A Piece of Pure Michigan

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing!

My mom rented it for a week for a family vacation/bachelorette weekend for my bridesmaids.

The first half of the week was family, and we spent much time building sand castle with the one nephew in the pristine sand.

The second half of the week was filled with tanning and swimming.

The weather was hit and miss, but when isn't it hit and miss in Michigan.

Frankfort is literally a 15/20 minute drive up M-22 and its a super cool little town. We ordered pizza from A'Papanos Pizza right on Main Street, and it was so good!

We did all of our grocery shopping up at the Glens Market, which was very well stocked.

I hope to end all my Augusts in Arcadia.

Just a really cool place. Slept like a champ every night, ate great food, sat and watched the waves and the stars...cause you can see the MILKY WAY when all the lights are off...

Again...just a cool place!

Loved it, and so did my two sisters, mom, finance, nephew and two bridesmaids.

Place was clean, rooms were decorated super cool, and the property was awesome.

Great vacation home on Lake Michigan

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in May, and it was exactly what we were looking for! The house was cleaned and well maintained, and felt more like a home than a cottage. Great views of the lake from the living room / kitchen area, and from the bedrooms. The beach is right out the back door and down a couple of steps, and was a great beach with clean water and lots of sand. We saw neighbors on the beach to both sides, but never more than a couple people.

We found the house pretty much as described. There are two bedrooms upstairs, and a little daybed thingy in the upstairs hallway. Also a full bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, there is living room / kitchen area which was great, another bathroom, and smaller room with a couch and T.V.. Also what looked like a 3 season patio, which we didn't use.

A couple minor things I would mention. Plan to bring your own food. We did not eat out at all, but it looked like at least a 15-20 minute drive to the nearest restaurants. Also, I am not sure if the house had air conditioning, though several of the windows are set up to provide good cross-breezes. And finally, there is what looked like a rental cottage area right down the road, though we did not have any problems with noisy renters during our stay. Overall, none of these things bothered us at all.

To sum up, this is our new favorite rental home! We loved being right on the lake, and at a rate just the two of us could afford. It is a great place to get away from everything and relax. We would definitely recommend it, and are definitely planning to return next year.

Arcadia Bluffs
Car: recommended

Located along northwest Michigan's 'Third Coast' Arcadia is a small lakeshore community. The cabin is nestled in a small hamlet of cottages and year round homes north of Arcadia. Our 50 ft. sugar sand beach is private and will have few passerbys as you enjoy the stunning views from your deck. The area within 45 minutes drive boasts some of the best golf in the nation, such as Arcadia Bluffs 3 miles south, and great lesser courses to warm up on. Casinos and antiquing are near as well as blue ribbon trout streams and National Forests. Excellent restaurants invite for those days when you don't feel like grilling out or cooking, in Arcadia and close by quaint small towns. Traverse City is waiting for unlimited activity if a larger city is a desired destination. Morel hunting and fall color getaways are outstanding with winter skiing and trails to top of the off season. Enjoy!

Ski: Crystal Mountain is a 20 min. drive and Caberfae in about 50 minutes. Excellent sledding at Onekma High School just 10 miles down the road.
