Located in the Vieux Port district, this sunny and sprawling duplex apartment is approximately 1240 square feet and currently configured as 2 bedrooms with an upper level and an outdoor balcony offering a breathtaking view of the harbor and the Central Plaza, a charming Italian square. With a brand new bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen with top line appliances, a dining room with soaring ceilings, Provençal floor tiles and large beams, this space was designed to be luxurious and theatrical.
We have focused on every detail: from softness of the pillows, to the comfort of the couch, to the richness of the bath towels… While the apartment is modern, great care is put into the décor reflecting a Mediterranean style.

A - GENERAL RENTAL TERMS
. In order to have access to the apartment, the welcome agreement should be signed and the security deposit should be received before your arrival in Marseille. Once the agreement is signed and the security deposit is received, you will get the information regarding the check in.
1 - Duration of rental:
Your stay cannot exceed the number of nights indicated on your rental contract.
2 - Arrivals:
. Arrival is handled at the apartment between 2 pm and 8 pm. Should the apartment be vacant the night prior to your arrival, we offer the possibility of entry before 2 pm.
. When receiving your contract, you will also receive an itinerary and telephone number to contact. As we will wait in the apartment to welcome you, in case of delay at your arrival, we ask you to inform us as soon as possible so we may reorganize accordingly. If delay exceeds one hour, an extra charge of 30€ will be due.
. Any check in between 11:00 pm to 5 am will be subject to 30€ late check in fee.
3 - Departure:
. Check out time is between 8 am and 11 am.
. We will meet you at the agreed time. A survey of the apartment will be done in your presence.
. The tenant will, at this time, return the keys.
. Any delay or absence at check out time will be charged 30€.
. If you must leave the apartment before 8 am, a supplement of 30€ will be charged.
. Should the apartment be vacant the evening of your departure date, it is possible to request to stay in the premises until 3 pm. Please do not hesitate to contact us to know whether this option is possible or not.
. If your departure time must be after 3 pm we suggest that you extend your rental time to 7 pm, for a supplement of only 20% of the per night rate, provided that the apartment is not rented that evening. Should this apply to you, please contact us and we will try and satisfy your request.
B - USE OF PREMISES
. The residence shall not be occupied by or left in the care or anyone not listed below. The number of people occupying the apartment must not exceed the number of 4 people. No exceptions will be made. This policy guarantees our customers maximum comfort.
. The guest shall not keep any pets without written permission from the owner.
. The apartment is for personal use only. The apartment is not to be used for professional or commercial activities of any kind. The guest shall use the premises only as a temporary residence and shall not engage illegal, dangerous nuisance or other activity that could embarrass the owner or cause the owner to receive complaints from other residents or building management.
. The guest and accompanying occupants agree to not make noise or otherwise disturb other tenants and agree to respect the rules common to the building. Should the guests ignore the rules of the building, they engage their sole responsibility.
. The owner shall not be responsible for any injury, loss or damage to tenant and guests or guest's belongings other than as a result of the owner gross negligence.
. The guest agrees that smoking is not allowed in the apartment.
. The guest agrees to be responsible for insuring his personal property.
. During reasonable hours, the owner shall have the right to enter the premises for necessary repairs, upon prior notice of the guest.
. The owner will not be held responsible for cuts in water, gas or electrical service, or theft or damages involving the guest’s personal effects. Nor will the owner be held responsible for neighborhood nuisances.
C - RESERVATION, DAMAGE DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT OF BALANCE
1) The guest will pay a reservation/damage deposit of 500€ (for stays up to 3 months) to confirm the reservation.
. For long stays (more than 3 months) the guest will pay a reservation/damage deposit of 1000€ to confirm the reservation.
. The deposit automatically converts to a damage deposit upon check in. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent.
2) The deposit is fully refundable within the day of departure:
a. If all debris, rubbish and discards will be removed from the apartment.
b. If no dishes will be left dirty. A 50€ supplement will be charged if the dishes is left dirty or the garbage is not removed from the apartment.
c. If no damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
d. If all keys are given back to the property manager the day of check out.
e. If all charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
f. If no linens are lost or damaged.
g. If the tenant is not evicted by the owner.
h. If the full balance of rent is due before check-in.
i. If no charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or
Services rendered during the stay, if no illegal, dangerous, professional or commercial activities of any kind have occurred during the stay.
1. 100% refund of the reservation/damage deposit if the cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to check-in date. No refund of the reservation/damage deposit for cancellation within 30 days of check-in. Any adjustments of rental dates (if possible) must be made 45 days prior to check-in, otherwise no reservation/damage deposit is refunded.
2. Monthly guests must cancel 60 days prior to check-in. Monthly guests who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least 60 days prior to check-in.
3 – Early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit.
4¬ - the payment for premises is refundable only where there is “force majeure” or written agreement between the owner and the tenant.
5 - Cancellation should be made by email; cancellations by phone are not admitted.
6 - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in.
The guest agrees that violation of this agreement will require the tenant to immediately vacate the apartment and forfeit the payment and security deposit.
This agreement represents the entire agreement and understanding between the owner and the guest. Any modification shall be in writing and signed by both parties to be binding.

I enjoyed Marc's apartment along with my two daughters and a friend for 2 weeks in the fall of 2016. It was as described - which to me is the gold standard. I am a Resort Manager and a former VRBO Owner myself and while not particularly fussy I expect to get what I pay for and I was very pleased with my stay. We all agreed that it was a perfect location at a good price point for us. Overlooking the Plaza below was endlessly fascinating and the view of the harbor in the other direction was equally wonderful. The afternoon sun glowing through the west facing French Doors was beautiful. The apartment is very spacious and tastefully if somewhat sparsely furnished (but definitely adequate) and the kitchen was modern and fully functional; there was everything we needed to make our own meals when we wanted to. The electronics were better than I would normally expect in a rental; TV with lots of channels, a good stereo system and above average wifi - none of which I care to do without. The washing machine worked and was used but the dryer cycles did not work. However there was a drying rack which served but also indicates to me that this is a known bug.
The location in addition to the views was near a host of restaurants of every type from Vietnamese to McDonalds, outdoor cafes too numerous to count and several grocery stores within a couple of blocks and a pharmacy. Also, I rented a car for a week of our stay, and while I would never recommend driving in Marseille for the faint of heart there is underground parking available right across the street. A bus stop is right across the street as well as a taxi stand (which was perpetually manned) and a metro station nearby, closer to the harbor itself.
Our family ( 2 adults and 2 teens) had a great stay in this beautiful apartment. It's location next to the old port is excellent for visiting Marseille. Underground parking was great (just across the street). We would definitely recommend this apartment. Thanks so much!
My son and I stayed at this flat for one week a couple of years ago. I did not write a review at the time, but now that I am looking at VRBO again for vacation, I am thinking, "better late than never".
We both loved this apartment in Marseille. Perfect location, we could walk every day to various great parts of Marseilles, restaurants and cafes. Spacious, clean and confortable. Both beds were very confortable and actually great for my bad back. I especially loved the sense of simplicity and space of the place. The kitchen was great, well equipped, in fact we cooked and ate many meals and felt at home. Parking was great, just below the ground 30 just across the street, and at a reasonable daily rate. Finally, it was nice to have the large windows right over an animated square, felt right in the middle of the life of Marseille, especially that we were there right during the last World Cup and it was fun mayhem overtime the french of the Algerian team won a match. The flat is spacious, airy and well designed. The balcony is a showstopper with the best views of the square - you can sit out with a glass of wine in the evenings and watch the world go by. Perfect location with all the facilities we needed.
We (two adults and one teenager) have just returned from an excellent stay in Marseille. We often stay in self catering accommodation and this is one of the best we have stayed in for the size, quality of accommodation, the facilities in the apartment and location. It was a stone's throw away from the Vieux Port from which there are good public transport links. Marseille itself had more to offer than we had realised and there was more than enough to do in the six days we spent there. We would definitely return to both Marseille and this apartment. Even with the 106 step climb!
So pleased as we walked in the door. Spacious, clean with beautiful open living area. Two separate bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds and good storage for clothing. Well appointed kitchen with all you need and a nice bathroom.
Great location within an easy walk to the metro, ferry and all the vieux port sights. Nice bakery a few doors down for a simple morning coffee and croissant as well as a small store for a quick grocery shop. Restaurants are plentiful just across the Cours Jean Ballard and many places to stop for an afternoon break and sit outside.
We would also enjoy a late afternoon break sitting in the comfortable living area with the sun shining in the open windows that lead to balconies. Nice view from this 4th floor duplex. That means 5 flights of stairs so would not work for someone who would have difficulty with this. For us it was not a problem and we enjoyed the view. Getting suitcases up and down upon arrival and departure was an effort but we were offered help.
We also appreciated the many guide books and maps that were in the duplex.
I would absolutely stay here again!
