About Debbie Phillips

Texan Debbie Phillips has traveled extensively to France where she acquired antiques for her B & B. These trips also inspired her business, Simple Slips, for which she has been featured in Victoria, Country Living, and Home Companion magazines, as well as a segment on HGTV.

Debbie Phillips purchased this house in 2006

Why Debbie Phillips chose Texas Hill Country

This unique property had an existing Bed & Breakfast and travel in France inspired the owner to recreate her experiences there in the Texas Hill Country.

Very quaint and comfortable house.

  • 4 of 5

This house was perfect for our visit to Fredericksburg. We had everything we had everything we needed to make our stay just what we wanted it to be. The beds are very comfortable. The house is in a convenient location for driving to and from the many attractions in the area. The house does need a wine cork screw. We'll remember to bring our own next time.

Truly a quaint home, filled with wonderful decor, and it was a roomy and comfortable place.

  • 5 of 5

It was the perfect place for my cousins to have a small reunion. We sat around the table nightly--it helped make the stay personal and homey. Having the parking on the side of the home was helpful. The outdoor patio looked so inviting, and it was a shame we couldn't use it since it rained everyday. The location was great--not too far or too close to Main Street. Having personal contact with the home's owner was a special touch. Thanks for the info on the app, also!! I sure hope we can return!!

The climate is optimal for grapes and peaches. There are many local wineries giving tours and samples. There are numerous antique shops, and restaurants on Main St. Fredericksburg has the newly dedicated Museum of the Pacific, and the Pioneer Museum. For the adventuresome, there is the newest TX State Park, Enchanted Rock. A huge, pink granite dome, rises 425 feet above ground, 1,825 feet above sea level, and is one of the largest batholiths in the United States. There is a flat trail at its base, as well as the possibility of climbing the rock to the summit. Birdwatching is exceptional as the TX Hill Country is on the migratory path.
