Perfect Beach Home
Truly enjoyed every second of our stay in this home! Quick access to beach and comfortable. Super close to Scallop Cove! We rented bikes from there and rode in the rain when we lost a day due to Gordon. House had everything we needed! When the coffee maker happened to break, we had another one at our door in less than a few hours. We visited with my dogs, my mother and my husband (32 and 59 years old). Was just the perfect size for us!
Great get away home!
We loved being so close to the beach with out all the people and traffic! Close to so many places if you want to get out and about. I would bring my own cooking pans the next time as well as no see -um and sand fly spray! We would love to go again next year!!
Great trip with family but would not stay at this rental again.
The trip was amazing because of being with family. The house is ok. The Pros: lots of beach accessories that the owner provides which was great. Chairs, umbrellas, toys, boogie boards, etc. A second refrigerator downstairs for food/drinks was amazing. Great hot water and water pressure in showers. Very convenient location to gas station and beach store. The rental agency/ owner was great to work with. Cons: LOTS of stairs. The main living area is up a large flight of stairs which was difficult for my 74 year old mom and 2yo. The bunk beds are on the bottom floor which if you had kids would put them 2 floors below the master and right next to the outside door (a concern for some) The beach was beautiful but a bit of a walk through the dunes on loose sand. Up hill when coming back from the beach. Again hard for my mom and hauling a toddler with beach toys. The path was very narrow and overgrown. The kitchen was ok but could be stocked a little better. The refrigerator upstairs has some quirks about making ice which we did finally figure out the day before we left. The beds were very uncomfortable. The patio furniture was either Adirondack chairs or the flimsy plastic ones from any discount store. Not a huge deal but made sitting outside less than perfect. Also you could see the ocean but not the actual beach from the deck due to the dunes. I feel that there were several areas that were not represented correctly in the description or could have used a bit more clarification in details. Overall it was a nice time but we all agreed we would not stay again at this house. We have been to the Cape several times and will continue to vacation there, just in another rental.
July 21-28 2018
The home has great views and is overall comfortable, but no one let us know that we needed to use a rope to scale the dune down to the Gulf. (About 15 feet) My husband was not able to access the beach and he could not see the Grandchildren playing from the decks - he went home half way through the week. Other than that the finishes are dated and there is pet damage on the carpets. The faucet where feet should be rinsed was completely covered with algae and it was slippery. The kitchen oven was almost impossible to regulate and that is important because it is a quite a drive to the nearest restaurants. There was not adequate linens for our group. 8 Bath towels for 11 people and no bath rugs on tile floors. The master bath shower made a very loud whistle and several of the ballast in the closets/laundry room should be replaced.
Gosh I'm sorry you had any complaints about Cape Daze it is a wonderful property. First and foremost you did not contact us regarding any issues during your stay many of which could be addressed. Since your stay we have replaced all of the carpet in the bedrooms and remodeled the master bath with a new tub and surround and faucets. The foot wash area has been treated. As far as towels and bath mats, these are inventoried every week. If for any reason you do not have enough towels or bath mats we will deliver those to the home ASAP. The path to the beach is a dune path which most people do not have a problem with but because someone requested assistance a rope was added for those who need something to grab on too. The rope is rarely used by our guests. The guests next door use the same dune path because their steps were washed away during a storm.
Great Location and View!!
Right on the beach, you can’t beat the view and location. We enjoyed our stay!!
Cape Daze in June
We loved our time at Cape Daze! There were a few hiccups but nothing TOO major....the ice maker in the fridge didn't work at all the entire time we were there. After conversing with our neighbors, we realized there must be a conspiracy between the Owners and the convenience store conveniently located within walking distance...their ice was $3/bag. Also, one morning we woke up to no water pressure which if we had been given a heads up the day before we could have prepared for it since it was a scheduled event for the city officials of the Cape. All in all though we had a great visit and can't wait for future visits!
The Ice Maker has been repaired.
I'm sorry for the loss of water pressure but the entire cape lost water pressure due to the fact that we had a home fire and the Fire Department used a tremendous amount of water fighting the fire, which affected water pressure for a few days..
Thanks for choosing Cape Daze.

Low density, just one row of houses on this section of the Gulf.
