Talk only to Jackie or Bill regarding this rental!

  • 5 of 5

Homeaway and VRBO's websites have been hacked and the hackers are sending out false information talking about giving a discount on a property you may have looked into through homeaway or vrbo! Make 100% sure you call and speak only to Jackie or Bill the owners and operator of this property or any property for that matter! I am renting this property next week and got concerned over an email I received about this property. Jackie and I just spoke and I have all the confidence in heading here next week to enjoy our vacation! Jackie has told me vrbo and homeaway have been hacked and the hackers are trying to fool people into renting at a discount 3rd party! So stay safe and use commonsense. Talk only to the person listed on the contact page!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

This duplex is just perfect. We rented #5 which is the side away from the pool. It was very clean and nicely updated. We had 1 adult and 2 children and the place accommodated us just fine. The pool area was quite nice and clean. The girls had an awesome time watching the fish and the iguana that took a flying leap into the canal and swam to the other side.

Jackie did a fabulous job of responding to us and our needs. She was a huge plus for this unit. It is a perfect spot in Duck Key and easy to find. We will definitely stay here again.

Better than expected!!

  • 5 of 5

We love this place. We rented one half of house. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which is really nice. The beds were comfortable. The unit was nicely furnished and recently redecorated. The unit is not real large but plenty big for a vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes and glasses. The only surprise was there is no dishwasher, we all took turns washing dishes. The yard is really nice with plenty of chairs, shade and right on the canal. We had the best time sitting there fishing and relaxing. We caught a lot of different fish and really had fun. There is a fishing cleaning station with running water right by the canal. There is a gas grill and a freezer to put caught fish in. We ate fish several nights and took some home.

The pool area was very clean and nice to sit or nap by, unfortunately the water was a little to cold for swimming, it will be much warmer within the next month. The two units share the outside areas which worked well for us, we had wonderful neighbors.

The rental manager; Jackie was excellent, we locked ourselves out of the unit and she had someone there within an hour and did not get mad at us about the inconvenience.

I would highly recommend this place if you want to relax and like to fish. Next time we come to the Keys we will definitely try to stay here. Duck Key is close to shopping and restaurants. We drove to Key West one day and it is about 60 miles which was easily doable.

Perfect for peace and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented this home and it was perfect in every way. My husband fished day and night right from the dock and I lounged in the huge pool. We saw sea turtles and stingrays in the clear water canal every day. We grilled some fish that was caught. The house was super clean as was the pool and grounds. It was the most relaxing and peaceful vacation we ever had and that is exactly what we wanted. The rental agent was great too. There were no issues whatsoever and would rent this unit again. I highly recommend this unit

Perfect rental for a relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented one half of this duplex unit and found it to be exactly as represented on the VRBO site - outstanding! It was nicely furnished with all the necessary furnishings to make us feel right at home and exceptionally clean. The two bedrooms each had their own bath and were nicely decorated. One of the main attractions here is the outside area. A large well maintained pool is the center piece with a Tiki hut for outdoor meals or for just sitting under and relaxing. The dock area along the canal proved to be an added bonus - the fishing in the canal was outstanding! With wifi, cable tv, fully equipped kitchen (also an outdoor gas grill), the fishing and a pool - we found little need to roam far from the rental. This was our third time to visit Duck Key (our first to this rental) and certainly our best experience by far. We highly recommend this unit. The owner and manager were great to work with and responded immediately to any questions. We did not have any problems with the apartment during our stay. We will definitely return to this rental next year for an extended stay.

renters beware...

  • 2 of 5

The place is nice and is as shown in the photos, however our second night here the plumbing backed up into our side. My wife cleaned the mess off the floors as we couldn't reach the owner or the property manager for a couple of hours. The owner did send a plumber and a maid out to sanitize the place but the owner tried blaming the problem on our family and refused to comp any of our stay even though my wife cleaned the mess and myself and the neighbor scowered the property trying to find the septic line to try to resolve the situation without bothering the owner. He didn't say thanks or anything and said possibly it was our fault the backup occurred even though the plumber told us the pipes are cast iron and more than likely stuff has been clogging up for some time and it finally just had enough in it to stop. So beware and hopefully nothing happens to you while you're there. Other than the owner it is a nice location and the fishing is great

Owner's Response: This guest called Sunday evening at 8:15pm to report a plumbing backup. I didn't have my phone with me at the time so I received his message an hour later at about 9:15pm. I immediately contacted a plumber for emergency after hours service. The plumber was onsite by 10:00pm and was able to resolve the problem quickly. In addition, I also contacted my housekeeper who was willing to go to the property that evening and clean up for them after the plumber was done. The claim that we did not offer any compensation for their inconvenience is simply false. In fact, in addition to apologizing multiple times I also offered what equaled to more than a one night refund for the inconvenience, which given the fact that we were able to resolve the issue promptly after hours on a Sunday evening, I felt was very fair. This guest, however, was being very unreasonable in his demands. If you read all our reviews you will see that we run a 5 star property that is well maintained. It is always important to me that our guests enjoy their stay and are satisfied with the property. I have been in the vacation rental business for nearly 15 years. Despite all my efforts to satisfy this guest, I was unable to do so, however, I can honestly say that this guest was the most unreasonable, rude, and insulting guest that I have ever had.
