About the property

Family-sized home with stunning views, seasonal kayaks and dock.

Welcome to Yesteryear, a traditional family-friendly home nestled on the banks of the Russian River in the delightful town of Duncans Mills, where shops, restaurants, groceries, coffee, and fresh pastries are all within easy walking distance.

This 2-story charmer with a wrap-around porch and spectacular river views has two full baths and will comfortably sleep 6. Downstairs is a cheerful and cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed and large window looking out to the front garden.

Upstairs you will find the master bedroom suite, a welcoming, sunlit area with a king sized, wrought iron bed, as well as a nicely appointed twin sized daybed with another twin sized pull-out trundle underneath. All matresses, both upstairs and downstairs, are high-quality memory foam. Those sleeping upstairs will be granted the pleasure of waking up to water reflections from the river dancing across the walls. Truly a beautiful and relaxing space.

The entire home is tastefully and traditionally decorated with classic, comfortable furnishings. Yesteryear offers plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and relax, in a sunny and serene setting.

Your own private dock and kayaks are provided from late May through the fall season (generally mid-October), and swimming can be enjoyed here during the warm summer months.

The view of the river from the living room is impressive enough, however the river-viewing platform perched atop the bank really takes it to another level. It is here where you can sit--virtually enveloped in nature--and truly find peace. This stretch of the river is a haven for wildlife, with common sightings of otters, herons, egrets, turtles, loons, osprey, and even sea lions. Surely no glass of wine will taste as sweet as when enjoyed with a loved one with a gently flowing river at your feet!

Comfortable and relaxing stay at a lovely home

  • 4 of 5

The perfect place to relax and ring in the new year. The fireplace and close proximity to places to enjoy NYE dinner were all reasons to stay at this wonderful vacation rental.

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

This quaint house was a perfect retreat. The view is gorgeous, couldn't be any closer to the river unless you were on a boat! Very close to 116, but at the same time seemed secluded, very peaceful. The house had everything we needed-- a well stocked kitchen with really everything you could possibly need, and also appreciated the small things (drinking water, paper towels, etc.) so we didn't have to buy/bring a ton of stuff; plenty of towels and blankets. Everything was well maintained and clean. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire, roasting s'mores, playing board games, taking walks, and driving along the coast. There are a couple restaurants, bakery, and gift shops within a few minutes walk. We came during Christmas time; we're hoping to visit again in the spring and summer. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautifully maintained classic home

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved staying in this beautiful home over Thanksgiving. The road is quiet and allowed the kids to run and get energy out without concerns of cars, the home felt historic and classic, yet was also 100% maintained, functional, clean and comfortable, a tough combination to find! Four of us slept in the top bedroom with beautiful windows overlooking the giant trees and Russian River with plenty of room to spare, and the downstairs bedroom was comfortable as well. We greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Beautiful Home on the Russian River

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at Yesteryear! It has been lovingly renovated but has kept the fun touches from long ago such as the beautiful cast iron kitchen sink and vintage gas stove. The beautiful environment just made our family's time there so comfortable and cozy... specially in the evenings around the fire. We enjoyed the wine country, Sonoma State Park and so many of the great local restaurants. Thank you for having such a gem available for people to enjoy!

Charming House on the Russian River

  • 5 of 5

We two moms and our two daughters spent a weekend in November at Yesteryear - what a beautiful setting. We drank wine by the river, drank wine by the fire and enjoyed the sites around the area. We discovered we were only 10 minutes from the ocean - incredible location! HIghly recommend!
