Fenced back yard with a downstairs patio for BBQ and relaxing in the evenings. The back is arranged so that you can open the door, and let 'em out in the mornings without leaving your bedroom! Back arranged so your 'darlings' can have plenty of shade.
Get up and have your coffee inside, on the front deck, or downstairs with your pets. Then, take just a few steps (careful crossing the street) to the beautiful white sand beaches for an early walk or dip in the Gulf. I would recommend waiting until the evening before taking your pets for a swim - then leash them & keep them under control. There is a shower downstairs where you can wash off the sand and salt before you go back inside. Don't forget to rinse off the animals! Sand & salt in their fur can cause itching.
Use the full kitchen to fix your meals, or choose one of the many fine restaurants in the area. If you like Pizza, they can deliver in a short while.

I am a Texan with burnt orange blood, but I discovered Gulf Shores many years ago (I was at the University of Texas), when our group took a few days off after one of the Texas/ Alabama Games. I have been coming to Gulf Shores, off and on, for many years - the only beach in Texas that comes close is on South Padre Island, and that is VERY pricey! Now I am retired, and can spend more quality time here with my kids, grandkids, and all the dogs.

I have been coming to Gulf Shores, off and on, ever since I discovered it in the 60's. I am now retired, and chose to put my investment in this wonderful property. My kids and grandkids will be able to enjoy it, long after I am gone.
It's a long trip from Castroville, Texas (700 miles), but we Texans are used to long distances. Heck, we'll drive 100 miles for lunch! When we get here we always know that the hours of sitting in the car were well worth it. Now, we can stroll and/or swim at one of the most beautiful, clean beaches in the USA.
My kids and grandkids enjoy para-sailing, and I'll go out in the boat with them, but I won't go up! I enjoy being out on a sight-seeing boat, viewing the Gulf bottom and the sea life, there. The Dolphins are wonderfil! There is a great theme park in Gulf Shores where Willie Nelson has been. The youngsters enjoy the rides, like the big Ferris Wheel. Don't miss the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. Sailaway Charters gives up-close tours of creatures that inhabit Longs Bayou and Wolf Bay. The Orange Beach Art Center offers a chance to make your own glass in its glass-blowing classes.
I enjoy sipping my coffee on the front deck while the sun is coming up. I'm happy that my pets are fenced, so they don't go 'exploring.' And, I am glad that there is plenty of shade for them when that summer sun gets hot. In the evening, I love the patio area where we can BBQ and sip on our favorite beverages.
The two sides are connected with an interior door, so that when a larger than usual group stays, they can open the doors and pass back and forth without going outside.
The best part was that we could bring our dog with us; oh having the ocean right across the street was pretty great also! There are 2 empty lots kitty-corner so your view is unobstructed, and access is quick to the beach, even though the public walkway is only a few houses down.
Great access to many restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.
I would do it again, and again, and again!
It is an older house, and the salt air takes a toll on structures, just to forewarn someone who may be expecting pristine, new glistening accommodations.
We spent 5 weeks at Ariel, its a great house, close to the beach ( across the street) and a great place for dogs! We have 2 , a Lab and a Shepherd, nice fenced backyard, safe and easy in and out! The house was clean, good comfortable beds. Very nice upstairs porch. We totally enjoyed it! I would suggest a tv upgrade, if you are really in to watching , otherwise all good! We had a minor maintenance problem and they were there that afternoon and all fixed! Close to everything, convenience stores, great restaurants, you could walk to all ! Highly recommend and yes we would stay again!
The place needs a few minor repairs and some updating but overall a good place to stay. Hopefully I can go back next year and stay at the same place.
The home was not clean and for that reason the stay was not pleasant. The gate at the back door would not open, so to let the dogs into the fenced area, you had to go out and down the front steps and then around to the back the fenced in area. This was very inconvenient. There was no television service until the last day of our stay. Wifi was available and it was a good service.
The beach house is actually nicer than it looks in the pictures. It has plenty of space for everyone and we really enjoyed our stay!
The condo it's self is okay. Considering pets are allowed it has everything you need. Beach is across the street. My problem with our stay is we were told it is pet friendly....true enough the condo is....the beach is not. 500.00 fine for having your dog on the beach. In an email before we ever left he told us it would be best to walk our dogs morning or evenings which implies it is pet friendly. When I contacted him after we arrived he said it was not allowed but overlooked every year till this one. Had I known this before hand I would have booked differently. We drove 2 hours a day - to & from to find a pet friendly beach.
Extremely disappointed in the lack of honesty.
