About Paula Black, Manager

We enjoy living on the Homosassa River because of the peaceful atmosphere. Eagles perch on our trees. Dolphins swim pass and play. Pleasure Boats and shrimp-crab-fishing boats tug by daily. Our property is a nine-acre site that is surrounded by the Homosassa River, a spring fed waterway that flows with the tides. By boat or vehicle you can be fishing or swimming on the Gulf of Mexico in 30 minutes or less. This area offers many fun activities and is close enough to enjoy tourism in Orlando or Tampa. But you always can come home to the River...

Paula Black, Manager purchased this house in 2013

Why Paula Black, Manager chose Florida Central Gulf Coast

Sunset Point is located on nine acres. We live here, along with three permanent tenants. This is not a property that has been thrown together and has an absentee owner. It is not a 'wild and crazy party' house... Great love and care has gone into the development of this nine acres since the late nineties. Our land was a rare find and thousands of hours have gone into its development. We desire to share it's beauty, but maintain our home and lands deserved respect. For sure, Sunset Point has one of the best vistas of the water in all directions. The Sunsets are breathtaking. If you live in Florida, get here on a 'Want to 'Getaway' on a tank of gas... If you love boating, bring your boat... your own private river front Boat Dock awaits your visit. Navigate to the Gulf of Mexico. The water can't be better. Florida friends: Why would you travel two days out of state for vacation? Save time... vacation in Homosassa... If you close your eyes you can imagine being anywhere in the world right here in Homosassa. Now, to our out of state friends: Why would you come to Florida and not stop by to see the 'Ole Florida' where Native Americans camped on the shores of this fabulous river hundreds of years ago. The river islands are worth seeing via boat. Some brave folks even built homes on these islands. You cannot get a clear understanding of Florida from Disney. Come over here and relax with the mermaids. If you have never seen springs, don't miss ours. This is living with meaning, not traffic, noise and congestion. Welcome Home Friends!

What makes this house unique

Sunset Point's river views are breathtaking. Watch the shrimp and crab boats tug by. Birdwatching is fabulous. Fishing is great. THIS IS 'A PLACE TO REPLENISH YOUR SOUL!'

Great home experience beautiful Homosassa

  • 4 of 5

The property was conveniently located right on the river, which was great for our family and boats. Although, the weather did not cooperate on the days we planned to scallop, my family had an amazing time in the home we rented and were fortunate enough to swim in the spring. The weather was decent enough to have our try at scalloping one of the days and we were thankful! Our scalloping adventure was complete with a wild dolphin show. It was an incredible time! My only complaint and confusion is in regards to the $95 cleaning fee. You would think that the cleaning fee wouldn't require you to do your own laundry (as the owner requires you to clean the linens and towels before check out). The part that scares me about that, is what if the previous renter did not clean the sheets?! Despite that inconvenience, our stay still deserves a four star review.

Great house, perfectly located on the river. Awesome sunsets.

  • 5 of 5

The property was better than advertised. My husband and I and another couple rented this property to go scalloping for the weekend. (We could have easily has one more couple join us because the home has a large pull-out sofa bed.) Lovely home right on the river between the springs and the gulf. Boat ramp is close and there are a few spots to boat up to for a beer and a bite to eat nearby. The home was very clean and fully stocked. The downstairs covered area has plenty of space to grill and hang out. Sunset from the wrap around porch is outstanding. I will definitely rent this property again and highly recommend it to others.

We love it here

  • 5 of 5

We love it here, we plan to come back next year and extend our stay. The views are stunning, we love all the birds, dolphins, otters, manatees, and other wildlife we see so often. The weather is great and we love the privacy, peace and quiet. We don't get all the tourists which makes doing things much more enjoyable. This is a great place to kayak and boat.

Paula and George are the best landlords ever. The people here are very friendly and helpful.
