We had a very relaxing week on the farm. Access to the river was great as was the fishing. The house fulfilled all our needs and the night sky was beautiful.
Looking forward to going back soon!
This is a beautiful place nestled away from it all! A beautiful low lying bridge over the Shanendoah River takes you up a path to the house. Lots of room to hike, walk, explore and play! Owners are great and got right back to us with any questions we had. We would love to come back!
We very much enjoyed our recent stay on this beautiful farm. It is located in a large river bend of the north fork of the Shenandoah River and backs to the mountains and forest. We enjoyed the secluded location and that it was still close to “sightseeing”, such as the Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, hiking etc. But there is also a lot one can do on the farm, such as enjoying the fireplace on the riverside, taking short hikes etc. It was not only very quiet, relaxing and beautiful, but also very well maintained. Both, the house and the farm were absolutely charming and very clean. The house is very well appointed. It was also extremely spacious for our family of three and we enjoyed having so much room. Kathleen was very nice, helpful and generous. She and Jerry went out of their way to make our stay special and something to remember – our son was even permitted to ride the golf-cart around the farm (although that is probably not the norm). Before we arrived, she announced that she had gotten us “something to get started”. The wonderful “goodie bag” was easily more than enough for the first weekend. Kathleen’s attention to detail was heartwarming; not only did the “starter kit” contain some nice wine, but she even had gone out of her way to ensure that all the items including Spaghetti, Chips and Rolls were gluten-free - she had remembered that I mentioned one of the guests needed to eat gluten free. In short: We would return any time and very highly recommend this property.
Our recent stay was absolutely perfect. The house was well furnished, very comfortable and spic and span. Kathleen was so nice and helpful. She made sure everything was easy and convenient for us. It was exactly as we had hoped. It was quiet, serene, comfortable and so peaceful. We painted, we fished, we went hiking and then relaxed. We had a campfire by the riverside and watched the the sky fill up with stars. Our only regret was leaving - we should have stayed longer.
A beautiful and serene spot - the pictures don't do the location justice. Nestled on a beautiful farm, among the mountains, and along the clear, usually shallow waters of the north fork of the Shenandoah River. The house was very comfortable for our party of 8 - the teens slept on the couch and pull out couch. Owners were very accommodating during an unusual weather situation and very understanding of an unexpected family emergency. We would all return to the property for a long weekend getaway, in any season.
