Our unit was absolutely perfect!!! I came down with my fiance, my two grown boys & their fiance's and my 3yr old grand daughter. I thought it might be a tight fit, but it was so roomy & the out door space was fantastic. We spent more time in the pool than in the unit. The kitchen had plenty of utensils for cooking which was great with so many people. We used the grill quite a bit as well. We actually ran out of propane but I called Jackie and she had some one there within an hour to replace it. Jackie was great and so easy to correspond with. We brought our boat and had plenty of room for docking. The beds were super comfy. It really was an amazing place to stay and I will definitely be going back when we plan another trip.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The duplex was a good size, very quiet we never heard the other renters next door and there was a very large group there. I would definitely consider staying there again. One recommendation I have is for renters to buy a cheap laundry basket or perhaps it is something the owner of the property might consider adding to the unit for use. The washing machine is on one side of the duplex with the dryer on the other side of the duplex, both accessible only from the outside from the outside. Also you share the w/d with the other renters. Not having a laundry basket made it hard to carry the wet laundry from one side of the building to the other without dropping laundry onto the dirty ground. It was also difficult because several times the neighbors left their clothes in the dryer as well as on top of the dryer so I couldn't even take theirs out to put their clothes on top of the dryer because there was no room...so I found myself a couple times stuck with an arm full of wet clothes and no place to dry them. If there had been laundry baskets it would be a little easier to transport the laundry to and from. I mention the w/d situation also so that future renters are more aware and considerate of sharing the washer and dryer. There is a small clothes line you can put clothes on to dry, but I didn't want to put my bath towels and such out there...all in all it was a very nice vacation. Jackie was wonderful to work with.
Homeaway and VRBO's websites have been hacked and the hackers are sending out false information talking about giving a discount on a property you may have looked into through homeaway or vrbo! Make 100% sure you call and speak only to Jackie or Bill the owners and operator of this property or any property for that matter! I am renting this property next week and got concerned over an email I received about this property. Jackie and I just spoke and I have all the confidence in heading here next week to enjoy our vacation! Jackie has told me vrbo and homeaway have been hacked and the hackers are trying to fool people into renting at a discount 3rd party! So stay safe and use commonsense. Talk only to the person listed on the contact page!
This duplex is just perfect. We rented #5 which is the side away from the pool. It was very clean and nicely updated. We had 1 adult and 2 children and the place accommodated us just fine. The pool area was quite nice and clean. The girls had an awesome time watching the fish and the iguana that took a flying leap into the canal and swam to the other side.
Jackie did a fabulous job of responding to us and our needs. She was a huge plus for this unit. It is a perfect spot in Duck Key and easy to find. We will definitely stay here again.
We love this place. We rented one half of house. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which is really nice. The beds were comfortable. The unit was nicely furnished and recently redecorated. The unit is not real large but plenty big for a vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes and glasses. The only surprise was there is no dishwasher, we all took turns washing dishes. The yard is really nice with plenty of chairs, shade and right on the canal. We had the best time sitting there fishing and relaxing. We caught a lot of different fish and really had fun. There is a fishing cleaning station with running water right by the canal. There is a gas grill and a freezer to put caught fish in. We ate fish several nights and took some home.
The pool area was very clean and nice to sit or nap by, unfortunately the water was a little to cold for swimming, it will be much warmer within the next month. The two units share the outside areas which worked well for us, we had wonderful neighbors.
The rental manager; Jackie was excellent, we locked ourselves out of the unit and she had someone there within an hour and did not get mad at us about the inconvenience.
I would highly recommend this place if you want to relax and like to fish. Next time we come to the Keys we will definitely try to stay here. Duck Key is close to shopping and restaurants. We drove to Key West one day and it is about 60 miles which was easily doable.
We recently rented this home and it was perfect in every way. My husband fished day and night right from the dock and I lounged in the huge pool. We saw sea turtles and stingrays in the clear water canal every day. We grilled some fish that was caught. The house was super clean as was the pool and grounds. It was the most relaxing and peaceful vacation we ever had and that is exactly what we wanted. The rental agent was great too. There were no issues whatsoever and would rent this unit again. I highly recommend this unit
