Sonoma County House Rental Photos and Description

Family-sized home with stunning views, seasonal kayaks and dock.

Welcome to Yesteryear, a traditional family-friendly home nestled on the banks of the Russian River in the delightful town of Duncans Mills, where shops, restaurants, groceries, coffee, and fresh pastries are all within easy walking distance.

This 2-story charmer with a wrap-around porch and spectacular river views has two full baths and will comfortably sleep 6. Downstairs is a cheerful and cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed and large window looking out to the front garden.

Upstairs you will find the master bedroom suite, a welcoming, sunlit area with a king sized, wrought iron bed, as well as a nicely appointed twin sized daybed with another twin sized pull-out trundle underneath. All matresses, both upstairs and downstairs, are high-quality memory foam. Those sleeping upstairs will be granted the pleasure of waking up to water reflections from the river dancing across the walls. Truly a beautiful and relaxing space.

The entire home is tastefully and traditionally decorated with classic, comfortable furnishings. Yesteryear offers plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and relax, in a sunny and serene setting.

Your own private dock and kayaks are provided from late May through the fall season (generally mid-October), and swimming can be enjoyed here during the warm summer months.

The view of the river from the living room is impressive enough, however the river-viewing platform perched atop the bank really takes it to another level. It is here where you can sit--virtually enveloped in nature--and truly find peace. This stretch of the river is a haven for wildlife, with common sightings of otters, herons, egrets, turtles, loons, osprey, and even sea lions. Surely no glass of wine will taste as sweet as when enjoyed with a loved one with a gently flowing river at your feet!

Great, Just as advertised!

Beautifully remodeled while retaining it's period character. Very private dock on the river with boats included! A great experience all around.

Fantastic house and location

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a 5 day stay. The house is charming, meticulously maintained and had everything we could want or need. We loved the dock and kayaking every morning. The location was so convenient, only a few min. walk to coffee/baked goods in the am, General Store and restaraunts in the evening. We did cook a couple meals in and the kitchen is well stocked and the BBQ was clean and ready to go. Yesteryear is probably one of the nicest houses along the Russian River. We'll definately come again.

Sweet house in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Right on the river with plenty of nice comfy spots to hang out and enjoy the natural beauty. We loved being here and the little town (really more like a small hamlet) was wonderful. Great little bakery/coffee house and a couple of restaurants within a short walk. The house is as cute as can be and very comfortable and quiet. We would definitely come back!

Slice of quaint heaven

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time my friends and I stayed at Yesteryear, and we never failed to have a great time. The house is absolutely perfect for 4 people, we enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the river during the sunny afternoons, and cozying up around the fireplace at night when it cooled down. The house is very conveniently located, we were able to walk to the general store in Duncans Mills to buy groceries, browse the quaint antique shops nearby, and got some delicious tea leaves from Mr. Trombly's. One morning, we walked down the road to Gold Coast Coffee & Bakery to pick up some pastries for breakfast. And when we felt like leaving the house and town, we drove 20 minutes to Armstrong National Park for a day hike.

The owners were very attentive to our needs. When I had a question about the BBQ on the deck, they called the house to give me tips and to ensure I had what I needed. They also provided drinking water, which was great because the tap water at the house is less than optimal. We also noticed there were new sheets, bedding and silverware which show how much the owners take care of the property.

My friends and I are already planning our next return, we simply cannot get enough of this place!

We had a wonderful relaxing time at Yesteryear's. It is a beautiful house with amazing views. The best part was the private dock. We enjoyed our stay very much and are sure that we will be going back!

Ideally located within the quaint town of Duncans Mills. Walk to coffee, restaurants, grocery, shops, art galleries, and wine & cheese tasting. Fifteen minutes from Guerneville in one direction, and Jenner and the ocean in the other directions. Dozens of wineries within 30 minutes, including award-winning Korbel Champagne.
