Duncans Mills House Rental Photos and Description

Family-sized home with stunning views, seasonal kayaks and dock.

Welcome to Yesteryear, a traditional family-friendly home nestled on the banks of the Russian River in the delightful town of Duncans Mills, where shops, restaurants, groceries, coffee, and fresh pastries are all within easy walking distance.

This 2-story charmer with a wrap-around porch and spectacular river views has two full baths and will comfortably sleep 6. Downstairs is a cheerful and cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed and large window looking out to the front garden.

Upstairs you will find the master bedroom suite, a welcoming, sunlit area with a king sized, wrought iron bed, as well as a nicely appointed twin sized daybed with another twin sized pull-out trundle underneath. All matresses, both upstairs and downstairs, are high-quality memory foam. Those sleeping upstairs will be granted the pleasure of waking up to water reflections from the river dancing across the walls. Truly a beautiful and relaxing space.

The entire home is tastefully and traditionally decorated with classic, comfortable furnishings. Yesteryear offers plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and relax, in a sunny and serene setting.

Your own private dock and kayaks are provided from late May through the fall season (generally mid-October), and swimming can be enjoyed here during the warm summer months.

The view of the river from the living room is impressive enough, however the river-viewing platform perched atop the bank really takes it to another level. It is here where you can sit--virtually enveloped in nature--and truly find peace. This stretch of the river is a haven for wildlife, with common sightings of otters, herons, egrets, turtles, loons, osprey, and even sea lions. Surely no glass of wine will taste as sweet as when enjoyed with a loved one with a gently flowing river at your feet!

Amazing river hideaway

  • 5 of 5

Amazing house -- great kitchen, fireplace, rowing on the river, you name it. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway away from it all, but also only a minute's walk to a fun tiny little town.

Wonderful. Great location. Very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We all enjoyed our stay in this "throwback" to yesteryear. Very comfortable and clean with all the amenities. It exceeded our expectations. The great little coffee shop/bakery within a short walk was wonderful. Walk down to the river and enjoy your morning coffee. We all wish we had a few more days to spend here. Prior to our visit the owners did all they could to make sure our time there would be pleasurable. And it was!

Lovely house by Russian River

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this elegant and comfortable house. The living and dining areas work so well. Outside is blessed with a river frontage and the decks are a great spot for chilling out. We were lucky, we saw an Otter drifting past, until it spotted us on the deck. Convenient for getting to all amenities in the area.

One of the best homes we have rented on the river!

  • 4 of 5

We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the attention to detail. The bedding was high quality and the house was very clean. Paper towels were there toilet paper was there, salt and pepper... incidentals were there! We have been finding it necessary to pack quite a bit these days with other nearby homes due to very strict supply offerings. The fireplace was stocked set up and ready to go. The dock provided life jackets, canoe, and kayas and was open for use. We feel so fortunate to have discovered this place and we hope to return soon!

The Heavenly Realms

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I stayed for four glorious nights at "Yesteryear'. This home is my personal idea of the heavenly realms- peaceful, private, quiet, with miles and miles of pristine Russian River to explore in the well-made kayaks provided by our hosts. Every possible comfort was thoughtfully and artfully arranged, and every need was anticipated- firewood, electric tea kettle, soft towels, a good set of cooking knives, barbecue, and a washer and dryer. The photos don't begin to do justice to the beauty and care the owners have lovingly bestowed on this stately home. The entire home was clean, comfortable and cozy. I would very highly recommend 'Yesteryear'.
