The unique, charming Potter's Cottage is the private and separate half of a 120 year old limestone house. It is located in a country-like setting just 4 blocks from Marketplatz on Main Street. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other has two twin beds. One room is 4 steps up, the other 9 steps down from the comfortable living room. Walk through the private entrance into a living room filled with art. Two outdoor seating areas, one with a chiminea, offer a lovely setting to enjoy the drier, cooler weather of the Texas Hill Country. The patios are fenced as this is a pet friendly home away from home.
Finn, the owner of this house is an award winning potter. The art- filled rooms reflect her love of beauty, simplicity and the hand made.
You'll enjoy a quiet stay here, reminiscent of simpler times in a small Texas town.

'While growing up in San Antonio, I had often visited the Hill Country as a child. Even then, I knew that some day, some way, I would live there. When my son was 4 years old, that opportunity came and we moved here to this very special small town with its wonderful community.'
This antique and art filled property, is a well cared for, family home that has in the past, sheltered many people in a loving way. The sun bleached limestone walls give this house it's rightful sense of place in the Texas Hill Country.
We had a lovely time here. This was our first visit to Fredericksburg and will remember it fondly. We really enjoyed sitting in the backyard with the fire going at night. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfy stay. Zoey loved being able to roam around your fenced yard.
Thank you so much. Have a lovely Holiday! We will be back again!
This cottage is very welcoming and comfortable. The owner lives next door and was quickly available to solve some minor issues with the TV and AC. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway in the Hill Country!
The only two complaints is that there didn't seem to be much hot water. The showers were with luke warm water. Also the wood for the chiminea outside was too wet to burn. Other than that the cottage was cozy and enjoyable. We were within walking distance to downtown. Overall a great stay.
The Potter's Cottage was perfect for our Grandma's Weekend Away. The weekend weather was beautiful so we stayed outside quite a bit. The beds were very comfortable. The "kitchen closet" is sufficient. Normally, we take too much food - end up doing too much work, so this time since the refrigerator is small and space is limited, the most work done was deciding where we should go eat! We decided this is now our new way to travel! Less is more!
The garden area is beautiful, quiet and serene. It was perfect for conversation, laughter and just "catching up". Thank you, Finn! Enjoyed our weekend.
We had such an amazing time here!! Close to everything. We walked mostly everywhere, and everything was provided that you would find in a hotel, plus more. Our dogs tagged along with us, and there was a huge yard for them. We all loved it, and would definitely return. There was also games provided which came in hand after getting severely sunburned at the lake!. The house is decorated beautifully and the second room is so charming we loved it! We hope to make a trip down again since we didn't get to see everything. Thank you so much.
We had a great time at the house. Everything was clean and organized, and we had everything we needed. The two bedrooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed having coffee on the front porch in the morning and playing cards on the patio in the evening. It was great to be so close to downtown Fredericksburg. Highly recommend.
Potters Cottage is a cute clean hideaway within easy distance of Main Street, easy access to wineries and Enchanted Rock, and a nice courtyard or front porch to relax on after a busy day. Buy some wine and watch the fireflies. The rooms and beds are comfortable, the bathroom is very large and well equipped, and you have a small fridge for whatever, a coffee pot for the morning, and a microwave. Finn is a super nice lady and excellent hostess. We had strawberries and chocolate and apples waiting for us, as well as milk and cereal for the morning. Highly recommend this property!
