Why Mike & Heather Miller chose Jefferson City
Cherokee Lake was a lake i enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping on since my childhood. A lake front home is an awesome. It is much like a mountain chalet or a condo on the beach.

From the moment we stepped into this cottage we were captured by the stunning view through the huge windows and deck sliders. The view looks down a 59 mile lake with islands and trees and very few homes visible. The steps and path down to the lake are well placed and easy to travel. Beautiful landscaping and a deck halfway down enables a lower view of the lake and a place to oversee children playing in the water. A floating dock allows for swimming and fishing and during our stay the depth was about 20 feet. The lake level does rise and fall as monitored by the dam.
The cabin was very clean and comfortable for the four adults and three small children. We only used the TV once (satellite dish) for the kids, but we mainly chose to live unplugged.
Even the neighbors were helpful and pleasant to talk with - though you can barely see their homes. The groundskeeper came by to mow and made sure it was convenient and not bothersome to us if he mowed at that time.
We grilled and ate many meals on the deck - no restaurant could give you such a stunning ambiance!...better than a five star restaurant. And with an upper and lower deck and the one mid way down the walk...it was easy to find reflective, reading, or quiet time space.
We did rent a pontoon boat from the marina - and had a great time exploring the lake and fishing. The public boat launch is close to the cottage should you decide to bring your own boat.
We also traveled to Panther Creek State Park for an outing - and hiking. However we found that we did not have a need to explore and desired to just stay at this cottage.
Mike and Heather thank you for making this available to us, we appreciated you taking time to email us the answers to all our questions, and for being a phone call away if needed.
