One Of The Best Houses In Woodstock
Built in 1774, this is the original farmhouse for the entire valley. The house has been lovingly renovated a number of times throughout its history, but it still retains its originals details and charm from the Revolutionary-War period. This is truly one of the more beautiful houses in the area.
The house is handsomely situated on six secluded acres. It has four (five including the den) bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, a den with fireplace (that functions as a fifth bedroom), a separate dining room, a sun/breakfast room, and two lovely fireplaces. The kitchen is fully equipped for the most demanding of dinner parties. There is also a separate laundry area adjacent to the kitchen.
There is a bedroom downstairs that has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is the master located upstairs with a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. This upstairs bathroom has a second entrance from the hallway for the use of the other two upstairs bedrooms, in addition to its being en-suite to the master bedroom. The third bedroom is upstairs and has two twin beds. The fourth bedroom is located upstairs and has a full-size/double bed. There is a separate den downstairs with its own fireplace on its own side of the house just off the living room, which nicely functions as a fifth bedroom, containing a queen-size sleeper sofa. There is also a queen-size sleeper sofa in the sun room and a twin-size day bed in the living room.
The property has a 50-foot, salt-water pool. There is a grill at poolside that is both charcoal and gas. In addition to the house, there is a charming art studio in a separate outbuilding and a barn that it used as a two-car garage and tool shop.
Located just over the hill from the town square in Woodstock, the house is in Woodstock proper, just minutes from shops and restaurants in the center of town.

Perfect Family Getaway
This house was an absolute dream, as was working with Sarah the property manager! When we walked into the house, it automatically felt like home for the weekend. We grilled some locally grown vegetables for dinner and enjoyed a relaxing night by the fire. The house was well stocked and so inviting that in truth, other than leaving to pick up provisions, there was no need to leave.. unless you wanted to take in some of the breathtaking views and enjoy the town of Woodstock, which was only about a 15 minute drive from the house. While the house was big enough for everyone to find their own corner to relax in, the house felt cozy, inviting and warm. I will absolutely book this property again and look forward to a future get away. Thank you Catharine, Steven and Sarah!
Horrible. Do not stay here. Pictures fool you
Entered to smoke filled house, and had to clean out embers and remnants from fireplace previous renters left behind. Wet, damp, stinky sheets put on bed , which filled room with foul odor. Next, cherry on top; when showering upstairs and downstairs at same time, drain/ line clog caused water to back up and out of shower drain, flooding the downstairs. Property manager tried to say we "flushed something"; totally inept! We left and found another home. What a nightmare.
Smoke filled? The house had been cleaned. The fire place was not scooped. We had a service to clean pool and offered anything else? no mention , can you please scoop the fireplace. The sheets so sorry the girl put them on damp. :( A mistake that can happen with hot sheets. No one called to say we need fire place cleaned, bed changed until the next day. I Understand late and arriving not comfortable. Tried to respond taking all bedding to laundry and the septic blew up! Perfect timing. I never accused them of doing anything, only said someone had obviously put the wrong thing down. Of when I got a that's insulting. :( I apologized explaining I didn't mean them. Had an emergency call for help the next day . All the family's that have enjoyed the house to the point of overload for a two hundred year old beutifully renovated farm house. I'm sorry for their discomfort inspite of fully using the house and pool with all theirs.
Very best always, Sarah (house manager)
