The kitchen is open to the dining area with comfortable seating for 8. The house has gleaming hardwood floors that are most noticeable in the huge and skylit living room. All the furniture is new. Chairs are light and easy to move from room to room for extra seating where ever you might want to be. We made a point to buy the most comfortable and cozy furniture possible -- including cushioned dining room chairs! Just in case, there is another queen sleep sofa in the living room, and plenty of sheets and blankets, in case you want to enjoy a rainy day watching the the 42 inch flat screen TV with stereo/DVD. There is an area for a quick snack or card game overlooking the back yard. With two doors, the living room opens to the outside deck and garden. Featuring a deck that runs the entire length of the house and has an outside table for dining al fresco that easily seats 8. There is a retractable awning that offers shade and comfort on warmer days and the fenced in yard has seasonal flowers and fruit trees. The bedrooms are on the second floor, including 3 large bedrooms, the master king is ensuite with a private full bath and deck with incredible views of Good Harbor Beach. The other two guest rooms share a connecting full bathroom. One room features a queen size bed, with lot's of space to set up a baby crib or if you are my cousin, you will secretly open P90x on your computer with plenty of room to exercise. The second room has twin bunk beds and another twin bed that curiously opens to be a king size, easily fitting 3 kids or a couple and 2 kids.
Once you have settled in, take a 7 minute stroll down the street and you will find yourself on Good Harbor beach.
The home is perfect for staying entertained, enjoying some time off and exploring the beaches of Gloucester! There is the potential to check in on Fridays in July.
We prefer if you pay by check (avoiding the service fee) or credit card directly to HomeAway or VRBO...PLEASE DO NOT wire money.
Bon Appetit by the Beach!
Originally from the area (Burlington, Ipswich, and Danvers) I remember many perfect beach days at Good Harbor Beach wtih friends and family. It was always my dream to have a place here we could invite our friends for the weekend or for a few weeks in the summer! Bart and I relocated to Gloucester August 2013, from Paris, France. Bart, my husband, is from Antwerp, Belgium. We met in Paris while he was working at Disney and I worked for Microsoft Education Group. Now we plan to travel in the summer months and let others enjoy our beautiful home for the summer!
We plan on spending many years here... and hope that we will have guests throughout the summer who can enjoy this place as much as we do!
Kimberly and Bart purchased this house in 2012
The in-law apartment, located in the front corner of the house. We sometimes stay while we have guests, but if we do, everyone has there space, private entrances and privacy.
The view is magical! From the top balcony, I can see easily if the parking lot at Good Harbor is full -- meaning best to either get a blanket down early, or wait till low tide. I loved the idea of seeing the ocean while doing dishes and laundry --as well as hearing the laughter of the kids on the beach when the wind blows from the east.
The house is a perfect size, with many closets -- it is a dream to walk into closets that are as big as our Parisian kitchen! The kitchen, has EVERY appliance and gadget you can imagine...with granite counters, a center island and a window to the living room, cooking and entertaining across rooms comes natural.

We first rented this beautiful home a couple years ago, and fell in love with it. It has a great layout, is so well equipped, has very comfortable beds, a beautiful view, and the kitchen is great. Tons of extra blankets, towels, and such. Brand new Tommy Bahama beach chairs, nice grill, two decks. Five minute walk to Good Harbor Beach, which is the BEST beach!
After our first visit, we had noted in our review that air conditioners would be a great addition, and sure enough, all three upstairs bedrooms have new units now that work great.
We rented the home for seven nights, beginning with a ladies get together the first three nights, then transitioning to family week the remaining four, as some ladies left, and the kids came up. No matter the mix, the house accommodated everyone very well.
The owners, Kimberly and Bart, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They even left us some wine and taffy as a welcome gift. Couldn't be nicer to deal with. Will definitely return!
We had a wonderful time at Kimberly and Bart's wonderful home. The house was spacious, immaculate and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Kimberly was easy to work with and the amenities (large well-equipped kitchen, games, TV, baby grand) all made for a great family reunion!

There are some great stuff around the area -- beaches, golf, whale watching, antiquing, shopping, hiking, and visit lighthouses and museums. Gloucester was a worldwide artist community as well as the oldest fishing village in the US (have you seen the show on National Geographic, Wicked Tuna, that's here!) - and there is lot's of history to explore, after enjoying the best beaches in the area. St. Peter's Fiesta kicks off the summer, and the Schrooner Festival, starts the wonderful fall season including a Blues Festival, Cyclorama, Cape Ann Plein Air plus many waterfront festivals, concerts and downtown block parties.
