We have lived in this area for a long time. Residents and visitors to the area find it charming.
Noi or Jamie purchased this house in 2000
The location is very close to Los Angeles International Airport, yet it is just off the Ocean at the very quiet end of the peninsula on a serene walk street and open corner lot. The building is open, light and airy.
Bicycle on the Sand to Venice Beach Boardwalk, Farmer Markets, restaurants, etc... Boogieboard, swim, walk & relax on the serene part of the Beach. Four bicycles are provided with the rental. Two reserved parking spaces come with Best-at-the-Ocean.
The location is wonderful and the house is exquisite. You have thought of everything that a person would need. We also loved sitting in the massage chair. We would love the chance to stay here again. It was really a nice family trip. Thank you for everything.
The location was amazing and as described, a quiet area with views of the beach. We loved spending time on the rooftop deck and got to watch the sailboat regatta the day we arrived. The house is beautiful and had everything we could need, it was like a home away from home. There was lots to do and see with Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier nearby. There were great restaurants around the marina which we really enjoyed. We have recommended this place to our family and friends and would love to come back again next year! Thanks so much for the wonderful experience.
This is a unique property. It's a vertical floor plan. You enter from a garage level where you have a parking space. You go up one level and there is just one bedroom and one bathroom on that level. That is the most private bedroom. Go up another level and there is a kitchen, living/dining room, and one bedroom with a bathroom. Go up 5 stairs from the living/dining room to the den and there is a queen bed. Step out a door and you're on a 3rd story deck with a view of the beach. There are plenty of windows and natural light. At night, there is plenty of adjustable lighting as well.
We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen because of the view of the ocean, especially cooking breakfast in the morning. There is a great electronic massage chair in the living room that my wife used a lot. We liked the elevator from the ground up to the kitchen when we had groceries. We liked all the pocket doors and Japanese theme of the house. The beach front walking path is about 50 feet from the front door. The water is actually quite far across the sand but it was fun to walk back and forth to the water. We drove everywhere we went and it was convenient to be within 5-10 minutes of the Marina del Rey freeway that takes you quickly to the 405. Also it was great to be so close to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Malibu. Those are my favorite areas in LA.
I didn't like that the ad says you get two parking spaces. There is only one available space here and we didn't know which one was ours until we parked in the wrong spot and a neighbor told us which one was ours. There is no A/C in the house so it was hot during the day, but there were plenty of fans. The toilet in the lower bathroom is practically unusable because of how it sits up an extra 6 inches off the floor making it impossible to put your feet anywhere. There is so much floor to ceiling mirrored glass that we would run into the wall leaving the bedroom thinking it wasn't a wall. A rug that would easily slip was placed at the bottom of the stone stairs that lead up to the den. We thought that was dangerous and moved it during our stay.
Overall, we were pleased with the owners and this property. I would stay here again in the not-so-hot seasons, but not when it's hot out.
What can I say, the Location is Perfect and the house beautiful and the Contact/ Service great.
So the only Thing who is a little negativ is that on the roof terrace are no parasol.
We loved this place. It was very clean, nice, and well stocked with extras that we didn't have to make any purchases (other than what we wanted to eat). We were so close to restaurants, area attractions, LAX, the beach, etc... There are so many good things I could say about this rental home/condo.
We will definitely stay here again.
I can't say enough about this wonderful property. The owners have thought of everything you'll need for your stay! We were on a Thanksgiving vacation from Texas. Their information book/binder tells you everything in the area. The representatives were more than courteous with all of our pre-trip questions. I am actually looking forward to visiting another of their properties if we go on vacation again. We might actually plan a trip around one of their properties. That's how great it was. Thank you!!!
Ditto to all the other reviews: beautiful, clean, stylish house in a great location. The owner/managers could offer a seminar on how to run a VRBO. Everything was perfect, from the start of the process to checkout. We especially appreciated the unusual touches at the house, like the coffee grinder, the massage chair, the heated, etc. toilet seats, the huge selection of pots and pans and dishes, the quality of the linens. The place is really special, and the owners are delightful to deal with.

This is the lowest price ever offered at Best-at-the-Ocean due to the special conditions of a neighbor having plans to build a house on the adjacent lot. During the construction phase, the usual quiet and serenity may be impacted during the day time.
