We had a great time
There’s nothing fancy about this camp, but it’s comfortable and quaint and it more than met our needs. We made good use of the bicycles, riding them all the way into Burlington several times. Also used the kayaks almost every day, exploring for hours. The screened-in porch is a wonderful place to sit and watch the lake activities if you just want to sit. We never made use of any of the indoor extras, but with tv and dvd’s and games etc, I’m sure a rainy day wouldn’t be a problem.
Exactly as advertised, quaint rustic camp. Wonderful lake views, sunrises.
Great place to unwind. Close to bike paths, Burlington, shopping, etc.
From ping pong, FoozBall, water sports, Blue Camp has it all. Rainy days, no problem, HD TV, DVD’s, board games, cards or books etc.
If your looking to go back to the 1930’s with modern amenities, “Blue Camp” is your place. John was an attentive, welcoming host. Already booked for next year!
A very well kept cabin with a picturesque view! We enjoyed our week long stay. The weather was great, the screen porch was great. We even slept on the screen porch for 3 nights! Rode bikes to Thayer Beach and on the Causeway, kayaked around the lake and paddled boarded too!!!! Ate ice cream every night at Village Scoop. Drove to downtown Burlington and had lunch on Church Street and shopped the unique stores. The cabin is centrally located for sightseeing!
Wonderful vacation spot!
We loved our three week stay at Blue Camp! The camp is rustic, but very charming. It is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing and reinvigorating vacation. We took long walks in the morning, biked into Burlington or to the Islands in the afternoon, and kayaked in the evening. And in between we sat on the magical screened porch, enjoying the lovely view and the activities in the bay. We also enjoyed the proximity to Burlington and Winooski for a variety of great restaurants, and to state parks for great hiking.
My husband has never taken 3 weeks off from work. We were worried he would get restless and want to go back. But he loved our time at Blue Camp and we have already scheduled a return trip for next summer.
Lovely view; well-equipped house; relaxing stay.
We had a wonderful week at the Blue Camp. Even in rainy weather, the view from the screened-in porch is spectacular. The house is well-equipped and thoughtfully stocked. We enjoyed the kayaks and walks on the causeway. Malletts Bay is a beautiful spot and we loved our time there.
Exactlly as described. Everything you could want.
Every amenity is provided, great location, access to dock space was a great plus. Would rent from John again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!
Sunset Drive-In Theatre is 2 miles away. Lake Champlain is the largest freshwater lake in the United States outside of the Great Lakes and has many picturesque islands and coves to explore. The Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York offer many hiking trails and scenic drives. With all of its natural beauty, low population density (second least populated state after Wyoming), and opportunities to experience the outdoors, Vermont is a popular destination spot for tourists (tourism is Vermont's largest industry).
All rental periods in June, July & August are weekly from Saturday at Noon to the following Saturday at 10:00am. This is a housekeeping cottage. There is no cleaning service so the cottage must be left in clean condition. Any bed linens or towels used during your stay must be washed and dried in the washer & dryer located on the premises, folded and returned to the dressers and closets.
