays. Located on a private stretch of sand, this charming cottage is well maintained and lends itself to magnificent views and simplified living......walk on the beach in the morning, read after breakfast, swim or surf at midday, cook in the afternoon..... The Pacific ocean coupled with the design and beauty of this classic beach house makes this one of the finest homes on the California coastline.
Paul was so helpful and such a great host! The house was absolutely perfect for our little family of four. Our kids loved the bunk bed room. The view is unbeatable and the house had everything we needed for our stay. If anything was needed, Paul would come right over to fix it himself. The chairs on the lawn are as perfectly lovely as they look. My favorite was lying there for hours listening to the ocean. Hoping to return to this piece of paradise again! You will not be disappointed with this cottage at all! If you're trying to decide, pick this one!
From the moment that we turned into the gated property until we left the healing Pacific behind us on our way home we were truly in a place of healing and renewal! We felt safe in a world spinning out of control...even for just a little while!
The property beckoned us in through a private gate and we were greeted with the scent and vibrant colors of blooming flowers.
An instant smile came across our faces as we walked up the short path to our delightful cottage for the next 5 days. It was inviting and homey and as we stepped into the house we immediately knew we had chosen the right place! The expansive glass "walls" gave a breathtaking, unobstructed view of the great Pacific literally at our doorstep! We spent much time in the perfectly placed and comfortable lounges outside on lush green grass.
We walked along the waters' edge in the early hours of the morning as the tide was out and sat under the umbrella at high noon enjoying our lunch.
Evening tide found us sipping on wine watching the sun be swallowed up behind the western hill and Catalina Island... Then as the lights began to twinkle along the beach line and the temperatures cooled we moved inside where the fireplace warmed and embraced us. We were in heaven! Peaceful and able to visit with family gathered around.
My son, who has an A/V company, was also able to work remotely (after tweeking the system just a bit) . The cottage had everything we needed and the owner was always just a phone call away.
We sadly left there but know full well that we will undoubtedly be back!! Our sincerest thanks!
If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The entire booking process and communication with the owner went flawlessly. Everything was perfect upon our arrival, down to the fresh flowers. The owner even arranged for additional outdoor seating to accommodate our family which was very thoughtful. The house was so comfortable and beautiful, and literally just steps from the beach. We enjoyed grilling and wine on the private grassy patio while taking in gorgeous sunsets, and hearing the tranquil sounds of the ocean waves throughout the house. The location was also ideal for taking in the sights, although we enjoyed the house so much that we spent much of our time there. This was our little piece of heaven, and we definitely look forward to coming back!
We live about 45 minutes north of Capistrano Beach and as soon as we walked through the home's gate, we found ourselves transported a world away into this little slice of heaven: unbeatable location, amazing views and a wonderful home that is one of only a few of the original beach cottages in Capistrano Beach. Updated enough for comfort while retaining the beautiful mid-century post & beam architecture, indoor-outdoor living concept and single-story design (which was important for our group of travelers), we spent our days listening to the waves crash, watching dolphins, pelicans and sandpipers and collecting a huge variety of pebbles that are common on this stretch of sand. (Note: we are not water sport people, but the options are available if it's what you like to do!) It was the perfect semi-staycation for our family, the definition of relaxation and the owner was so accommodating. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Paul. We will definitely be back again.
First off I want to thank the owner (Paul) for welcoming us back for the second year in a row. Our family loves this house, and we have made PRICELESS memories here. This year we had a new baby (2 months) and the owner offered many extra accommodations. The house has been updated in many ways, and is extremely clean. Every aspect of this house is simply amazing. We surf fished every night, and never left the beach empty handed. The owner let us check-in early, and there were gorgeous fresh cut flowers on the dining table. The rocks on the beach move with the tide so it was not a problem at all for our toddler to build massive sand castles. Also, this beach is private so no umbrella's in front of your house. Thanks again Paul - This has become a family tradition for us! See you next year!
We rented the house for a week - my birthday week - and hosted anywhere from a couple of people overnight, to a day party, to using all 5 bunkbeds. The house is kid friendly, beach is Southern California so it can't be anything but wonderful. We spent every morning sitting in the lounge chairs looking at the ocean and marveling in it's beauty. If you are familiar with a beach house, this one is very typical. Bathrooms are a bit small, kitchen could use a little updating but it's a great place, we would come back instantly and I highly recommend it. The owners were very gracious, welcoming with fresh flowers on the dining table and completely responsive to our questions and needs.
